The gameplay is a fun, lite bullet-hell. The characters are compelling, and the story is sure to leave you in tears at times. DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS GAME!

This game is already great to begin with. The game isnt demandeding whatsoever in terms of hardware meaning it has 0 issues on the Nintendo Switch. Its a great game to take on the go.

One of the games on my Christmas list, I purchased this on one of the little cards at the store. I really like this model honestly. I mean, I like the physical cards, plus they can be resold (although I haven't done that in 20+ years) but this has to be better for the environment.
Game is just good fun. And hard. And makes you think. It's really hard to describe. There's this skeleton, and he does stuff? You should try it.

This is a great game. I bought it for a child as a gift. She has played through it 50 some odd times. I asked her why and she showed me. This game is very deep from what it is. Old school gaming feel with so many different endings. But thats not all, there are different play styles also like passive or aggressive. The characters are pretty funny and entertaining.

This is an RPG that’s really a choose your own adventure/interactive story, and that’s ok. The story is great. The RPG tropes, self awareness, and humor are great. If you are a fan of SNES era RPGs you need this! It is pretty normal RPG at first glance, linear at second look, and incredibly deep if you look closer.
There are three endings and the game knows which order you do them in to some extent. Toby Fox makes very creative use of metadata (used to remember your actions for RPG story progression).
Some say to go thru without killing anything first. But I am glad I went through completely blind the first time, playing like a normal RPG. I prefer not using guides with most my games. It was a more pure experience.
Watch the videos after you’ve played thru the normal and the pacifist routes on your own.
If you do decide to go thru without killing, you CAN’T KILL ANYTHING. Yes it can be done. Yes it is a bit tedious. But It’s only an 8 hour game, If you accidentally gain EXP, quit and reload your save.
Get on the fandom wiki or look up the ign pacifist guide. Looking up enemy battle strategies is great as a last resort. Generally these sites are spoiler free, as long as you don’t read too far ahead or only read the battle strategy.
Some spoiler free tips about keeping items.
-Search online for “ What Items Are Important to Keep for Later on?” Spoiler free on redd-it.
-Sell infinite amounts of dog residue in the secret Temmie Town.
Finally go download the sequels, Delta Rune chapters 1 and 2, for free. Yup free. On any console or PC.
Enjoy.

Just wished the real earth bound was on Nintendo Switch like 1 2 and 3 earthbound beginnings or a remaster into a 3D design like what ness and Lucas look like in smash brothers ultimate character designs what beauty it would be like to see the earthbound games in that design type lol anyways I hope for earthbound 4 but I definitely highly recommend all the games Toby Fox makes this game will make you want more of what he makes and the beauty and attention to detail will blow your minds and if you have not played delta rune CHECK IT OUT LOL

Undertale is one of the best games of all time, and it was made all by one man, on one strip of code. PLAY THIS GAME.

Lots of fun! Challenging at times but not impossible depending on the route you take. Multiple endings and the game encourages lots of replaying. The physical comes with a little pamphlet book with the intro story on it for a cute touch. There are some parts of the PC version that are inaccessible on the switch (like going into the game's files) but still very pleased. I've had the digital version for a while now and decided to get it physically as well

Undertale is a popular RPG game I bought because I was curious what it was like. I had watched a lot of gameplay video and wanted to choose my own path. Such a clever “choose your own” gameplay design. I was not disappointed by this version at all. Kudos to the developers and making this game available for on the go switch players. Highly recommended!
Undertale plot: A human child with a unknown gender calls into the underground realm full of monsters. The human child will go
on a adventure to find a way back to the surface realm. The child will meet many friendly monsters from Toriel, the motherly goat
like creature, to Sans and Papyrus, the funny skeleton brothers, to even fish warriors, scientist dinosaurs, robots, all the way to Asgore, the king of monsters. There will be different endings depending on who you kill and spare. 3 frightening endings that depend on violence or mercy. Will you save all monsters or destroy them all? You decide. **WARNING** consequences and judgement
at the end of the game.

Interesting game concept, definitely had me invested from start to finish. I feel it holds up to the praise it’s received thus far. Not a game you’re going to invest months or even weeks into, but a good title to experience for sure.

I didn't 100% know what I was getting into when I dove into this game. Turned out to be a phenomenal experience. Excellent writing, great music, interesting bullet hell mechanics. I have had friends who aren't big gamers eat this game up. It's hard to encompass what I like about this game into this review. If you are on the fence, just take the dive and go for it. I am sure you won't regret it.

Absolute masterpiece, everyone should experience this. Game feels extremely simple but like an onion, it has tons and tons of layers to dig through. Game music is probably the best I've ever heard!

Undertale is a good and unique game, although not without its flaws.
The game play, writing and art are a weird yet mostly successful mix of comedic self-parody and earnestness.
The core fighting mechanic involves controlling a little heart, dodging obstacles to avoid damage. To engage with the enemy, you can choose either to fight or to interact and talk. It's unique, fun, and the game constantly riffs on the concept.
There are a handful of puzzles. They are okay but not inspired.
The writing is full of jokes, meta-humor, and absurdism, and there are a cast of memorable characters. I enjoyed this side of the game a lot.
I found the story mixed, though. The broad strokes of an underground realm of monsters is good, but it's overly complex and confusing, partially due to a reliance on exposition dumps, and there are about twenty endings, which rob the game of its narrative momentum about halfway through and start to grate. I wasn't very emotionally engaged.
The art is very basic, largely in the spirit of self-parody, but about half of the character designs are actually really strong, and there are some pretty environments. However, the other half is pretty bad. Some of the in-world character designs are not even intelligible, and there's an absence of animation which, while joked at, seems lazy.
The music is unreservedly excellent.
Overall, if just due to its sheer oddity, I have to recommend playing this.
