this is more a slice of life movie where you see the relationship between Queen Victoria and Abdul. It is very slow and plodding and it shows that when a person is not useful, they are thrown away, even friends. kind of depressing. good cinematography and acting is good, but story was boring. this is a rental

Being a fan of British royalty, welcomed this straight-forward story about the Queen Victoria's last friendship with her Indian friend, Abdul. The film also depicted Victoria's strength and stance against the adversity to her friend, from her own son and advisers. She was Queen and did what she very well pleased. Well acted and beautifully filmed. A touching story about a friendship that endured in spite of all odds to crush it.

this fillm has some excellent acting involving both the main characters in the movie. It also has high production values of the sort usually associated with a PBS Masterpiece series. The blu ray itself seems to be a solid and attractive presentation of the film. An interesting historically based (with some dramatic liberties of course) story.

Was a gift for Grandfather who enjoys historical movies regarding the English occupancy of India. The movie is based on the relationship that Queen Victoria had with one her indian servants. Overall it was well written and worth a watch at least once.

Wonderful! I love Dame Judi Dench. She is a brilliant actress. This movie didn't disappoint! She had portrayed Queen Victoria in Mrs. Brown and to see her follow character was spectacular. Mrs. Brown is mentioned in Victoria and Abdul.

Judi Dench is acting royalty so who better to play royalty. If you saw Mrs Brown you could think of this as a sequel. If anything Dame Judi has deepened her portrayal of Queen Victoria. A truly touching film.

Wow this is a must see amazing movie. Everybody invilved did an incredible job! If you like period movies then buy and watch this one, but be prepared for a tear jerker!

I had high expectations for this movie because of the trailers, and I was not disappointed. It is a heartfelt, heartbreaking movie and I recommend it to everyone.

My wife was not aware of this story regarding HRH Victoria. So for the Best Price and Great Gift I went to Best Buy. My wife love's it. Thank You Best Buy.

Missed the movie when it was in the theaters. I was glad to see Best Buy had it when I was in the store. I even got it on sale!

This was a good movie. Loved the diversity in it. It would be nice if they made a Part 2.

THIS IS A VERY NICE MOVIE. THE CINEMATOGRAPHY IS BEAUTIFUL. A HEARTWARMING STORY, SET IN A HISTORIC TIME.

I was really looking forward to this movie. It was very slow and a slice of life movie between a commoner and Queen Victoria. I could not see the chemistry between the characters. Acting was good, cinematography was excellent, but the script was lacking and slow. not recommended unless you like history in the Victoria era.

Another great movie by Judi Dench. loved it. Would recommend this movie to any Judi Dench fan.
