I bought this kit to power my rear surround speakers where I cannot use a wired connection. I was impressed by the simplicity of use and that I could my current rear speakers making it an excellent choice. Only issue is that when they are on, the signal interferes with the wireless network reception on my BluRay player. So when I can use it works beautifully!

easy set up and great results

I recently purchased the Rocketfish transmitter / receiver system to create a wireless rear speaker network with my existing speakers. (Recent renovations made wire placement difficult.) I also purchased the Acoustic Research Wireless Speakers (900 MHz) to use in a second room. Both wireless products are excellent, with no contamination from my wireless internet, four cordless phones, wine refrigerator, or other devices. Each piece was easy to set up and the results are exactly what I hoped for. The Rocketfish system is perfect for someone who has a decent set of rear satellite speakers and who doesn't want to run wires from an audio device to these rear satellites. Great job, Rocketfish.

Great solution for wireless rear speakers

Although the first unit I purchased developed a "popping" sound out of one side of the receiver, Customer Service got right on it and ordered another unit. This unit works flawlessly and delivers, as promised. I will purchase another one for my 2nd theater system. It is just so much easier than trying to hide the wiring. Very satisfied.

    Fair transmission of Audio

I purchased this to add some speakers in my kitchen area approx. 30" from the TV. Setup was pretty easy, but you need to use thin wires for the connectors to hold. I added two Polk Audio outdoor speakers to the receiver part, but had to turn the volume all the way up. The amp in the receiver is not real powerful. Expected a little bit more from the amp than it can produce. It does do what I need and may require a different speaker to produce a greater sound volume.

    Resolved Our Problem

We're not audiophiles - we got this in order to deflect the sound to the back and by our ears when sitting instead of requiring the TV to blast loudly and be heard over the entire house (due to our home acoustics). ONce I figured out how to set it up, it worked exactly as I had anticipated and is a great addition to our den TV. I just wish I could figure out how to turn on this speaker system at the same time as I turn on the TV and did not have to manually lower the volume all the way down on the TV.

I wanted to add rear speakers to my receiver without running long wires. This is just what I was looking for. It works great. I haven't experienced any of the problems reported by others e.g. humming sounds, interference, etc.. I have my portable telephone answering machine setting on the wireless speaker receiver and don't have any problems. I should point out that my portable telephone works on the 5Ghz range not the 2Ghz range. I bought it when it was on sale for $20 off, which I feel is a good price. I was also very pleased with the online purchasing experience and how quick the shipping was.

    Impressive sound for wireless

We were hesitant to go wireless because of sound quality, however, we have moved into a rental home and we don't have the ability to run wires like we used to have. After a little fiddling around and with the reciever's sound balancing ability we got the rear speakers hooked up and balanced. The sound was great and now we don't have wires running around our room.

    Gets the job done

For $100, you really can't beat this product -- I have a new Sony HTIB system, and hooked the rear speakers up with this system, and I'm very impressed with the sound -- before I hooked both the left and rear surround channels to the wireless system, I just hooked the right rear to the wireless rocketfish system and left the left rear "wired" to the sony to compare the two sides -- the "wired" side was a little louder, but when I adjusted the sound levels to match, I couldn't really tell (with 5.1 programming and music) which was wired and which was wireless. ** When you shut the AV system off, and the Rocket fish sending unit and receving unit are still on, there is a low level "humm" from the rear channels ** Apparently, after reading up online about this issue, Rocketfish has resolved this issue by incorporating some resistors into the 2 foot cables that connect the AV receiver to the Rocketfish sending/transmitting unit. Apparently, those who've already received and implemented these wires are very satisfied with the decrease and/or abscence of the humm. I called the 1-800 helpline in the manual for this product, told them about my humm, and the guy had NO idea what I was talking about -- he wanted me to send them the entire unit or return it for a new one at Best Buy -- I told them NO WAY .. it took too much time to move my furniture and wire this thing up, I wanted the "corporate fix" I"ve read about online -- so he had a corporate agent call me back 1 week later and she stated that I too would receive these updated cables to fix my problem. We'll see when they get here, but either way, the humm is so low that you really have to put your ear up to the speakers to hear it. Also, I have a Belkin wireless-G router and so far, NO interference or loss of signal after 1 week of constant use of both the rocketfish and the wireless internet which is all in the same room. Give it a shot, there's a 30 day return policy, no restocking fee, you can't go wrong if you have a few extra hours this weekend to calibrate it and play around with it.

    Excellent Wireless Speaker System

Needed a wireless speaker system, due to cement walls blocking the routing of my wiring. So I bought the RocketFish again (I'm using this already for my PC's 5.1 rear speakers) & it saved me again from running wires all over the place to connect my extra speakers. Works right thru cement walls to accurately power 2 Polk Monitor30s I have in my kitchen. They work & sound great. GET ONE NOW. Or don't get 1 so they'll have them in stock when I need to get another 1. ;)

I had read several .reviews on this product and as usual had its ups and downs. I had to purchase it for myself, even though I do not use it as a surround speaker set up, I do use the rocket fish as a channel B speakers for my outside patio (wireless of course) set up and it works awesome for my application. A Big thumbs up.

Good product to eliminate wires to rear speakers

Wanted to eliminate wires going to the rear speakers on my Sony DVD home theater, couldn't get s-air as Sony has stopped supporting those. This product is able to wirelessly stream sound to my rear speakers and I can also increase the audio level for the rear speakers using this. I am very satisfied with this product.

I had Geek squad out to my home to install my rear speakers and found out that it wasn't possible with the layout of my townhouse. They recommended Rocketfish and I was very skeptical. Well i bought it and am very happy. It took 20 minutes to set up. The amp is the size of a cell phone. The receiver is larger (size of a hard cover book). I mounted the receiver to the wall behind my couch so that it can't be seen. The clarity is amazing and there is no way anyone would know the speakers aren't hardwired. This product is worth the $99. 5 stars!

    Rocketfish Universwal Wireless Kit

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The Universal wireless kit works well and is easy to set up, I settled on a suround system that didn't have wireless rear speakers and this saved me from going down in the crawlspace and running wires. The only downside is because I have the receiving unit under my sofa it would have been easier to turn it off and on if the the buttion was at the front.

Best Wireless Option in Price Range

You won't be disappointed with this unit. After struggling for hours with an RCS WSP155 (don't waste your time or money), I returned the unit for the Rocketfish. It took 10 minutes to setup. Transmission was super clean and flawless. Boom box speakers hooked up to it without a problem. On board amp is a bit small. As long as you're not pushing hige speakers with the amp, it's a great solution to add wireless speakers to your system.

I had read all the negative reviews of this product and decided to find out for myself if it was as bad as some had said. I am running my wireless router and wireless surround sound in the same room and both work fine at the same time; the router being used is a Westell 327W. Next, the speakers do occasionally pop, but it sounds like someone is popping their gum in another room. It doesn't happen constantly nor is it very loud. I mostly hear it when the speakers are on and the tv isn't. When the room is quiet it is easy to hear.

Product was easy to hook up. Ran one wire from the wireless receiver to each speaker, ran two wires from the stereo receiver to the wireless transmitter. Plugged it all in worked great right out of the box.. No interference from my wireless network or phones. No static and plenty of volume.

This gadget made by Best Buy is fantastic. The sound quality for the rears is picture perfect. No loss in quality by not having a direct connection. One drawback is that the power doesn't shut off automatically. You have to unplug it. I'm not sure how that will affect my electric bill.
