Living in an apartment can make things difficult for those of us that enjoy surround sound, especially when it comes to running wires! Being a techy and understanding wireless technology, I was a little skeptical as to what interference this system might create and the possible degradation to audio quality. To say the least, I am very pleased with what this product offers. For what I was looking for, it has surpassed my expectations and am looking forward to adding a third kit for outside audio! To give you some background, I am using an Onkyo HT-S6300 7.1 surround sound receiver that can actually function as a 7.1 system with 2 more speakers set as a second zone(audio in another room) or as a 9.1 surround sound system. The issue that I have is that I need to provide audio to 4 surround speakers while not having to run wires across a floor. Two of these kits provided me with the solution as I used one kit for Surround Left and Surround Back Left and another for Surround Right and Surround Back Right. Both work great together without any interference and helped resolve my issue with cable running. Next step is to get a third kit and use it for running audio into the kitchen or bedroom by connecting it to Zone 2 on the receiver. This will allow me to watch TV while letting the wife listen to music in the other room.

Setup was very easy. Needed to use two (2) Speaker Kits as I have a 7.1 system and have four rear speakers. The transmitters are about twelve inches apart and the speaker receivers are about three (3) feet apart. No Issues with communication for both units transmitting different sounds. Sound quality is very good. If you are looking at eliminating those wires going across the floor this is your solution. At the rear speakers you will more then likely have to adjust the volume on the receiver for your listening pleasure. Just a turn of the dial and you're good. I was concerned after reading a few of the reviews, took a chance and I'm happy I did. Very Satisfied and the System works much better than expected. For the price you will not be disappointed.

    The perfect solution

I purchased a complete Klipsch 5.1 surround system with a Sony 7.1 1015W receiver. The rear surround speakers are wired and it is not possible for me to run the wires from the receiver location to the back of the room without them being visible or having to use cable ducts. I thought I could just return the rear speakers and get the wireless set, but I soon learned that the wireless ones cannot be used as surround speakers. The helpful blueshirt recommended the Rocketfish wireless rear speaker kit for my application. I was skeptical of the sound quality thinking the sound delay would be too noticeable and weak. I didn't have another option so I gave it a shot. I already ran wiring, 120VAC and 16G Monster speaker wire, from RR and LR so setting up the wireless kit was done in 10 minutes. I don't claim to be an expert in music or sound but I know what sounds good and I cannot tell a difference between using the wireless kit and having the rear speakers directly wired to my receiver. There is no hiss, no noticeable delay, no interference and since the wireless receiver has a built-in AMP, it's more than powerful enough to run both of my rear speakers. As a matter of fact, using this kit gives me a little more control over volume, as the wireless receiver has its own volume nob. I can control the rear volume independently through my receiver, so the last point really wasn't a big selling point for me but it's nice to have. I wish I didn't have to run speaker wire from left to right, but for me it wasn't that much more work. So far, that is the only con I have found with this system. I am thoroughly pleased and would recommend this to anyone even if they don't need their rear speakers to be wireless.

This is not worth it. The transmitter that goes into the receiver has to be in line of sight to work. There is no remote to turn on/off the transmitter or receiver therefore they have to be accessible. These inconveniences make the wireless factor mute.

This product did what it said it does and seemed to be a really good buy. I was very close to getting a couple more pair of speakers and another wireless receiver until I realized it would suddenly have volume fluctuations and cut in/out of sound. Upon looking further, even receiving a phone call on my cell phone would cause the receiver to malfunction and distort the noise. It was also noticeable if my laptop or other wireless devices were near. I have a wireless network bridge near my AV receiver, so this became a huge problem. I returned it and will just deal with wires for now.

If you don’t hear audio from the rear speakers

After reading several reviews, I had mixed feelings. It seemed that several people complained about no audio from the rear speakers when everything was connected correctly…. I have to admit that I also had this problem when I first connected my rear speakers to the RocketFish Receiver. The solution was simple; I had reversed the Sender and the Receiver boxes. In my defense, the drawing in the directions show the two boxes as the same size. And neither box is labeled. So, the most important thing to remember is that the smaller box is the “Sender” and the larger box is the “Receiver”. Once everything was connected properly, the audio from the rear speakers was just as good as a wired connection. For $99, this is well worth the money.

Good price great salesman horses**t product. Gave receiver and transmitter overnight to connect. Never did. I took the transmitter from my old rocketfish along with the new receiver and they hooked-up instantly. So I paid $100 for a new system but I have a 5 year old transmitter, I guess that means I have a new 2and1/2 year old system. WHAT A DEAL! Thanks Best Buy. Maybe that should be Notsogood Buy

    Great system for reducing wires

I just installed my second wireless rear speaker system and felt that I should finally review this system. The first system that I set up, I used for my rear surround speakers and I have had a no-hassel experience for a little more than two years now. It was a breeze to set up; hook the sending unit to the rear of your A/V receiver's surround speaker L/R out via the supplied speaker wires, connect the receiving unit to your rear speakers (these speaker wires are not included#, plug both units into the wall, turn them on, hold the connect button on the receiving unit until the lights go solid and you're ready to roll. Now this system does not make your rear speakers completely wireless as you do have to have some wire going from the receiving unit to the speakers, but this should be a pretty small distance...definitely less than running from A/V receiver to rear of the room. I have had no issues with signal being interupted (my set up has the two units about 25 feet apart and the receiving unit is in a cabinet, out of "view" from the sending unit). I have had no issues with the sound quality. The second system I just hooked up yesterday works just as well...I am using that from my receiver's Zone 2 speaker out to some outdoor speakers on my patio. In this set up, the receiving unit is about 35 feet from the sending unit but it is through a wall outside and the only issue that I have noticed is that the initial "connection" (synching) took a little longer but I have not noticed any lack of power or signal loss so far. I was worried that having two of the same systems plugged into the same A/V receiver going to two different sets of speakers might not work (would the signals from each sending unit be distinct enough to work independently from each other?), but it absolutely works perfect. Before I bought this, I did contact Rocketfish directly to ask this question and the guy there said that it work; this little customer service nugget definitely also helped me decide to write this (lengthy) review. All in all, this is a great system for reducing rear speaker wires. Again, in my two set-ups, I can only speak to quality of signal up to 35' (not near the 100' as advertised, which is why I only rated the "range" as "good"), but I think that this works great. I could have easily given this 5 stars, but the $100+ price tag I think is a little too high (maybe I'm just cheap), though I have not seen many comprable systems at this price point...maybe I should've given this 5 stars. Enjoy!
