Verdict. We have had a lot of iPad cases and keyboard cases over the years. I think this UAG keyboard case is the best one so far. This case is very well built, it’s versatile, and it has many convenience and productivity features. We love it! First impressions. The exterior of the case feels like it provides rugged protection for the iPad. The case is heavier than expected (just under 2lbs without the iPad), so it’s something to consider if you need to keep your load light. The keyboard is also thicker than expected, and appears to be heavy-duty and built to last. The trackpad feels nice, and the keys type smoothly and quickly. I love the independent case for the iPad because it protects the iPad even if you don’t bring the keyboard case with you. Setup. Installing the iPad into the case is a tight fit, as expected; just go slow and it will go it. I wish the package included a tempered glass to add protection to the screen. I have ordered one from Best Buy already to add one more level of protection. To connect the Bluetooth keyboard, first turn-on the keyboard by holding the power button. Then hold the Bluetooth key with the number 1 (or 2 if you want). Then look for the UAG keyboard in the iPad Bluetooth settings, and finally input the code you see on the screen into the keyboard and press enter on the keyboard. Versatility. The independent iPad case sits inside of the keyboard case so the iPad benefits from all around protection in a package that looks very rugged. The independent case for the iPad allows the iPad to be easily removed from the keyboard if you want to just use the iPad. This is the feature that distinguishes this case from most other cases. The independent case has a slot for an Apple Pencil for when you just want to take the iPad for written notes or drawing. Finally, the independent case sticks to the keyboard case magnetically, so it’s a very convenient implementation. Functionality. I am very impressed with the keyboard functionality. It can pair with two different devices, it has back-lit keys, it is spill resistant, it types very nicely, and the large trackpad is compatible with multitouch gesture. I haven’t been able to test the full battery life of the keyboard yet, but it is advertised to be long. The keyboard includes all keys you would find on an Apple laptop: cmd key, volume keys, media keys, back-lit adjustment keys for brightness and color (press fn and the arrow keys), and more keys just for the iPad. This keyboard basically turns your iPad into a laptop. Things I love. - Heavy duty protection and anti-microbial fabric!! - USB-C charging to match the charging cable of the new iPads - Easy installation and setup - Space to store the Apple Pencil - Easy to remove the iPad from the keyboard - Nice keyboard with large trackpad - Lots of functionality with the keyboard keys Things I don’t love. - Angle options for the iPad are somewhat limited - Keep in mind that you will have to charge the keyboard regularly. On the plus side, the keyboard uses a USB-C cable just like the new iPad - It is a little heavy - The keyboard comes with a safety warning sticker that is hard to remove. Not a big issue, but a little annoying Overall, this is an amazing keyboard case. The minor things I don’t love have no impact on its utility for all my uses. I love the versatility and functionality that it adds to iPad, and I think it’s a five-star case. Compared to some other keyboard cases, the UAG case provides really good value for price. I highly recommend this case.

First Impression - I opened the package and charged the keyboard fully. One important item of note - This is a case AND a Keyboard combo - they work together but either / or can be used exclusively. I checked the manual to figure out how to link this to more than one device and/or reset it. The build quality of both the Ipad case and the keyboard feels very high with a grippable soft touch finish. The keyboard has adjustable backlighting ( both color and brightness ) which can be set via a series of keyboard shorcuts. Use: I installed the ipad in the UAG ipad case and tried out the ipad without using the keyboard. The edges of the case provide a nice grip and a LOT Of protection. This has some form of mil-spec rating on drop protection and it shows. The keyboard - connection is magnetic - everything just sort of finds it's spot and sticks together with the ipad. It works ! Setting the angle of the screen is accomplished via the standard "fold a triange" out of the cover flap. After linking the keyboard, I was able to type in emails, standard documents and I had no issue using the additional ipad specific functions also included in the keyboard such as volume control etc. The keyboard has a really nice feel on the key action. It does not double strike easily or miss much - even when gently touch typing. Overall the build, keys, action, backlighting have a very high quality feel to them. The spacing is perfect for the size of the keyboard and does not feel cramped, even though the area allowed for the keyboard is very obviously limited to the size of the ipad. Just for fun - I linked it up to my work PC. The keyboard works fine ! I linked it to an android tablet - it works fine there as well. For a final feat - I linked it to my smart monitor and used it to play a few rounds of a streaming game. Once again - it worked as expected without any issue. Overall - This would be an EXCELLENT product to protect and extend functionality where it is to be used harshly. Think stuffed in a backpack with books or shoved into a locker. The UAG case alone is not too heavy but the keyboard and case together is quite heavy - I.e. this level of protection and durability costs much in weight ! Please bear this in mind when considering this product. Would I use it ? Maybe - but I would often leave the keyboard at home. Would I outfit an ipad for my school age child with it ? yes ! What I love: Insane battery life - even with the keys at full brightness. The action on the keys Built like tank Room for improvement: Having matching or complimentary colors available would be nice !

One of the things I like the most about this case is that the keyboard is detachable, I don't need to have it connected all the time to my iPad. The case protects the iPad very well and is made of good and resistant materials. To connect the keyboard you have to do it from the iPad bluetooth menu, you have to turn on the keyboard, press the bluetooth connection button (you can connect up to two devices and switch when necessary, it has two BT buttons to switch between devices), enter the code that appears on the screen on the keyboard and ready, it is ready to use. In practice I have been very pleased, the keys have enough separation so I make less mistakes when typing, sometimes because of the size of the keyboards I press more than one key at a time, but with this case-keyboard that doesn’t happen. The keys also have backlit and you can customize the color. The trackpad is a good size and features the familiar pinch, scroll, tap and swipe functions, as well as the classic apple keyboard functions and commands. The battery promises to last up to 6 months but it will depend on how much you use the keyboard, it charges via USB-C. The case feels very good and does not slide on flat surfaces, does not weigh much and is not very bulky, overall it seems to me a product with a sober and minimalist design, let's say simple but effective. The case-keyboard fulfills its function of protecting the ipad as well as providing comfort and effectiveness when writing or even just using the iPad for multimedia consumption, and if you have apple pencil, at the top there is a compartment to store it and avoid losing it. In summary, this case-keyboard UAG has everything a user needs for the daily use of your iPad, is easy to install and very comfortable to use, has keys with LED back-lit that we can customize, apple pencil storage, a detachable keyboard and a battery that lasts a long time, it seems that the price is worth it, recommended.

Urban Armor Gear is a brand know for making heavy duty cases foe both cellphones and tablets. The UAG Bluetooth Rugged Keyboard with Trackpad is no different. And though this keyboard case has been around for quite some time, it is still worth reviewing this product. The UAG Bluetooth Rugged Keyboard is in essence the same as previous iterations of this product save for the fact that this is specifically form fitted for the 10th generation iPad which sports a 10.9 inch screen. This product comes in two pieces whereas the main case is a rugged stand alone case which can be attached magnetically to the keyboard. This IMO is very handy if you simply want to use your iPad only. After all, iPads and tablets in general are designed really as touch screen devices, Once attached to the keyboard, the product becomes a keyboard case and both the case and keyboard are heavy duty which according to the manufacturer can withstand an eight foot drop. Of course I have no intention of finding it out but I will the trust the company’s word for that and thus having a sense of security for my iPad. The keyboard is connected via bluetooth and not by POGO connectors. It is capable of having two bluetooth devices connected simultaneously. One for the iPad itself and two presumably for another device perhaps a mouse. I haven’t tested this for now since I am quite content with just using the trackpad. And my case I do not intend to use my iPad as my main computing device. As for the keyboard itself, typing the keyboard is in essence like typing on a laptop as it has some sturdiness and the keys are basically tactile. I have used folding keyboards for my iPad and I must say this is way better than those portable keyboards. Charging of the keyboard takes a couple of hours and is rated at thirty hours of battery life. It has an auto-off feature or sleep mode and a dedicated power button so save on energy. For the most part the battery life of this product is good enough for my needs. There is really not much more for me to add to the benefits of this keyboard case. But if you do plan to use your iPad as your main computing device, this product is a high recommend since given the ruggedness of the case itself and the tactility of the the keys themselves make this the perfect accessory for your iPad.

I have used plenty of cases and now I know which to get from now on, this Urban Armor Gear is top of the line. Right out of the box the case feels tough and ready to protect my iPad and once opened the keyboard appears and the keys are nice and smooth and best of all quiet. Right in front center you will find the trackpad that is very useful. Also in the box you will find the case and lastly the USB A to USB C cable to charge the keyboard. The case is fits tightly on the iPad for a good reason, to keep it protected and I can take it with me or place it on the keyboard body. To pair the keyboard it is easy as any other Bluetooth product you want to pair with the iPad and I like that it is Bluetooth because I do not need both the iPad and keyboard next to each other. The instructions to pair or to use the keyboard are easy to understand. The case is very useful; I can leave the iPad tilted back while I type on the keyboard. It is also tough and it does not slip easily. I also like that it has a magnet so it stays closed. I also like how easy it is to store away the Apple pencil as well. The keyboard is soft to the touch and I like that it is spill resistant. And I really like the RGB Keyboard, it looks so cool. You can turn on the lights, dim the lights since it has 3 levels of brightness as well and lastly, change the color, you change choose one of the seven colors. The trackpad is very useful, I can do plenty of things by swiping, tapping, pinching and scrolling. The battery, I really like that the battery can last up to 6 months, that is amazing, and if I use it often, the USB C cable is easy to use and charge the keyboard. And I can change the battery life by pressing fn+ B and it will give me one of the following, 4 flashes is 80-100%, 3 flashes is 60-79%, 2 flashes 35-59% and one flash is less than 34% so you need to charge. Another thing I like of the exterior of the case is that it is antimicrobial so it will stay cleaner than my phone. Activating Siri is just one touch away, the microphone key is there for this purpose. I like it

UAG - Make sure to charge it a few hours before using. Bluetooth Keyboard will hook up within seconds, no issue. Start over the process if you do have a problem. Once connected it will not disconnect unless you turn off Bluetooth. I first like the color, has an office look to it. Business style and super easy to grip with the ridges. The quality feels tough and but too heavy or bulky. Good design. Perfect for travel or even home use. Stays out with the material of grip. The detachable iPad cover is a cool function as well. They have different usage modes. You can totally flip the screen from keyboard, use it as a tablet stand or completely closed and protected which is most important. A place for your pen. There are cutouts that make for easy charging but still keeps every protected. The keys feel large enough and feel similar to a decent regular keyboard on a laptop. Track pad is nice and clicks easy. Everything electronic is super reactive. I’m a fan! So far the best setup for your iPad.

When looking for a keyboard set up for my I0.9” iPad, I settled on the UAG 10.9” 10th Gen Bluetooth Keyboard. There is a lot to like and somethings not to like. First off this is built like a tank with two separate pieces that work together to create a cocoon to protect your iPad. The first part is a cover for your iPad and the second part is a foldable magnetic keyboard. One weak area for me is the magnetic flap from the keyboard that attaches to the back of the iPad cover. The flap folds and attaches with a magnet, but doesn’t hold very well and the iPad slips or falls on to its back and can be frustrating. The other issue is the weight of the keyboard is more than I had expected. On the plus side the keys are very responsive and provide excellent feedback while typing. The included touchpad can be very sensitive and you have to mind where you place your thumbs. Connectivity is through Bluetooth and works fairly well. Overall this is a keyboard that you need to make sure is right for your needs, for me it was a near miss!

The UAG - Apple iPad 10.9" 10th Gen Bluetooth Keyboard is an amazing addition to an outstanding device! I love the design of the shell/outer casing, the layout of the keys and trackpad along with the mounting stand and securing latch. This UAG - Apple iPad 10.9" 10th Gen Bluetooth Keyboard is one of the best keyboard cases I have used for a tablet. The case fits securely around the iPad, giving reassurance that your tablet is protected as you carry it, or set it up on your lap or desk. There is also a securing slot for your Apple Pencil if you use one. I find the Apple Pencil slot to be a nice feature, as it keeps the pencil secure when I am not using it and makes it easily accessible when I need it. The keyboard for the UAG - Apple iPad 10.9" 10th Gen Bluetooth Keyboard case is very responsive and the keys are easy to press without requiring an excessive amount of force with each key stroke. Thus, making it easy to type fast without experiencing fatigue in your fingers. The ergonomic design of the keyboard and trackpad is great as well! My hands rest naturally on the surface of the keyboard and I can type normally without having to adjust my finger or wrist posture to accommodate for the position of the keys. The trackpad, similar to the keyboard, is amazingly accurate and responsive. You can use native iOS gestures on the trackpad to reach shortcuts and displays which I find really cool. You can play games using the trackpad and experience exceptional precision on your movements as you progress through the game. It's a really cool experience. The UAG - Apple iPad 10.9" 10th Gen Bluetooth Keyboard is the perfect compliment to the 10.9" iPad. It provides solid protect from scratches, scrapes and bruises. In addition, it enhances your experience by unlocking the full potential of iPad and giving you more of a workstation experience on your ultra portable device. I highly recommend the UAG - Apple iPad 10.9" 10th Gen Bluetooth Keyboard.

UAG makes some sturdy cases. This 10th gen iPad case is no exception. My 10.9" iPad slipped into the back shell soother than most, yet fits snuggly. All the buttons and slots line up perfectly. The Apple(R) logo shows through the clear protective panel. As does the color of the case. Nice for those who went with the blue, rose or yellow case. I had no problem pairing the keyboard with the iPad. I found the large trackpad surface especially responsive. The lower switch section also performed as I hoped. Charging the keyboard's built in battery is through the USB-C port, the same as what I use to charge my iPad. Keyboard spacing is comfortable and natural. Touch typing is as one would expect. Special use and function keys occupy the upper row. All keys are backlit for use in darker locations. UP/DOWN LEFT/RIGHT arrow keys are neatly parked int he lower right corner of the keyboard. To the right and left of the track pad are large areas of open space to rest my wrist while typing. I find the apple pencil or pen fit the holder well. No worry that it will slip out while carrying the case. When used for viewing the screen in movie mode or while typing, the cover unfolds into a neat triangle rest to lean the pad against. and when done, it unrolls back to cover the screen, pencil and keypad, latching with a powerful magnetic clasp..

Fantastic keyboard, great product to protect your investment as well. I would’ve given it 5 stars but it did have one small drawback. It’s very heavy! Compared to Apples Magic Keyboard this case just weighs to much. It’s a given for the protection it offers. If you don’t mind lugging your ipad around like a laptop in terms of weight. The rest of the features are great. Cheaper alternative and overall safe & snug protection for the iPad.

This is the best ipad ive used. Battery life is great quality and the sturdiness is very good.

This is a great sturdy case to purchase for your iPad BUT the reason a star was taken off because I added a screen protector. The lip around the case pushes little tiny air bubble under the case but still protects it. Either no screen protector or be ok with the little air bubbles that form.

I like the durability of it but it’s a little awkward to use. I do like the fact that it’s magnetic and I can remove the keyboard but still keep the protective case on my iPad.

Good, heavy duty keyboard. I wish the keys were a bit larger, but given the size of the iPad, it might not be possible. Still usable at this size.
