Picked this little speaker up on release day and it did not disappoint. What a speaker, for the size of this thing it filled a large room perfectly. The sound quality was on point. Has a cool pendant type feature with lets you hang it anywhere and if you had an older car without a bluetooth/iPod connectivity radio, this would be perfect to use in there. Crisp, loud, fully waterproof, durable. What more could you want? Well worth the money. Only downside is that it doesn't have a mic like its big brother the UE Boom. BUT this is half the price.

It is louder than most it's size! Water proof, durable, and the cord allows you to attach it to your bag easily.

I bought this speaker for $50 as a Deal of the Day, and it is worth the full price, fo' sho. I put it on my float in the pool without worry. Great dynamic range. Cool app to control it remotely. I'm a professional musician, and I think it sounds great. Very good battery life. Looks cool. You need this.

I was in the market for a solid, reasonably priced Wireless Bluetooth Speaker. I started googleing and this UE ROLL kept popping up as one of the best on the market. I then checked Best Buy and saw their ridiculously low price. I read the Best Buy reviews which were all positive and I went and purchased it that same day. This little contraption puts out big, big sound. Waterproof, submersible.. Who Could ask for more. I WILL be getting a second one in the near future so that I can Try out the DOUBLE DOWN function.

The UE is very easy to use. I like that it's portable and water resistant.

I love it and I use it everyday... One of the best purchases I have made.

Initial setup was easy & the sound quality is amazing, which I initially was hesitant about because of the size...which also makes it easy to keep with me. Great product!!

Purchased for our 21 foot fishing boat. No wires--Great music using bluetooth link to a smartphone and stored music files.

We bought this speaker because of its blue tooth range. We wanted a speaker we could control from the living room when we put our daughter down for bed. We are more than impressed with the sound quality and volume this little speaker can produce for its size. We not only use this at bedtime but we also attach this speaker to the stroller using the bungee cord on the back of the speaker so we can listen to a podcast or music on our walks. Great range, volume, and sound quality for the money. Definitely recommend this product.

The UE Roll is a Bluetooth speaker you can listen to crisp sounds and loud bass music while going on hikes in the mountains, lounging at the beach, or even biking in any weather. It is waterproof. There are bungee type straps which you can hook your carabiner to your backpack. The volume controls are the plus and minus signs which is on the speaker so you don't need to adjust it on your phone. I think it's a great design. It's light weight, easy to clean, waterproof, and user friendly. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

I purchased this UE Roll knowing full well it was last generation's model. Having said that, it is well worth the price especially at the discounted mark. The UE Roll is rugged, waterproof (just in case you drop it in the pool), is small and lightweight, and it has good sound quality for its size. The UE Roll really emphasizes the highs in music while the mids and lows are neglected. That's par for the course when it comes to Bluetooth speakers of this size and price. You really need to spend at least $200 to get something with decent bass. I've taken my UE Roll in the shower, out on the pool (I have a small pool floaty for it), on a river for some slow rafting days, and to the beach multiple times. The advertised battery life is accurate, the UE Roll actually lasts a bit longer than the advertised life. If you've owned any UE Boom product, this will be very similar. There's an app so you can customize the EQ and you can pair it up with another UE Roll for stereo sound. All-in-all, this is the absolute best $50 Bluetooth speaker that you'll find on the market even compared to the second generation (which really only gets a little louder). Of course, the UE Boom 2 and UE Megaboom will sound better but they are far more expensive. If you're on the market for an inexpensive Bluetooth speaker, do yourself a favor and go with this as you won't regret it. Just make sure you keep your expectations in check and don't expect this to produce bass like a subwoofer can.

Needed a rugged life proof speaker with good sound. Didn't want anything bulky or big. It's perfect when I go mountain biking. Fast connection! I turn it on and music starts playing right away. Big volume buttons but I mainly use my phone for volume. Sound is awesome! I have it hanging from the top of my backpack so sound is close to my head. It's crisp and clear. Lack BIG bass but I don't even notice it when riding on bumpy roads. I can hear the music loud and clear and that's all that matters. Battery lasts hours. Haven't had it die on me. I ride 2-3 hours. The loop in the back will defenenlty not hold when in motion but you can loop the loop around the speaker like a knot! Problem solved. Love my speaker! The app is useful too but you mainly need it for initial setup and equalizer settings. Definitely recommend this. Have yet to use two of them at the same time.

I needed a bluetooth (cordless) speaker to play prerecorded music on my Apple MacAir laptop when I'm on my patio behind our house. It is too cumbersome to carry everything I need in one trip down multiple stairs, i.e., 1. Apple MacAir Laptop, 2. a cool beverage, 3. snacks, etc., so I invested in the UE-Roll for my listening pleasure and convenience. Now I don't have to make multiple trips in and out of the house to get everything i needed for a cool, music filled evening in the great outdoors. In the past, I typically put first things first...1. a cool beverage and 2. the laptop ONLY because I only have only two hands and hate to climb multiple steps over and over again to get everything I need. Now, I can actually put the UE-Roll in my pocket if I desire or hang it from my belt loop while carrying both the laptop and a beverage in one trip or even leave the laptop indoors to transmit sound cordlessly to the UE-Roll and carry two essential items outside...i.e., two beverages or one beverage and a snack. The sound is great, the battery life is long, and the beverage remains not just cool like the music but cold. If for any reason I forget to bring in the speaker, I don't have to worry about it getting rained on and damaged. It's a real cool tool...seriously.

This speaker is great. I have music playing while I take a shower and it works great. I love how loud it is with decent sound that not tiny at all and rather full sounding. I also love the feature that you hold both the volume up and down button together to get the battery status. Finally the UE ROLL app makes listening to music very pleasing since it has equalizer settings. All in all a great portable speaker for the price without the worry of any liquid damage since it's waterproof.

I use it with my iPhone 5 Pros: Great sound. Seems waterproof so far (I've used it in the shower/steam room and in the rain multiple times). iPhone app is simple and useful for sound control, volume level, and power on/off. Speaker has a nice feel to it (cloth front and soft rubberized back). Rechargable battery lasts much longer than the 9 hours I was expecting. Cons Sometimes have trouble getting the speaker to turn on/off using the button on the back of the unit. Sometimes the sound breaks up a bit if I have my iPhone in my pocket and walk 20 or so feet away (I think the range is supposed to be 60 or so feet but that must mean straight line of sight with no obstructions). Doesn't come with a wall plug for charging (only comes with a usb cable for charging). I use an iPhone usb/outlet block and plug the charging cable into that.

The sound quality is great, the size is small but yet produces a very loud surround sound, it's easy to charge and once charged lasts a very long time, it is also waterproof, and it also has a feature to hook a 3 mm cable to it.

I purchased this speaker during one of the sales at Best Buy. It was only about $50 and well worth this price. At the same time I also purchased a Bose Soundlink mini and will attempt to compare the two. The UE speaker is waterproof and has good clear sound. I was amazed the the simple shape and operation yielded good sound. The best feature is the hook (rope) which allows you to hand the speaker anywhere. I hang it in my car, on my kitchen cabinet handles, door handles, and all over the house. This makes the speaker so mobile. The sound is clear but not very loud due to the limitations in the case size. So I would classify the sound as impressive for the size but it does lack base which is understandable. Compared to the Bose which cost me more than $100 more the only difference is the Bose will play louder and have more base. More base is not necessarily better so you have to evaluate what type of music you will be playing on it. I end up leaving the Bose at home and leaving the UE in my car. They are really two different animals. For the $50 price its a no brainer. At the full price of $100 the field becomes more crowded but the portability and rugged aspects of this speaker cannot be beat. For my "road" speaker I prefer a speaker more rugged than having better fidelity. I did take out the Bose once and my daughter ended up damaging the front grill on the Bose. This is why I keep it at home. The best feature as I mentioned before is the rope which allows you to hang the speaker for anywhere. My daughter loves to hand it on her backpack and listen to music while hiking or on a walk. This speaker hanging on the outside of a backpack will sound better than the Bose which has to sit inside the backpack.

I use this thing playing volleyball outdoors (sand and grass) and wasn't sure it would be loud enough outside to be useful. It is way louder than I anticipated and rarely to I even have to turn the volume all the way up. It also seems very, very durable and I never mind just tossing it into my gym bag when I head to the courts. Battery life is great, I use it for long stretches of time and haven't had it die on me yet, probably have used it for about 5-6 hours at a time. The bungee cord on it is great too, I use it to hook it onto the volleyball net or posts, or sometimes will hang it in my canopy while we are on break. I would for sure buy this again.

I love my UE Roll! I purchased it as a summertime music source and it has exceeded my expectations. I had hampered expectations for a speaker this size: I figured volume, bass and sound would be decent at best but I was pleasantly surprised. This speaker is much louder and has better sound than any speaker of comparable size. Bass is not great but the quality of highs and mids more than make up for the lack of bass. Battery life is very good, I've gotten about 3 hours straight out of the speaker when blasting at full volume the entire time. Moderate volume has yielded me about 7 hours. Great speaker from a great producer, especially for the money!

I like the looks of this speaker and the sound is really good for a speaker of this size and in this price range; it cannot be beat! This is waterproof so no worries taking it out in the wild or in the shower. Having two is great since the software allows for them to be linked . It Could ideally have more base but let's face it that just can't be expected in speakers of this size. Excellent volume and rich sound otherwise.
