    Worthless Piece of Junk

I bought this product along with a Yamaha RX-V661BL receiver from Best Buy. A configuration recommended on BestBuy.com. Without the Rocketfish unit, all speakers including the rear ones in the the surround system worked just fine. With the Rocketfish unit hooked up, the Rocketfish transmitter and the Yamaha receiver would shut off every time sound was sent to the rear speakers. I exchanged the original Rocketfish unit for a new one at Best Buy (no problem, Best Buy was very helpful) and the new unit has the exact same problem. Rocketfish technical support was totally useless. I give up. I am going to get a refund at Best Buy tonight.

    Not reliable product

I purchased this item to connect the rear speakers of my 5.1 Pioneer surround sound. The first item was faulty, I returned it, got another and had the same problem. The issue with both units was that only one rear channel would work at a time. For example the left speaker would work and not the right. So I would swap the wires on the receiver and then the right would work and not the left. So I knew the speakers were working correctly. Then I tried swapping the wires on the transmitter and the same issue. Finally I tried a front speaker hard-wired to the stereo thinking that maybe just one of the outputs of the stereo was bad; but the front speaker still worked. So that eliminated the issue being with the stereo. The only thing that remained was a faulty wireless system. Very disappointed with the product. Highly do not recommend wasting your time trying this. Not sure how satisfied I would be if it would've worked - but done trying. Worst experience with a product from Best Buy ever - and I have many products from Best Buy!

    Doesn't Work as Advertised

I was looking for a wireless solution to my surround sound speakers and purchased this system with high hopes. Everything connected great and all lights came on but no sound came from speakers. I tried multiple combinations and even exchanged system for another but had the same results. Very disappointing.

Not compatible with LG surround sound (Model LHB53

Bought this item 2 days ago, brought it home and connected it. When we powered it on, the main box (sender box) would not stay on. I called Rocketfish customer care and they said it must be faulty. Returned the item and got a new one. Connected it and did the same thing. The power button would stay on unless I had one rear speaker wire connected. But as soon as I connected the second rear it would shut off. Called customer care again and was told AGAIN it must be faulty (hard to believe twice in a row). Finally called LG to verify my surround sound specs and was told the system is not compatible with any item that was not specifically made for my model. Not sure if it’s true for all LG models (since the store associate said it is compatible with LG), but if you have the LHB535, don’t waste your time buying the Rocketfish. I didn’t want to give this product a one star, but I can't give it 5 stars.

    Rocketfish Works Kinda

I purchased the Rocketfish along with a 5 piece Klipsch speaker system. The rocketfish needs to be manually turned on/off in the front every time you want to use the system otherwise the speakers will hum when the receiver is turned off. I found too much hum in general. I returned the unit. Best Buy refunded my money with no problems!

    "Connects" but no audio

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The light status of each device claims it is "connected" but absolutely no audio would go through (yes I turned up the volume on the sender). The test tones for my receiver would cause the sender device to actually make a rapid clicking sound. I suspect this is not good, although I could conceive of a properly functioning device perhaps being a bit noisy. However, it simply won't function. The rear speakers work fine when connected directly with the same wires, but not when using this RocketFish device. I may just have a defective device, but since I'm 1.5 hours away from nearest Best Buy now I'm no longer patient enough to exchange it and perhaps have to return it yet again. So, I'm just returning it and getting a refund.

    Misleading product info

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

If you're buying this to "eliminate ugly and cumbersome wires" as the product states, don't buy it. I didn't look into the details before buying on-line (shame on me), so the claim to elimate wires is misleading. There is only one receiver that you still need to connect both speakers to with wire. So it only eliminates wire between the home theatre and the rear receiver, but you still have to run wires from the rear receiver (which needs to be near an outlet) to each speaker. So unless your rear speakers are right next to each other, which I doubt, you still have the pain of running wire between the rear receiver and each speaker. Once again, had I done more research before buying, I would have found this out and not purchased the product.

    Great for anything but movies/music...LOL

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I gave this one star only because giving it ZERO stars wasn't possible. Any decent level of bass will cause the receiver to shut off automatically. Unfortunately for me, I was lazy at setting this up because I bought it before I moved and went over the return policy limit (my own fault obviously). If you have super sensitive hearing (dog like), maybe this could work, but if you want to watch a movie or listen to music and there is even a little bass, this will automatically shut off. I do blame Best Buy for the product failure however because the sales guy recommended the product to me.....which shows poor knowledge of their products.

    Couldn't get it to work

I was excited to try this product with new home theater system (nothing fancy, RCA 5.1 system). I found it easy to connect and there was a strong signal detected by the surround-sound speakers, but despite trying multiple connections to different devices, I could not get any sound to come through. In frustration I returned this and purchased the Rocketfish wireless speaker system. Its RCA type plugs necessitated the purchase of some pricey adpating speaker wires. Now that it's hooked up, I like it fine, however.

    Simply would not work

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Despite numerous attempts at wiring and re-doing everything; replaced all speaker wire with new wire and tested every possible connection all for nothing. Direct wiring the speaker obviously worked fine the minute we try to put this wireless in the service total waste of time. The rep at Best Buy said I must've just got a bad unit because he sells a lot of them but it didn't work for me.

Periodic "pops" in the rear speakers. These are very loud sometimes and I am concerned about speaker damage. It is now disconnected and I have to figure out how to return it <sigh>.

    supposed to be wireless

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is supposed to allow you to have wireless speakers. You still have wires that are so short you cannot even hang them. One unit you hook up to receiver and the other you are supposed to receive signal. You have to connect speakers to the second unit using the speaker wires. What is the point of wireless if you still have wires.

I purhcased two rocketfish wireless speaker systems two years ago and neither work. Both were in safe places within my house where there is no water or any other item that could damage them. I called rocketfish to receive a reply (from a foriegn worker) that they only come with a 365 day warrenty and I am out of luck.

I spent considerable hours with the technical support voice and emails telling me to change speaker cable, etc, and that the equipment will work with Time Warner cable box. It turned out to be that when I finally returned the equipment that it does not work with cable box audio input based on the salesperson advice.

Sounds like a great Idea to have rear speakers with no wires to run. Too bad this unit simply does not work. I've tried it with 2 receivers I have (1 is a new Sony) and one at the neighbors. Unit did not work at all no matter what the configuration was. Piece of junk.

    Not Enough Power

    Posted .

This product only has 20 watts of power per channel. the rear speakers can not be heard unless you hold them to your ear. it has a volume control on it but even if you turn all the way up it has no sound. If you want to run rear speakers run a wire to them.
