Just needed this unit to run my rear surround speakers as i didnt want gnarly wires running across the room. I've read some reviews that the unit doesnt power the rears enough but that is simply not the case. This unit does the job!

    Great product

I have had this product for over a year now and have had no problems whatsoever. I have never heard any popping sounds while using it. I have never had any issues with connectivity or the rear speakers not putting out as much sound as the front speakers at any sound level. I saw someone was complaining about this product interfering with a wireless network. I had wireless running in my house prior to purchasing the rocketfish and noticed no difference whatsoever since I've been using the rocketfish. .

I don't want to say much, but the system meets all my needs. I have been using it for about 7 months now and it works just as advertised. It saved me running speaker wire through my Man Cave! Everyone once and a while there is a 'pop' but they are few and far between.

I am fortunate I have a brother-in-law that is a computer genius so I have his help in setting up electronics. The RF-WHTIB was a snap, plugged it in and it worked perfectly with my system no snaping our other noises "so simple a cave man can do it, I DID". Sharp LC46D43U, Onkyo HT-S6200, Sony BDP-S560 with Directtv. Best Buy was prompt in delivery will buy more products from them.

    It's good for hiding wires.

I love the fact that my wires for the rear speakers are hidden with this thing. It's nice. But there's some drawbacks. Connecting the rear unit to the unit at the stereo head can be a pain. Turning it off and on again usually does the trick. I just have to do it over and over again. Occasionally there's loud pop/fuzzy sounds. Ruins the sound experience. And when everything is off but the wireless rear speaker kit, it will make these popping noises. Have to turn off the unit at the rear for it to stop.

    Interferes With Computer Wireless

    Posted .

First of all, I AM a Best Buy fan. They do a good job and I shop at Best Buy. The product is super easy to set up. Volume control balances speakers nicely, however this system is the Japanese Fighting Fish of 2.4 G wireless bandwidth. It will fight your Linksys router to the death. Your wireless network will fail after three minutes. Turn off the transmitter and your wireless network shall return. Powering down the wireless speaker adapter and then powering them back up will not solve the problem for more than three minutes. They seem to have veto powers over wireless routers. Remember in Highlander where the quote is, "There can be only ONE!" Same thing. You either get your computer wireless network OR your wireless speakers, BUT not both. I suggest you run wires. Seriously. Our President said, "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, don't get fooled again." I feel equally silly. Are you still reading this? You have the information you need. Run wires. Am I still typing? I am. I am typing in a pool of my own shame. Are you reading this on a home wireless network? Well kiss that goodbye if you purchase this product you are researching. I am not being spiteful here. I'm just really disappointed. Good luck and live with your choice. I did. YOU don't have to.

    Works Great

I bought this item because I wanted to set up another set of speakers in another room of the house. Though they are touted for 'wireless connection of rear speakers for surroundsound", they work GREAT as transmitters for my B Speakers. They have more than adequate power to drive my Pioneer loudspeakers in my pool room. I may get another set and drive speakers in the den. And, I HAVE recommended this product to my friends.

    Not enough power.

    Posted .

I really really was hoping this device would work, running wires is no fun. This device easily hooked up and worked well out of the box. If your need is just getting a little sound to your kitchen or something it is probably fine for low volume uses. or if you need just a few watts of power it would be fine. But if your need is to combine it with a surround sound system and pump any real volume through it, forget it. My system is 100 watts per channel. Every time i turned the volume up even slightly - level 18 of 100,, the unit would shut off. I guess that's a good feature to keep it from blowing up, but makes it obviously useless. At full volume on the knob it would not even come close to matching the other speakers. Sorry, this one goes back to BB. Glad they have a good return policy.

    Works Great for Remote Speakers

Works great on a second set of Bose Acoustimass speakers located in a remote room in my home. I have not been able to install wire to run these so Best Buy suggested I try the Rocketfish and we couldn't be more pleased. Rocketfish just needs to eliminate the giant red light on the receiver (I still can't figure out why they did that).

    Dead out of the box

I have and had used the Rocketfish wireless subwoofer kit for a couple years so I thought this kit for the rear speakers would be great. These things are pretty simple to connect. Sadly, it was dead out of the box. Blue link lights came on but no sound would come through despite any amount of checking various things. Receiver is a Sony STRDN1080. Speaker system I'm using is Bose Acoustimass 10 Series II. First setup choice had sound signal going from RCVR to the Bose sub, then to the Rocketfish... no sound. Second setup was to bypass the Bose sub and connect from RCVR to Rocketfish... still no sound. Tried resetting sound calibration on RCVR... still nothing. Boxed up the Rocketfish to return to store for a refund.
