hello, I bought this item to be used while on beach, it really underperforms with the waves and wind noises. Then when I crank the volume the life is only 4 hours. I would buy a more powerful speaker, I thought this one would suffice considering the $220 price tag and now I am beyond return date. :( If you offer me a store credit I will upgrade to a larger unit. Thank you

This is my 3rd UE Bluetooth speaker. This my first Megaboom Speaker. Very happy with it. Great sound. Waterproof.

It does float but advertised mega bass witch it does not have and at maximum volume I expected more comparatively based off of price wouldn’t buy again but like it enough not to return it

This speaker is a decent speaker, not great, but OK for the money. the demo in the store sounded better than the sound when I brought the speaker home. Since I plan to use it in my work office, I can live with it, but I would reconsider this purchase if I were planning to use it at home.

I tested so many Bluetooth speakers before settling on this one, after being torn betwiin this and Bose i settled on this one. You just cant beat the price PLUS it was on sale!

Very powerful, great sound quality. Easy to pair more than one speaker. No auxiliary wired input, however.

Was disappointed that this model no longer has an 1/9' audio in & the range seems to be a bit less than the previous model as well

The Ultimate Ears Megaboom 3 bluetooth speaker (it's by Logitech, OK) is being marketed primarily as a portable bluetooth PARTY speaker - something you grab and go with - something you walk around with in your hand - something you can chain with other speakers. And, yes, it is all of those things, but it separates itself from many of the other brands of party speakers by actually daring to have a great sound. Most of these handheld speakers (I’m still trying to understand that concept) either lack volume, or have terrible equalization across their audio spectrum, or they have terrible bass from underperformance or from pushing it past the level of distortion. This one has none of those problems: sound that is strong and clear, faithful audio reproduction, and strong bass that is clean and not overplayed. As long as bluetooth sound has been around, I don’t understand why it seems to be so hard to get the basics right. Operation is simple here - four buttons with obvious functions: on/off, pause/play/next, volume up, and volume down. This unit isn’t designed to answer your phone. The advertised play time for a full battery charge is 20 hours. And the unit is drop-proof (an odd term) from 3 ft. and is waterproof (it floats!). It is curious that the included documents fail to mention the waterproof aspect - I’m only aware of that from the advertisements and from a panel on the exterior of the box - that seems like a kinda big deal (especially the floaty part). The Megaboom 3 is designed to stand upright when it is not in your hand (it is cylindrical). It projects music out in all directions which surely improves the sound profile over competitors who keep low horizontal profiles. And as a nice change of pace, the speaker comes with a USB cable and adapter (that almost never happens these days). The speaker is also designed to charge wirelessly but you must purchase a separate charging disk from Ultimate Ears in order to take advantage of that option (it’s like a coaster that you set the whole cylinder on top of). Naturally, you can use the speaker while it is charging either way. I get that party speakers is a great niche market but I think this speaker really sets itself apart from the crowd by daring to sound really good.

We use it daily. Carries a of punch for such a small speaker. No regrets.

I purchased this without knowing you could pair so many other UE speakers! Went on a trip with friends who also had this speaker and we were jamming throughout the house! it was the coolest thing!

Pretty good overall speaker but after reading all the reviews and the hype about it I gotta say I’m not really that impressed. Maybe I don’t know too much about Bluetooth speaker technology but I didn’t love the sound and didn’t find it too loud go the beach. Quality product though.
