Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with the Moto G4 Play 4G LTE's camera quality, price, and battery life, frequently citing these as major strengths. Many also appreciate its ease of use and the expandable memory options. While some users noted minor issues with bloatware and network compatibility depending on the carrier, the positive feedback on core features outweighs these concerns. The phone's overall performance and features are considered excellent value for the price.

Love this phone. I'm not one that needs the newest and best. I just want a nice phone. And I am AWFUL at keeping phones. I break them all the time. This one is great. It's fast. Has lots of storage. And was easy to start using. I just put my old sim card in and it transferred everything over except pictures.

I did have to return my first purchase after 1 week when the SIM card stopped working and it was getting very hot. Best Buy replaced with no issues. The second phone I got I have had for a month or so now and loving it. There is only one issue that I cannot seem to figure out. It will not put a # over my message or phone icon to let me know I have messages or missed calls. I have checked every setting I can find. Another friend is having the same problem with their MOTO a different model. Does anyone know how to fix that? Otherwise I have no complaints. I brought it on sale from a cyber Monday sell for 59.99 and could not be happier. 4 stars instead of 5 are because of the first phone having to be returned and the message/phone notification not showing on the icons. If you are looking for a phone under $100. I highly recommend this phone.

This phone is snappy and has excellent battery life! The screen is also nice and easy to read, and the expandable storage makes up for the relatively small amount of onboard storage. This was a great purchase when it was on sale, but I'd balk at paying full retail for it.

Bought this on sale for $42.99 to use as a media player for a pre-teen kid. Device exceeded expectations for this purpose. Speed on wifi is very good, display is very clear and bright. Awesome device for the price. Cannot attest to phone and mobile data performance since it wasn't activated on a mobile service plan, but it works great on wifi for web browsing, email, texting, gaming, etc.

I bought this to replace my aging LG phone for work. It was a great idea! This phone blows the LG away. Much larger. Better android setup. Lighter. Great battery life. Pictures are great. Everything is great. At this price you will not regret it.

I bought this phone during Thanksgiving sale. It is a great smart phone for its price. The camera resolution is not as high as Motorola G series but it takes decent photos and videos. I added an external ultra SD card for extra storage as the built-in storage quickly becomes limited after installing some apps.

Purchased this phone after having an LG Transpyre for some time. Definitely an upgrade from that phone. Better build (phone is extremely comfortable to hold), better camera, more ram and rom and larger display. Overall, a good experience with this phone so far. Only drawback for me is that there is no HD calling/VoLTE, meaning while call quality is very good there is no voice and data simultaneously, so no browsing the web or any other data services available while on a call.

The Moto G4 Play is perfect for someone who wants a good running system without the hassle of an IPhone. It's user friendly and has plenty of memory to update without having to uninstall the apps you need outside of the systems preinstalled programs. I would definitely buy this again.

I wanted a phone to replace my old Moto G (2013) and found this one at my local Best Buy. It has great performance and I love the adoptable storage so I can fit every app i pretty much want on it. The only major complaint I have is about Verizon, not the phone.. Verizon locks every android device that they sell and they do not allow the Bootloader to be unlocked. The number one feature that I enjoyed about my old moto G was that I could root it and put custom ROMs and a custom recovery on it. I enjoy having full control of my devices. That being said, I have accepted that I'm not going to be able to root this phone and I still truly enjoy using it every day. :)

Can't expect much more out of a cheap phone

I have had several 'cheap' phones over the years and this one definitely has the best feel and build quality. It also has pretty solid performance and browses the web fairly smoothly. I really can't ask for much more. My only gripes would be that the phone is locked to Verizon and they don't seem to be as nice about unlocking their phones as their competitors are... In addition, as far as I can tell, I do not believe this phone has all the same antennas as the factory unlocked version and would be poor on other networks anyway. Oh well.

I like the big difference in memory from 8 GB to16 GB.The camera seems to be OK, I have not printed any pictures yet. Overall, I do like the phone. Battery life is good, but I don't watch videos or stream a lot. Having a little difficulty getting used to Messenger when adding pictures. It's just different. Phone charger does not plug into a computer. Inexpensive cases are available on line, but are not made well for the entire phone. the top and bottom is not tight. I would recommend it for the average user.

I’ve bought it for 58$ and for this price it’s awesome phone - big screen, not bad camera and 2Gb of RAM. It works much faster than moto e (for the same price)

This phone provides extra space needed for apps that I want to run plus room for micro-SD card. It's a nice size to carry and durable. Seems to work well. I've had 5 Motorola phones over the years and been well pleased with all of them.

I am impressed with the value that I got when purchasing my phone. I have not had any issues with my phone and it works amazingly well for such a low cost phone. So glad that I decided not to buy into the whole high priced phone hype. I'm am very satisfied with my phone. Takes good pictures (Not great) but it does take really good videos. I have added a good number of apps and I haven't had an issue with memory yet. Overall I am happy with my purchase and if you are looking for a value phone with some extra features then this is the phone for you.

I bought this phone with the intention to use it as a music and media device to be used combination with a Chromecast. This device has a removable battery and microSD card slot which comes in handy for those with a large music library. it only stutters when installing a large amounts of apps at once, like during the initial set up, other than that I have not had it lag.

In addition to calls, I use my phone primarily for texts, emails, surfing the web and taking pictures. This phone satisfies those needs. I have had it for a couple of months now and I am happy with the performance. The pictures are clear, and I find it to be very user friendly. I like that it gives you the option to add more storage with an SD card. I am pleased with the price I paid for it and I would recommend it.
