Great Headset + Affordable Wireless - Great Sound

This is the best headset I have owned so far. I try to stay in the <$200 range. I was looking at the A50 or the Steelseries headsets that are all $300 plus, but they weren't in stock at Best Buy and I use my headsets for work at home and gaming, etc. I had taken the Logitech G933 back 3x (1x cause my dog ate it, 2x because issues/defective) and the Corsair Void wireless x2 (comfort/fit and to upgrade to g933). The g933 is great and all, except it's a p of poo. First one my dog ate, so it attracts dogs. The second and third pair both had defects. The headset padding just happened to come out on one side and got sticky good all over the strap. The third one couldn't stay connected and I ran into a weird COMMON issue that is not fixed. I didn't think I needed to troubleshoot my p of poo headset for hours in order to use it, so I took it back. Logitech let me down..again. I am slowly transitioning from using their products even though I like them. The sound was great...when it worked. I wish it was a hit, but it was poo instead. The Void Wireless fits oddly and the sound was meh, just whatever. It does the job, but I don't like it that much. Their software is weird too, at least for the headset itself. I have their Strafe RGB and the software is decent. Now for the Turtle Beach. This thing was hiding from me the whole time at Best Buy. I went there at least 5x for headset returns. I went there to look at headsets multiple times too. Somehow I found this after going through 3x G933 and 2x Void Wireless, and 1x A40 (looks very wireless). This headset was $40 cheaper than the next cheapest (Void Wireless). It was $99 I think when I got it. When I brought it home I knew what to expect. It doesn't fit well. It is very tight on your head. This may turn some people off. I honestly don't care. It is worth $200 if you compare it to the other headsets here. The sound is great! It is better or equal to the G933. The fitment is tight, but not painful, just, it could be more comfortable, but not a deal breaker at all. The mic is nice. Very flexible and removable. The button layout is odd, but works, especially once you get used to it. Muting the mic is on the front of the right cup while volume knobs and preset button is on the back. If you use your thumbs like most humans, it is easy to hit the volume or preset button when muting the mic. You have a knob for hearing yourself and you can turn it all the way down if you don't want to hear it. It is actually a nice feature. Pros: Sound is great Mic output is clear and great Mic is removable and flexible CHEAP! Looks decent Small, compact and lightweight Solid construction. Cons: Fitment is a little tight I'd recommend this headset over any other $50-200 ranged headset.

I assume these are good headsets, if you use them for your PC. Unfortunately, Best Buy is selling them under XBOX ONE Headsets, which at the moment are NOT compatible with the X-1. When they arrived, after almost a month of waiting (pre-order), I noticed that there was no X-1 labeling anywhere on the box, but just figured it was plug & play via USB dongle. After almost an hour of trying to get them to work and visiting Turtle Beach's website, it is apparent that these headsets are strictly for PC only, via TB's website. So, unfortunately I returned them. Thought I had me a great pair of surround sound headsets for my X-1 Best Buy needs to remove these headsets from the XBOX ONE's list of headsets until they know for sure that these are actually compatible for the X-1 and/or the PC.

To be honest I was a bit skeptical at first. Kept using it and felt it is the perfect fit for me. I am curious if I can get the volume to go a bit higher though. I was used to my old Turtle Beach X12 which are wired. Aside from that the sound is clean and detailed, there is no static whatsoever and people hear me perfectly. Also I got a $25 discount because when I bought it Amazon had it at a lower price and BB did a price match.

    WIndows 10 drivers still buggy

The headset feels solid for a PC headset, although it can be tight fitting for some. The mic is incredibly sensitive, and you can constantly hear yourself breathing into it, even after turning down the chat volume. The support site for these headphones has minimal documentation, and only one driver set, which took me hours to get to output sound, due to conflicts with other drivers in windows 10.

In doing my research online for this product and watching a lot of Youtube videos of other gamers recommendations, I decided to check the Ear Forces. They set up easily and the sound, even at the recommended 'max' distance, was great!! Would definitely say these were worth the price.

    Very Disappointing and Annoying

    Posted .

I rated this headset 1 star because after 5 weeks of using the headset, it would not turn on at all. Within those 5 weeks the headset did its job; playing good sound, good mic quality, very comfortable headset. Although, halfway through the 5 weeks whenever I would plug in the headset to charge, it would say "Charging Battery" (Apparently a normal and annoying thing the headset does) and sometimes weird random static would interrupt the "Charging Battery", which I dont think is normal. Now comes the 5th week, by this time the headset will now not turn on at all. The only time the headset will turn on is while its charging but will only stay on for a couple seconds. The charging cable now doesnt even charge (Yes i've checked everything) and emits very loud, strange, and ear piercing sound. Also, the instructions don't even tell you how long you have to charge the headset... like, really? So this is why I think its very dissapointing and annoying.

I was extremely skeptical buying a turtle beach product. But I took my chances and picked up this headset when my old headset died, thank you GSP. Wow. Blown away at the quality of sound and detail using this headset. Games and music sound amazing. Haven't watched too many videos to really give an idea what they sound like but I can only imagine it'll blow me away. My only Con of the headset would be that its not super comfortable. It could be worse but I've felt better. Still totally worth it!

    Sounds great, less filling

How do they sound? They sound great! Zero complaints, other than the small annoyance of switching between the different soundscapes. There is only one button and you have to cycle through them 1 every 3 seconds. If you accidentally hit the button, gonna take you 15 seconds to get back to the soundscape you want. How do they feel? They fit nicely, not too tight and not too loose. The earpads might be more comfy if it were memory foam, but the material they use is still very nice. Ease of Use? Plug and Play EZPZ. Detachable mic is great, mic/main audio mix dial helps a ton, Ability to use Bluetooth, USB wired or headphone jack cable offers a fantastic array of choices not available on most other headsets. Solid features for sure! Build quality? This is the big fail. By "big" I mean BIG. This is the second set of Turtle Beach headsets I've owned, and they've both broken on the extendable arms that come out of the headrest. WITHIN 2 YEARS! Yes, that's right, *within* 2 years. Neither of them saw 2 full years out of the box without dying. And I'm SUPER careful with them. I only use them at home, on my PC. They never leave my desk unless they're on my head. I always use 2 hands to remove them. I treat them like gold. I DJ as a hobby for the last 17 years, so I know how to make headphones last in heavy abuse situations. I've had to buy 2, yes TWO sets of headphones in that entire time. The first set of DJ headphones I only replaced because I was tired of them and wanted an upgrade. Now, these headphones are cheap for the features they provide, so maybe replacing them every 2 years isn't a big deal for you. For me, it is. I will not be buying Turtle Beach products any longer if they can't learn to use metal (or stronger/less-brittle plastic) to support the main points of stress on their headsets. It's a shame, really, because everything else about these are great. The audio, features, and ease of use are the only things saving these from receiving a 1 star review. Had the quality of their building choice not been so abysmal, this could have been a 5 star review. I purposely waited for the 2 year anniversary of purchase before reviewing, in case the same thing happened as the last set. I made it 19 months. yes, 19 months. I basically rented a pair of headphones for $5.58 a month, based on the price listed on the Best Buy website today.

This headset is the best I have ever purchased. The one downside is that they start off a little tight on the head, but but the more you use them they ease up.

Worst headset I've ever gotten, will be returning them tomorrow. I bought the headset, and out of the box looking at them, I knew I made a mistake. Not only are these the hardest, tightest, smallest, most uncomfortable headphones ever, They won't play sound using the wireless sender AT ALL, I've tried everything online, the headset makes the light signalling they are connected, but it will not play any noise. The headphones have incredibly small space for your ears (probably designed for the 12 year olds who usually get these headphones) and the cushioning does nothing. They car at the sharpest angle, and even after stretching them out, they squeeze my head to the point that after taking them off, my head hurts. I would never reccomend these headphones, and I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemies for them to wear these.

Not a terrible headset in terms of sound quality. But the auto shut-off feature is really annoying. Every single time it has to ask if you want to disable auto shut-off. I wish I could permanently disable it

    Catches all noise in room

So, to be fair, the sound quality on the headset is actually really good.. The reason why I'm giving such a low score is because it literally catches everything in the room. I was sitting at my computer and people could hear my a/c in the background as it were sitting next to me. I turned the mic volume down as much as possible and it got better, but it still picks things up WAY too fast.

Great headphones when they worked, now dead and have requested an RMA for replacement. They should seriosly consider a connection method that won't break, similar to apple products. No money to be made that way, I suppose. If they didn't break, I wouldn't need to replace them.
