Customers are saying
Customers are impressed with the Moto G4 Play 4G LTE's camera quality, price, and battery life, frequently citing these as major strengths. Many also appreciate its ease of use and the expandable memory options. While some users noted minor issues with bloatware and network compatibility depending on the carrier, the positive feedback on core features outweighs these concerns. The phone's overall performance and features are considered excellent value for the price.

If only you could remove the Google App
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this phone to use as a media player to carry around and not activate on a cell plan, which I've done with other cheaper phones for a couple of years now. The problem is that there is no way to disable the Google App at all, and while listening to music and audio files, the phone constantly minimizes the media player and attempts to search blindly with no network connectivity. It is more aggravating and distracting than any other phone I've ever used in this way. I've tried everything to disable and remove the Google search app on voice and device connections, but it still pops up continually when the phone is in use. If the phone wouldn't have this "always on" feature I would be very happy with it, but this ruins the whole experience. I can't imagine having this as my main phone and constantly trying to search for things while I try to talk to people with it. And yes, I did exchange it once and the second phone made no difference at all to this search failure.

Jumps all over.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not much of a device, skips and jumps all over, new windows always opening on top of others, can't read on a subject without it jumping to something before you are done, has poor sound and no notification LED. 2 GB of RAM is nice,3 or 4 would be better. Not really much to brag about in the Moto g4 play.

Good budget phone, but Verizon won't unlock
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is crippled in firmware. Even when one pays the amount needed to unlock this via Verizon, it lacks the GSM and HSPA bands in firmware due to the custom firmware Moto made for Verizon.

ok phone for basic use
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.screen is fragile, so a screen protector or case is essential. The camera is good however and the phone is otherwise problem free.

Great Cheap Verizon Phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.THE PHONE: When it comes to phones I really don't need something that is high powered with a lot of storage. I use my laptop and tablet for all that stuff and I use my trusty vintage ipod for music. I also live an active outdoor life so breaking my phone is not unlikely. What I want is a reliable cheap smartphone I can use to; tether, check emails, take a photo here and there, use banking/payment apps that make my life easier as a business owner and of course make phone calls. This phone handles all those tasks well and has plenty of memory for what I need. It also looks really nice but don't be fooled it is constructed cheaply as it should be because it is cheap. What I love about this phone is how long the battery lasts. So like I said, I am not sitting around watching movies on my phone. What I really wanted is a phone that I didn't have to worry about plugging in every couple of hours so I didn't miss a business call. The battery lasts over 24 hours without plugging it in, which is awesome for me. The phone also takes pretty good photos. The one thing I don't like is that I feel the speaker could be louder. VERIZON: I purchased this phone when it was on sale for $40. I wanted to put it on my post paid verizon plan so I bought a month on pre-paid ($45) with a different phone number so I didn't have to mess with my plan. Then I took it into Verizon, got a new sim card for 83 cents and put the pre-paid phone on my post paid plan with my original number. I finally figured out how to get a new smartphone on my post paid plan for under $100 and I am really happy with it.

Restart and display problems
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The phone restarts itself. The brightness of the screen decreases and flickers after a few days of use. I could not return or exchange it because it took longer than a week for BesyBuy to deliver it to my home. So, even though the problems started to appear only after a few days of use, the return period had passed.

Best low price phone
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow. There is not one thing bad about this phone. One thing that is not exactly stellar for me is the call quality. I did notice echo of my voice during calls but only on my end. This was not noticed on the other end. The 16gb of storage for a sub $100 phone is good. The phone itself is really fast with 2gb of ram. Pleased on it's speed when loading Web pages etc. Display very nice, bright and gorgeous. Camera nice with plenty of cool features. If you like Verizon, I have tried their prepaid several times and was never pleased, and looking for a really good inexpensive phone, give this a try. I am seriously considering the unlocked version.

Great Phone for the Money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I picked up this phone after I broke my Samsung S5. Honestly this is a great phone, and would highly recommend it. Its not a flagship phone like a iPhone s7 or new Samsung S6 phone but it's pretty close. The screen is great, the performance is smooth. You're just not getting all the bells and whistles like finger scanner or cutting edge camera. But it comes close, and for $85 is a steal.
