Customers find value in the intense and customizable workouts offered by the UFC Personal Trainer. However, some users experience issues with the Kinect sensor's ability to consistently track their movements during exercises. The Kinect's unreliability is a recurring concern, occasionally interrupting or hindering workout progress. Improvements to the Kinect's accuracy would significantly enhance the overall user experience.

I purchased this game thinking it would be something to help me lose a little weight and get toned, while playing video games (can't go wrong huh?!) I am overly pleased with the results I have obtained (12 lbs lost in a month and a half) by following the programs laid out in the game. The game has different levels so it does not matter how in shape your or out of shape you are, what matters is that once you start, stick to it and you will see results if you try. I think this game is great. Gives a manly workout to video games rather than those silly teeny dance games (which are quite difficult as well, but just not for me).

Got this for my husband who has been afraid to try it completely. He did watch it and do a few of the exercises but has not committed to using it yet.

It was easy to follow and is a great workout. It is a little slow going from one exercise to the other, and a lot of things are repeated. Other than that, it really was a great workout, I was as sore the next day as I am when I take an hour class at the gym and I only did 35 minutes. It gives you a lot of options as far as workouts with a trainer or you can just punch the bag and see how many times you can hit it in a certain amount of times. It also has different fitness levels.

Good challenge, but poor sensor detection.

For the best part we have this.
The game provides a excellent challenging workout. Then the next time you do the routine, it provides you motivation to do better than last time by presenting your previous details. Also noticed between days it varies the order a bit for some variety. Must say after day 2 my abs are really filling the burn.
Now for the not so great.
The Audio motivation is monotone and repetitious making it boring and wishing it would just stop. While annoying this is not the worst part.
The worst part is the sensor detection accuracy. You’re watching your figure on the screen showing that your moving the same way as the screen is indicating yet arms or feet are show red. Also misses reps. The worst so far for detection is the front lunges, my son, daughter and myself all registered 0 completed correctly the arms in front is always red until move to the side, so you only get credit for twist and return never lung forward. Resulting in 0 completed reps for all three players. A Flat zero for my son who is in the arm and at level 3 combative and 350 out of 300 on his PT tests is hard to believe. This is more likely a failure in the software.

Freeze Frame.....

Okay, so I ran out to best buy as soon as I got off work and purchased this game. My goal is to get in better shape. Currently I'm a member at a gym, but thought I could stay on track using this game if I didn't get out to the gym, possibly even canceling my gym membership. Well, let's just same that though I did get a workout in the first 4 of 12 exercises, I also got a lot of rest in between because the game kept freezing on me. So while I may have kept going through wih the exercises, they were not counted towards my points. I have the Xbox 360 wired too. The other issue that I had was that the game wasn't recognizing certain movements like the jumping jack test. I mean, I've been doing jumping jacks for a while and unless there's a new style of jumping jacks, I'm not exactly sure what I was doing wrong especailly being I was in the green activity zone. Which brings me to another issue. There were times that the game just lost me and everything would stop. I was still in the green activity zone, but it just lost me and the game would stop. The the activities would have been great for me, just the fustration of the freezing was just too much after 45 mins. Other than that, if the game wasn't freezing so much, I would recommend the game for those who want to get or stay healthy.

Horrible Software

I gave this game every chance, and it struck out every time starting at day one. When the software worked, it could give you a good workout, but that is about the only good thing I can say about it. So where do I started. I tried to do a 30 day program which turned out to be endlessly frustrating. You have to explicitly say continue to wave your hand after every exercise to move on to the next one. It never counts all of your reps accurately and fails you if you don't complete all of them. You have to do three reps for a tutorial before even starting the exercise, which turns into 6 or 7 because it doesn't count your reps, so you are already tired before starting. Yes, you can turn off the tutorials, but if you don't know how to do an exercise there is no way to pause or get any explanation about what you are supposed to do, and of course the trainer doesn't follow along with you. Like others have said he just keeps repeating the same phrase over and over. Every time you have to get on the floor for something the kinect will loose you and pause the game so you have to stand back up and re-confirm you are still playing. This happened 5 or 6 times during my first workout, and finally about 80% of the way through it locked up trying to log me back in. This led to another problem, it doesn't save your progress along the way, so everything I did that day was lost. And, if you are doing a program it will assume you skipped that day and force you to do the same workout the next day. There is no way to say you already did it, or skip ahead to the next workout. If you try and cheat and just skip all the exercises for that workout to get some credit, you are still locked out from doing the next workout until the next day. The final straw was when I had completed a workout, saw my summary for the day, exited to the menu, then the next day logged in and it said I had did the previous days workout. I guess if you want to use the individual workouts with no goal or tracking it might work, but the program function is useless. You can't pick you trainer, there are no options to advance or repeat a workout, and it doesn't keep track for no reason sometimes.

Great exercise game for kinect

Bought the kinect and UFC Trainer on the same day and have been doing the 60 day weight cut work out challenge and yes it's working, I am sore. At times you can cheat the exercise game play, but realistically you are only cheating yourself. Trainers do tend to repeat themselves pretty frequently. It's true sometimes the kinect sensor does not pick up all reps, but I think (MY) problem is that my living room is too small because my body keeps turning red, I can't step back any further to center myself in the octagon and my kinect sensor is a little too low below my T.V. which is hanging in the air by a whalen back support T.V. mount. When I do my one knee back over head stretches my hands disappear off the screen indicating me to raise my sensor a little higher. On GTTV the NYKO ZOOM was said to work rather well with the kinect sensor for those with a smaller living room space and more than likely I'll pick one up. For the most part it is a good fun game, A good exercise routine to pick up especially if you are a UFC fan. I can't wait to see what I look like 55 days from now.

Love the workout out and works pretty good. Except, sometimes the Kinect will not read you when you are doing any floor excerises like pushups and ab workouts..LIke it over all.

This is a humbling game. Just doing the preassessment was tiring enough. Routines are fun. My caution to you all who are new to martial arts workouts is to stretch out all parts of your body real good before starting. Seems easy, but best to take your time as the workout routine will slowly wear you out. Even the easy ones eventually get tough!

I am a UFC fan and my kids got this for me as a late Father's Day present. I am very impressed with the variety of workouts. We have a couple of Kinect games and this one is very responsive and easy to navigate. The voice command function is awesome. Seeing the UFC trainers and fighters is very cool. I was able to get in a variety of workouts in a short amount of time, and it is also fun to hit the punching bag!

the game was very difficult for a beginner but doable, the problem for me was that as a beginner you need to be motivated in a positive way to continue or try harder. If you did not complete the task required the animated trainer made you feel bad with his arm gestures and attitude.
They should have a more positive, try again or you will do better next time attitude on the trainer especially for beginners...he made me feel so bad i didn't put the game in again. My son loves it though, he is in great shape and thinks it's a great work out..

Save your money, or your best buy gift card for something better. Plain and simple here, the Kinect does not pick you up 80% of the time. And yes I have done everything possible to get it to pick me up. I did 30 push ups before it registered 1, and did 25 sit ups before it registered 1. The punching bags register hit when you're not even punching, I could go on and on but I wont. SAVE YOUR MONEY!
