I was very surprised at how much I actually had playing this game. To be honest this was an impulse buy game. Overall if you give this game a chance you’ll start getting addicted like I was.

I played this digitally on the Switch, bought when it was on sale for $8 or so. I'm not really sure it's even worth that much. The school sim aspect was very lacking. The combat was repetitive and simple. The controls were sometimes a bit broken. The story was semi-interesting, though I didn't think it ended as well as it could have. Yet I played it all the way through. There was a while in the beginning, when leveling becomes extremely difficult if there are no quests available for the level of your characters, where I really, really thought I'd quit the game. I came thisclose to doing it, going back only to graduate the students I had and see what would happen ... and then some right-level quests opened up, and I got the Clown knife which gives you a lot more power, and I just kept playing. So I guess, even if the combat is basic and repetitive, I found it weirdly enjoyable. There are some problems with the combat maps, how the boundaries aren't often clearly marked. There are spots that look like open spaces but have invisible walls, and if you take your character into a small area, the characters that follow around and crowd behind you can end up locking you in there. If all the characters in question are your own playable ones that you can switch between, you can fiddle around and switch between them until you get yourself unstuck. But once, there was an NPC following as well, and no matter how much I tried to move my guys, that stupid NPC wouldn't get out of the one narrow passage I needed to get through, and I had to quit out of the whole quest and lose my progress. So ... not the best control/level design. It's a very simple, basic, childish sort of game. I can't actually remember how child-appropriate it was in terms of content (I always think parents should check things out for themselves rather than listen to random third parties anyway), but the gameplay was definitely childish and simple. But I did play it all the way through, and I'm not shy about giving up on a game if I find it too boring or too frustrating. So there's that. Of course, when I was done, I didn't have a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction like I do with games I really enjoy. It was more, "Well, that's over. Now I can move on."
