Realitively inexpensive compared to running wires.

Setup was simple, and went off without a hitch. The sound quality is to my ear the same as it was when these speakers were wired, the difference being that now the speakers are actually behind us instead of in front of us since we didn't have to run cables to them behind the sofa. Our house is a bit odd in that where we have the sofa (the only place to put the sofa) there is not a power outlet, so we have to run an extension cord from the nearest bedroom, along the base boards and behind the sofa to power the unit. I can only think that it would have been grand if the unit would have run on 4 or 6 DD batteries, I know for the most part that battery life would probably be super short or maybe not even possible, but it would have been much nicer for us. I can only imagine that running the speaker cables into the attic and down the walls would probably be easier for people that have no power outlet nearby to where this unit will be setting, and they don't wish to see an extension cord running along the baseboards of their home. Anyway, it seems to be a solid unit so far and IM pleased with it. It really couldn't have been any eaiser to finally get the rear speakers where they belong (behind us on the sofa).

Great audio from a wireless surround kit!

I bought a new house recently and when I moved in, I realized I had a dilemna: there was no way I could run my surround speaker wire to the rear speakers without it cutting straight across the living room. With hardwood floors, I couldn't even run it under the carpet. I have a high-end audio system and had heard bad things about wireless speaker kits. SInce poor surround was better than no surround, I opted to try out the Rocketfish wireless kit with my Klipsch speakers. I was not disappointed. It took about 10 minutes to set it all up and the receiver and transmitter units are small enough to be discrete, yet effective. Line of sight is recommended, but not absolutely necessary. I have a pretty sensitive ear for noise and I have noticed no loss of fidelity and quality, even with Blu-Ray movies with this system. I recommend it to anyone who requires a wireless surround sound solution to their home theater.

Worked Great for 3 Months, Now it is Failing

I purchased this back in October of 2015 (I'm writing this review in Jan of 2016) and it worked great for 3 months. After the three months were up, the speakers started cutting in and out. Usually if I toggled the device off and on again, this would resolve the issue. Now it will work more often than not but there will be static in the speakers connected to this device. I have not purchased a replacement yet so I do not know another brand that would be better. If you are looking for a product like this, spend extra money to get a decent brand that will last longer than 3 months. If you own the place you're living in, it is best to get a physical connection to all speakers however you can. I'm using this because I live in a rented space and cannot pull up carpet or install in-wall wiring.

    No Interference problems

My biggest worry about going with a wireless rear speaker kit was interference from cell phones, cordless phones, wireless network and even the microwave. Thankfully this product withstood all of them. Sound was also good, no distortion detected and no humming noises that I've experienced with other similar products..

    Works as I expected

My previous surround speakers were hardwired up through the ceiling and across the attic. Not this time. My son had a similar set up and recommended it. I wasn't all that convinced after seeing some of the issues noted in reviews, but can happily report none of those quibbles apply to my set up. There's no noises coming from the rear speakers, the sound field is excellent, and I am a satisfied customer. It's not completely wireless, as you do have to run wires from the rear box to the speakers, but that really shouldn't come as any surprise to anyone.

    Pretty Good Product

This product works as advertised, and works very well. The only issue I really have is that if your rear speakers' impedance rating does not match that of the Rocketfish amp then you will experience some annoying popping sounds coming from your rear speakers from time to time. However, if you keep the amp volume down to 3/4 max and below you should not hear too much of the popping, and it should not be a problem for you. If you are like me, you are willing to put up with this minor distraction in exchange for the benefits of being able to connect your rear surround speakers wirelessly, especially at this cost. Good buy - I recommend it.

This was just what I was looking for. I have wall to wall carpeting so I needed a way to hook up my rear speakers without running wires from my audio receiver. I did my research. Not too many other products that work this well in this price range. Overall I am very happy with it and would recommend it highly.

    Great wireless surround-sound driver

Very good product; easy to install and use. The only complaint I have, albeit it a minor one is that I wish that there were receivers to attach to the surround-sound speakers, so that I don't have wires running across the walls. Having said that, the end result in sound is terrific!

When I moved to my new house I did not set up my surround sound because my living room wasn't set up well to run wires all over. So I went four LONG months using the speakers from my tv as my only sound source. (I had to play the Halo 3 Beta without surround sound.) I considered buying a new surround sound package from Sony that had wireless rear speakers, or buying a Bose surround system then purchasing their optional wireless receiver that can be connected to the rear speakers but I really wanted to keep the current Klipsch speakers I already had and this product lets me do that. Now I can enjoy all of my Xbox 360 games and DVDs in surround sound without having a mess of wires running across my living room. I've had the Rocketfish wireless rear speaker kit now for 4 weeks and I can't tell any difference in the sound quality from when I had the speakers wired to my receiver, to now with them being wireless. I would highly recommend this product to anyone and now I can't wait to hear how Halo 3 will sound in 5.1 Dolby Digital.

Solid solution for nearly wireless rear speakers

    Posted .

This wireless rear speaker kit works well to power my definitive technology BP2x rear speakers which are fairly powerful speakers. The setup was simple, just plug the rear speaker wires from the receiver into the sender. Place the receiver at the back of the room and plug it into the wall. Connect rear speakers to the receiver and turn both sender and receiver on. I detected no signal noise, interference or degradation. The sound from the rear speakers is clean and well defined. I did however think that the sound was thinner than I normally experienced when connected directly to the receiver. The wattage available is only about 20 watts per channel so if you have inefficient speakers or the rear speakers are placed far from the listening position then this system is not for you.

Overall it is a great unit. Easy to install & sounds great. The only problem I had was finding a good wall outlet to use to plug the box into. Would definently recommend to someone not wanting to run wires all over the place.

    Excellent solution for rear speakers

I have been using this product for 8 months and love it. I used to have to run wires on the ground along a wall to hookup my rear speakers, kind of unsightly. Now I only have to run wires behind my couch to either rear speaker, where the wires are out of sight. Setup could not have been easier, and the sound quality is no different than when I ran wires directly to those speakers. I use a LOT of WiFi products in my house: Airport extreme 802.11n base station, AppleTV for streaming media, iPhone, two laptops, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, and also a 900MHz cordless phone. I can tell you that I have had absolutely no interference in these speakers, no hum, no buzzes, nothing. I highly recommend this product for those who want a home theater setup with rear speakers but don't want to have to run cords on the ground or through walls, or pay exorbitant prices for completely wireless speakers (I looked into this). Relatively cheap and very easy solution for rear speaker hookup.

We recently moved into a new townhouse and I wanted a 5.1 home theater set-up. I didn't want to run wires to the rear speakers so I started looking into wireless speakers (Panasonic and Sony). I wasn't too happy with the reviews on these wireless HTIB's, so I was excited to stumble upon the Rocketfish Wireless Kit. Knowing this product was available, I was able to look at much higher quality speakers. I ended up buying Orb Audio speakers and am happy to say Rocketfish works exactly as advertised. I have cordless phones and wireless internet in the same room, and never have any interference problems. My source is a PS3/Blu-ray player, and the wireless Orbs sound fantastic with Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio pumping through them. I can hear a slight hum when the speakers are off, but only when I place my ear directly on the speaker. Overall I am very happy with this product and the price makes for a good value as well.

I bought this because I now live in an apartment that lets me hang stuff on the walls and i didnt want an eyesore of wires running across my floor or on my ceiling. GREAT IDEA however, i had to go buy a new router for my wireless internet because of interference. If you get this product you MUST own a dual-band router..and use the 5gHz setting. otherwise you will hear clicking, hissing, and other sounds of the like coming from your speakers - or you will not be able to connect to your internet...I still recommend this product as it is a solution to a very common problem, but I do advise people to upgrade their routers if need be.

Imagine this...a product that does what it should do for a fair price. Best buy has a real winner here. If it broke tomorrow I would buy another one! No hum with my unit purchased 10/4/07. My room is 30 ft in length and the sound is great with no interference or noise.

I wanted a wireless speaker set for my bedroom so that I wouldn't have to run ugly speaker wires to the back of the room. This kit was easy to install and works wonderfully. You just connect the transmitter to the speaker outputs on your stereo, and connect your rear speakers to the receiver on the other side of the room. Press a couple of buttons to get the two units to sync, and you're done.

This unit works as advertised with an easy setup and good range. The downside is the speaker wire connections which are somewhat flimsy. Don't use speaker wire that is over 16 gauge.
