This is one of the hardest working little speakers I have ever owned. I just bought another for my 13 year old son. They pair up easily to our phones and generate reasonable impressive sound for their size. My son just put his to the test this weekend while pressure washing a muddy 4 wheeler. Although the speaker was a little too close to the line of action, it still works great despite being covered in mud.

I'm pretty much a sucker for any Bluetooth speakers and had to try these. What makes them one of my favorites is the ability to sync multiple speakers together. Works great in the backyard covering opposite ends w/out having to blare them. Also- really cool when I recently took 2 golfing in carts. Both carts had the same tunes rather than rivaling eachother.

Sounds great and is very portable. I use it mostly indoors but had it in the backyard and cranked up pretty loud. Still sounded great and was able to hear it for a good distance.

Was planning to get a bluetooth speaker and deciding between this and Bose Soundlink Mini II. Sound wise both are comparable; UE is more omni-directional and loud compared to Bose whereas the latter has more bass. However feature-wise, this speaker just blows my mind. Great battery life, can work with 3 bluetooth connections at a time (simultaneously) and is rugged and waterproof. Also got it at a great price!

The sound is great and I love to sync both of ours together. The only complaint I have is tapping the top twice to change the song does not always work. We toss it around to our kids, we have gotten it wet, and it doesn't vibrate and fall off counters like our jawbone did!

This speaker is amazing! I've heard every UE boom extensively. I have the original UE boom as well. Great Battery life! Much louder than original boom. A recent update came out where you can link 50+ speakers. This great as many of my friends have UE booms. The app makes it much easier to link, then on its own. Only downside is there is a specific app for each speaker, megaboom, ue boom 2, and ue boom.

I bought this after spending much more on a Bose SoundLink Mini since it was on sale at a really great price. It was a tough comparison, but in the end, I wound up returning it simply because I liked the Bose sound slightly better. I'd still recommend this to anyone that wants to save a bit of money vs the Bose, or really wants something that is a bit more rugged and/or water resistant.

I did quite a bit of research into different bluetooth speakers that had great battery life, were decently water-resistant and had good audio quality. After hours of looking into Bose, and Sony, I finally looked into the UE Boom 2 and could not be happier. Fantastic 15 hour battery life, easy pairing for phones and great audio quality and clarity for under $200 makes this a fantastic purchase.

This review is the complete truth. Full device volume combined with full speaker volume makes this speaker one of the loudest in its category and price range. You will not be disappointed. The UE Boom 2 does definitely boom. After testing with a bass heavy hip hop song, I was very impressed. This speaker is well worth the expense if you need a loud and bass-oriented speaker.

    Tap Controls Are Awful

The speaker sounds great. I would give it the slight advantage over my Altec Lansing Mini Life Jacket 3 as far as the quality of sound goes. The speaker looks great. The black and red colors go very well together. It's waterproof, which is a huge plus because you can use it to listen to music while in the shower. There are a lot of things to love about the speaker. So, you may be wondering why I am only giving it 3 stars and not 5. The reason is the same reason why I ultimately decided to return the speaker for a refund. The reason is the tap controls. In order to stop a song from playing or skip to the next song, you have to tap the top of the speaker (once for stop, twice for skip). There are no actual buttons for these functions. Now, this doesn't seem like a big deal, until you actually attempt to do it. It's a complete mess. Half of the time, it reads 2 taps (skip) as 1 tap (stop) and your music just stops playing instead of going to the next song. I need to mention that the button that turns the speaker off is also on the top of the speaker. So, half of the time when you tap the speaker once to stop a song from playing, it turns the speaker off entirely because it thinks you are hitting the power button. Not to mention the fact that in order to get the tap controls to work at all, you don't just have to lightly tap the speaker, you have to hit it, hard. If you tap it gently the way that they show in the UE commercials, half of the time nothing happens at all. It's frustrating beyond belief, especially for someone like me who likes to change songs frequently. Another frustrating thing about the speaker is that there is absolutely no way to skip backward to the previous song. You can skip forward to the next song, but you cannot skip backward to the previous song. Or replay a song. This is extremely annoying and frustrating for me, especially coming from using the Altec Lansing Mini Life Jacket 3, which can do all of these things with ease. Having used that speaker, I know that it's very possible to just put skip forward, skip backward, play, pause, and on/off functionality and still only have 3 buttons on the speaker. That speaker has all of these features and only has 3 buttons (the same amount of buttons that the UE Boom 2 has), so I am baffled as to why UE didn't put the same functionality in their buttons. Overall, it is a good speaker as far as sound quality and aesthetics go, but it does not measure up to other speakers as far as controls go. Unfortunately, that area impacts the listening experience a lot and is a deal breaker for me. Overall, I cannot recommend this speaker.

Used this Bluetooth speaker at a summer daycamp in a large pick nick area. Excellent volume & clarity for the whole group. Played this speaker using Spotify from my Smartphone. Battery life = 15 hours. USB recharges to 100 % in about 1.5 hours. One day the speaker was hit while kids were kicking a soccer all. It cleaned up easily & continued working without any issues.
