My wife had never used a facial steamer and I noticed she had some issues with dry skin here in AZ so I showed her the new Vanity Planet facial steamer she had to try it out.
Unboxing and first impressions:
The steamer came in well packed and inside with it was the instruction manual and 3 attachments which you can use for essential oils, and that’s it. We were both surprised that the device is so light weight, especially for its size, not overly large at all. There are also four suction cups on the bottom that help keep it in place so it doesn’t tip over during use.
Setting up and using:
Getting it ready to use is pretty straight forward, just fill up the water bottle that’s under the cover on the back top side, and put it back in, place where you want and plug it in “the cord is a lot longer than we expected either”, then press the power button and wait a couple minutes.
The amount of steam produced is quite amazing; it’s a really heavy stream of steam coming out of the nozzle. It’s also pretty warm so you want to be careful not to get too close to the nozzle. The nozzle can also be moved up and down so you can aim it just right.
Now I’m not going to be the one using it much “later on that” but here’s the comments from my wife;
This is really neat, I’ve never used a facial steamer and didn’t know for sure what to think when my husband showed it to me. I have read about using steamers like this, especially here in AZ with the dry climate and I do get some dry skin issues from it.
As soon as I let the steam cover my face I knew I was going to like this, it felt so good and “moisturizing”. I was also surprised that while steaming I took out a cleaning pad and ran it over my face “this was after cleaning all makeup thoroughly with my normal regimen” and a good bit of makeup came off. It’s my impression that it helped pull the makeup out of my pores. I’ll be using this a lot and it’s so simple to use, just fill the bottle and turn on, that’s it.
Ok, now while my wife had been using it I’ve been suffering from a sinus infection and am on antibiotics. My head had been plugged for quite a while so when I saw there were some essential oil attachments “just simple plastic covers with a pad to soak up the oil, “you get three””. I had to give it a try with some eucalyptus oil I have, and wow what a difference that made, my sinuses cleared up and I could breathe normally. I have a feeling I’ll be using this daily for this as it works better than using any vaporizer we have at the moment. So for us this steamer has a dual purpose and both of us with be using it a lot. So if you are looking for a steamer that you can use to help moisturize your pores and help get them clean and even one that you can use to help clear up sinuses “should be great for a head cold too” this is one great little device to get.

I purchased 3 of these - 1 for me, 2 as gifts. I've used mine about 10 times in the 7 months I've had it. It is now spitting hot water all over my face instead of steam. I will see if the manufacturer will replace it. I expect the same results with the replacement based on other reviews. I don't recommend.

This thing broke after it was used one time. The best buy people couldn't help we with replacing it because it was a day outside of the return window. clearly was defective and i got punished for ordering a gift in advance to make sure it got to me in time cause the return window starts as soon as you receive. Will just buy a better item from a better service person like amazon.

This was a gift for my wife. The first time she turns it on a blue light starts flashing. It steams for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Then shuts off. And since it was a gift it is no longer returnable. Waste of my time and money

This is my first time using a facial steamer, so I didn’t know what to expect. The directions are very clear, they give great pointers to get the full benefits of using it. I tried this out twice over a week span. The first time, I used only distilled water like the directions say to use which I already had on hand. I will say it is VERY important to follow their directions, you do not want to mess up the machine with grime by using regular tap water, or putting oil where it shouldn’t go. It was so relaxing, and the bumpers on the bottom help out with it staying in place so you feel secure. My skin looks great, I also use their facial brush to clean my face after as per their instructions. It does a great job at opening your pores and preparing for facial masks, eye masks, cleansers and moisturizers. The second time I dipped the tip of the essential oil basket in chamomile essential oil and I felt like I was at the spa. So calming, smelled amazing, and my skin really enjoyed it after a long day. Great product, treat yourself and your skin. Especially with colder weather around the corner.

Relaxing at home treatment

I grabbed this on a whim because I've never had a "real" facial. I've always just used face masks and scrubs so I was kinda excited to try this. And I'm getting married in less than 2 weeks and wanted to treat myself to some relaxation, so this was a perfect gadget for that. It's super easy to use once you read the instruction booklet. All I did was fill up the water tank and as soon as I plugged it in it started to heat up and produce steam. Not going to lie, I was afraid of burning my face because I have pretty sensitive skin and it doesn't take much to turn my face bright red. But after a little less than 15 minutes (it runs out of water in 15 minutes), my skin felt super soft and surprisingly smooth! I went about my skincare routine like normal after.
It comes with little nozzles that you can add essential oils to for an even more relaxing vibe, but I haven't tried that yet. I plan to add some lavender and mint oils next time.
I think the only real con I've found so far is that I can't just use regular water from my faucet. I have really hard water so that'd def. ruin it. I just went to my local grocery store and stocked up on some distilled water. As long as you have that handy it's not that much of an inconvenience. I'm also making sure I clean and dry the product after each use to ensure it doesn't get clogged or anything.

Pampering Self-Care

The Vanity Planet Facial Steamer has quickly become one of my favorite self-care items. Small in profile this steamer delivers as promised. It provides up to 15 minutes of soothing spa-like steam that cleanses your pores, hydrates and softens your skin, and promotes increased circulation. Steaming is great preparation prior to the application of exfoliants, masks, serums, and moisturizers since it opens your pores- preparing your skin to absorb treatments.
The Vanity Planet Steamer requires no real assembly. After reading the user guide you just fill the water reservoir with distilled water and plug in the unit. There is only one button. Within minutes the unit is pumping streams of steam into the air. The surge of steam actually surprised me with its initial force. There is an adjustable nozzle that directs the steam and there are 3 essential oil baskets that can be filled and placed over the nozzle to provide aromatherapy with your treatment. The Steamer itself is white with rose gold trim, fairly small in size, with a classic design that would blend well on any counter or vanity and would make a wonderful gift for that “someone” in your life that loves to spoil themselves.

Vanity planet facial steamer is awesome, I love using it after a long day soak in the bath then steam my face after for a nice clean feeling especially after wearing makeup all day, face so much cleaner. I like using it with essential oils 1-2 a week some tea tree oil or lavender oil make skin feel so soft & refreshed. The steamer is corded I do wish the cord was longer, but the length works no to short. Comes with 3 nozzles for essential oils that fit over the steamer nozzle no need to worry about mixing oils they are also colored so you know what oil you used in which. It easy to use doesn’t take up much space.

This little gadget goes a long way. The water tank was a bit hard to open as there is no instructions on how to open it. Took me a min to figure it out other than that , its just a push of button to get this going. As I turn on the steamer, I was a bit scared as it made a popping noise and though it was going to squirt hot water out, It didn't. The steamer works very well, get the job done making my face feel a lot refreshed. It comes with 3 baskets to add essential oils. Once the oil is added its honestly it feels so good and your face will thank you later. Its a small size steamer making it easy to take anywhere.

I have enjoyed using the Vanity Planet Facial Steamer for the past week. It is simple to operate (you pull the tank up - not out to fill up). It has suction cups on the bottom so it stays in place while you are using it. You can move the nozzle where the steam comes out to point it where you want the steam directed. It comes with 3 extra attachments to add different essential oils. It is a nice way to enjoy a treat for your skin at home. The product does not come with an on/off switch.

I’ve wanted to try one of these types of facial steamers for some time now. There didn’t need to be any fancy features, but rather, I was looking for something that just had the basics and worked for my needs. This Vanity Planet Facial Steamer fit that description.
The steam nozzle is able to be tilted up and down. So it does have that feature, only I wish there was a way to adjust the amount of steam pouring forth from the spout, as it steams more than I’d really prefer.
There are three additional nozzle ‘baskets’ included, which you can use with essential oils, so that is a nice option. Be sure you read the specific instructions on how to do that as you do not add the oil to the water tank.
Even filling the water tank up to the Max level, doesn’t seem to allow the steam to last the full 15 minutes, as claimed, at least as per my personal experience using the facial steamer, so far.
*Use caution, as this device does put out hot steam. Though it doesn’t feel as if it would cause serious burns to the skin, unless you got closer to the steamer than the instructions advise, or were to use the device longer than intended.
What I’ve found after several days using this Vanity Planet Facial Steamer is that my skin feels more rejuvenated, and immediately after use my face feels refreshed and cleaner. This personal care device seems well made, and so I can most certainly recommend.
