This is one of the best cases I have used for an iPad. I used the Apple Smartcase. I always felt it didn't have enough protection for everyday use. It is a good case if you don't use it everyday or you don't bring your iPad with you everywhere. I bring my iPad with me everywhere so I wanted something that would protect from most drops and would provide a great surface to view movies, YouTube videos, etc. This case provides that and more. The cover works as a sleep cover as well as allowing for two viewing angles in landscape mode. It is perfect to use on a hard desk or a soft bed. It will stay in the set viewing angle. Plus it feels secure in your hand when holding it for reading like a book. I also have larger hands so I like the added bulk for that reason. If you don't bring your iPad everywhere, are not worried about rough treatment, only use it to read books in your hand like a phone and only want one viewing angle then I would get the Apple Smartcase. It is PERFECT for doing that. But if you want a case that is more protective and gives two great viewing angles in landscape mode, I strongly recommend this UAG case.
