Our house is on a concrete slab. We recently went from carpet where I had run my rear speaker wire under to vinyl plank flooring. I spent lots of time trying to figure a way to get wires to my rears but couldn't find a solution. This kit is a miracle and works great. I cut the bottom of my baseboard trim for the wires from the receiver to the rear speakers. Yes you must wire the rears but no need for wires across the room to the transmitter. I had to turn the volume all the way up on the receiver to get the volume I liked but other than that this kit gets 5 stars. I bought open box and saved alot. It didn't appear to ever been opened. Very happy.

This is a must buy if you do not want speaker wires running through your ceiling, along your walls, or under your carpet. The sound quality is just as good as it is with wired speakers. It's easy to set up and easy to sync. I have my base connected to my amplifier in the middle of my room and the receiver for the rear speakers on the floor beside my couch not in direct line of the base. The system has no problems compensating for slight obstructions. This product is HIGHLY recommended.

Not much more...Pretty much the only option out there but easy to set up and OK for the price...Can't plug in more than two speakers in it so if you have 7.1 you need two units + the speakers loose signal sometimes without notice. They come back on in a few seconds but it's a little annoying... they are bulky for having two units but I LOVE being able to have my surround sound w/out wires all over the place... the speaker wires do not work with my Blu-ray receiver because the speaker plugs have attachments so I just used the wire that came with them for connecting to the transmitters... which they are too short for but I worked it out.

I NEVER fill out reviews, but this product was so great I had to do it. I have an open floor plan in the basement which I have a workout room and a home theater. I wanted speakers in my workout room so I could really hear the music when working out. I ran music thru Onkyo amplifier and then to Rocketfish. I already had speakers to use just needed a way to get the music to the workout room. This product did the trick! I was happily surprised that there was no delay in the music being sent wireless to the speakers in the workout room. I can blast the music thru my home theater and to the additional speakers and everything is in unison. The quality of the music is great as well. I usually listen to Sirius or play music from my ps3. Great product! Technology is amazing!

I purchased this product about 2 years ago. I live in an apartment and always rearrange my furniture. This product allowed me to move my rear surround speakers anywhere I wanted without the fuss of running wires from the receiver. The sound quality is pretty good for being it is a wireless signal. I got this as a gift but I would've spent the money to get it. Since the units are wireless you still have speaker wires running to your rear speakers. Also I would rather the bigger box be at the receiver instead of the other way around. This does make it difficult to hide when setting up the surround sound. These are the only faults but then again, you get what you pay for! Once I get a house I am going to use this to easily set up some speakers outside my patio.

This kit works really good for the price and is very easy to put together. Although this allows you to place your rear speakers far from the rest of your home theater sytem without running any wires in between, you still have to run the wires between the rear speakers and the receiver unit of this kit, not to mention the power cable. The speakers have to be close to the receiver in order not to have as much wires showing. In the ideal setting, it doesn't look that bad (i.e. have the rear speakers behind your couch. The receiver, in between both speakers, on a table or underneath your couch so you can run the cables underneath). You'll have to figure it out but make sure you have a clear idea of how this will look in your place before purchasing. Really good product otherwise.

For convenience and reliability, this kit can't be beat.
Setting the unit up was extremely easy and didn't require any special tools or skills. It worked immediately, right out of the box, the first time I powered it up. The sound quality is excellent and any issues with delay should be easy to compensate for on a decent sound system.
I've also relocated my sound system several times in the last year and the reduced hassle alone (no running and pulling and rerunning wiring each time) makes this unit worth it. Since all it requires it normal power, I also don't have to hassle with keeping spare batteries around or charging rechargables every week or so.
Anyone who is claiming problems with their wireless network should be able to change to a different channel and eliminate any interference. As a computer tech who telecommutes frequently I use a wireless network and have a number of wireless devices that I use on a regular basis, and I haven't had a single problem with any of them interfering with or receiving interference from the kit.
There are a number of reviews that report problems with the unit causing interference but it's clear theat most didn't bother to do any troubleshooting, they just bailed at the first sign of difficulty. Just a little initiative and a few minutes of work would likely have resolved most problems.
Overall this is one of the the best consumer-level solutions for wireless speakers that I have seen and I have recommended it to several people, all of whom have been completely satisfied with it as well. It's worth the money.

I did not have a problem connecting and the receiver is about 12 feet away. I did however have a problem with the sound lag but was able to adjust that. The setup was a snap. My only knock is the length of the speaker cables provided. They are about 2 feet long, not nearly long enough. No problems with interference, my wireless router is near by. Sound quality is good for a wireless setup, it will no be the same as a hard wire connection. Overall it's a great solution if you don't want to have wires all over your great room. Other than that I thought the price was a little steep.

The Rocketfish wireless system works as advertised.
It's easy to set up and with my rear surround speakers the sound quality is good. You can wall mount the receiver/amplifier, which I did behind a lounge chair, so it's out of the way. The only problem is that the slots used in wall mounting require the unit to face downward, would have been nice to have multiple slots configured so you can mount it in the direction desired.
The cable connections on both the transmitter and receiver/amp are of the push type. 16 gauge wire fits fine, and maybe even 14 guage would work. Since a long run of wire probably won't be required, this shouldn't be an issue.
The only other thing that is an issue (a small one) is that the transmitter either has to be on all the time, or you have to turn it on each time. The way it is, if you plug it into a switched outlet on your systems receiver, when you turn your system reciever off, the Rocketfish turns off and even when you turn your system receiver back on, it remains off. You have to turn it on separately each time you turn your receiver on.

I got this after much debate on whether or not I wanted to run the wires from my receiver along the wall to rear speakers, since that's not really hard to do, or go w/ a wireless set up to avoid having to do any "real" work. After Christmas I got this w/ my Best Buy gift cards and haven't been sorry. Up until this point I was running all 5 of my speakers from the entertainment stand - not true surround sound at all - but after setting this up we are now IN the movies, TV shows, and even Football stadiums and we love it. I don't know what the main difference between this system, seemingly an older model, and Rocketfish's new "HD Audio" system - but this works just FINE for my 5.1 setup from a Onkyo A/V receiver.

My friend picked up this system a few days before I did and seemed pleased with his purchase. Not recognizing the name brand, I did a little research online and found all but one review to be very positive about this product (the one negative one is listed here on the Best Buy site). I purchased the product the next day and found it to be easy to hook up. I turned it on and everthing "linked up" as advertised and the speakers were working just fine. I had to go into my home theater setup and boost the power to the speakers, but after I did that the sound was great. I have not had any of the problems with a hum coming from the speakers when my home theater system is off (as some reviews mentioned). The only reason I didn't give this product five stars is because you do have to manually turn the system on and off. Honestly though, it's a small annoyance. The product works great for both music and movies and is a steal at $99.99. When it comes down to it, the performance of the system far outweighs having to switch it on and off by hand.

The unit itself was easy to install. Not completely wireless than again it was never advertised as such. Relieves me of having to run speaker wires back, up and around everything to get where I need them.
On a side note. When I first hooked this up, I had about an hour of frustration on why my receiver wasn't even recognizing that I had back speakers.... Just when I was ready to throw something out the window, it hit me like an epiphany... In a 7.1 surround system (at least on my receiver) the speakers are Front L,R center, sub, and Surround R,L (not Surround Back L.R which I thought it was). so when doing a 5.1 setup on a 7.1 receiver remember the surround back speakers are the extra two.... Hope this makes sense.
Anyway about the unit itself. easy to install, and the sound is pretty darn good.

This product was easy to setup. Also bought the sanus speaker stands. They work very well. My brother in law was at my home when I set this up, he also thought the sound was excellent.
I has to write this review because it works much better than I expected. I used speakers from Cambridge Soundworks. I even got the 4 year extended protection. A home theater company was going to charge me $500.00 to run the cables for the surround speakers. For $109.00, this was a far better soultion.

Bought this so I don't have to run speaker cable from my receiver to my rear surround speakers. Used it for a couple of days and here are my thoughts.
Pros:
* It sends audio to rear surround sound speakers.
* easy to install.
* It is cheap.
Cons:
* You get what you pay for.
* The amplifier on the receiving unit is garbage. 20 Watts per channel peak at 10% THD according to spec sheet. It will make your $200 speakers sound like a pair of $20 speakers.
* Hiss coming out of speaker at all times when the unit is on.
* Speaker pop some times when you power up or down.
I returned mine and ran speaker cable direct to my rear surround sound through the ceiling. If you care at all about your audio quality, this is not for you.

I absolutely love this. It eliminates the need for having to run wires all the way to the rear speakers which, as everyone knows, is a HUGE pain. The ease of setup is fantastic and the sound quality is good considering it's wireless. But. My biggest issue with this product is that it interferes with my wireless internet. If I have my laptop in any part of the room where this is turned on, the internet will start flipping on and off. Apparently the wireless signal that connects the sender to the reciever somehow interferes with wireless internet signal and I'm repeating myself. Sorry. Ease of use and the fact that it actually works. A+. But this thing with the internet is pretty annoying. Would I recommend it to a friend? Probably, just be aware of the wireless internet issue. Otherwise! Great product! And a great start into a technology that we should have had ages ago! (Maybe make it Bluetooth? I dunno if that would help the internet issue)

Plug and Play, no for real!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
There are very few things that I have run across that are truly plug and play. This unit was for me. I used it on my new Sony surround sound system. I have a downstairs den with no pre-wires for rear speakers. The rear speakers are only 15 feet, at most, from the sound receiver, so the range was not an issue for me. I followed the easy directions and it just worked. The only adjustment I made was to set the volume on the receiver unit (at the rear speakers). Some have cited problems with radio interference with other devices. (Best I can tell this is a WiFi device). I have a WiFi network and a 5.8 GHz cordless phone in my home. There has been no interference between all these devices.
Also, some have said that it is a downside that the receiver unit must be plugged into a wall outlet. It is true that it must be plugged in, but its not clear how else it could be powered. Batteries would not last long since the receive unit is the amplifier for the rear surround speakers. Solar power wouldn't work indoors (okay, a poor attempt at humor). We just leave the unit on all the time and have had no problems. It must be reset if there is a power outage, which I have not experienced since buying this unit.

Excellent Value Wireless Speaker Kit

Before I bought this product, I had said to my friend, I wish there was some gadget that I could connect right to the speaker output terminals of my AV receiver to connect my rear speakers instead of having to run wires either throught my attic or my crawlspace, but I doubt such a thing exists. After checking a number of online stores, I was thrilled to find BestBuy had this kit.
As I mentioned earlier, it was a very quick and simple set-up (took less than 10 minutes.) It connected and worked right out of the box exactly as I hoped it would.
In my living room, the sender and receiver units are only seven feet apart, so I can't comment on the distance issue - at 7' there is no problem whatsoever.
I do not notice any sound 'lag' due to the time the wireless signal takes to reach and be processed by the rear amp/speakers.
As others mentioned, it would be nice if the receiving unit sensed that the sending unit was powered on and off so that I don't need to turn it on and off separately - but, this is only a very minor issue.
The sound quality is really good and I believe this product was well-worth the price.

This kit is an excellent value and great for those rooms where surround wires are impractical. They power my Klipsch Quintet speakers nicely, although I think the sound quality may not be quite as pure as with conventional wires. I can hear a trace of white noise from speakers when powered on. Also, I'm having trouble calibrating my speaker system; I get an error message when doing the auto calibration, and I think this is due to a delay with the wireless receiver. I'm sure there's a way to correct for this, just haven't had time to figure it out. However, movies & music sound great, and I like the volume control to increase or decrease surround volume. I wish it had binding posts or some better connection for wires--this seems kind of cheap. Oh well, for the price you can't go wrong. You could easily spend this much on speaker wire for a large room, not to mention the extra work installing it!
