78-year-old balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen finally fulfills his lifelong dream of a great adventure when he ties thousands of balloons to his house and flies away to the wilds of South America. But he discovers all too late that his biggest nightmare has stowed away on the trip: an overly optimistic 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell. Their journey to a lost world, where they encounter some strange, exotic and surprising characters, is filled with hilarity, emotion and wildly imaginative adventure.

This is a great movie it is whimsical, touching and while having lots of humor can still pull on your heartstrings. I liked that one of the protagonists is a senior and one of the enduring narrative threads is how much he loved and missed his wife. The animal characters provide lots of humor and really add to the story. The 2 shorts on the discs are funny and I recommend that the viewer take the time to watch them. This is a PG rate film and it does have some moments that a child might find scary when a kid is in jeopardy and the villain meets his just reward. I recommend this film for the young and the young at heart!

This has a great message behind it. It doesn't matter how old you might be because friends can be any age. Carl meets Russel .... because Russel is a wilderness scout...trying to get his assist the eldery badge. What happens from there creates a great friendship and a big adventure. It's worth having in anyone's collection...whether you are a Disney fan or not.

I love Pixar movies. They are always some of the best movies around. This is no different. Some are a bit weaker than others, but always a lot of fun. As usual, Disney leaves us with HDR10 instead of DolbyVision so docking a star until they stop this nonsense.

This movie starts kind of down and depress to set up the rest of the story, (slight tear jerker) once you get through the first part it a good story, some funny lines and exciting. I would recommend for 7 years and older.

This is a really good 3D movie and happy to have in in my 3D library. I took a start off my review due to the case being damaged and doesn't close correctly. For being a movie collector it is frustrating getting movies with a damaged case.

I don't see this as being much of a kids' movie, mainly because the opening is terribly sad. If I watched this, as a child, it would probably have sent me into some sort of depression. Once you get through the sad, there is lots of joy, and fun, to be had. It's a nice adventure story, with memorable characters. I love the dog :)

Pixar really made something special with this original and heartfelt release. Of course the animation is superb (as they have been consistent in). The Blu-ray quality looks great as well.

Great story. Those who are fans of Disney animated features will definitely not be disappointed.

Emotional and great story. The characters are silly and fun. And pretty much every Pixar movie looks great in HD.

Bought the steelbook and it was in great conditions. There were no dents and of course the quality of the movie was excellent.

A beautiful upgrade picture wise. Detail is vivid. Atmos sound not so much. Steelbook has nice artwork. Highly recommended!

I like the love storey it opens with and the rest of the movie is worth watching as well.

I love this movie and the 3D is fabulous. My 4 & 6 year old thought it was scary in parts (ie. The storm scene) butt they enjoyed the talking dogs and Kevin.
