Great idea so that you can transfer all of those vhs tapes

The VHS To DVD 8.0 Deluxe software and hardware were simple to install. All you need to know to correctly hook up the cables are where to plug them into the VHS tape player. The software has simple to follow icons for the timid user and more advanced functions for, well, the more advanced user. Home movies transferred easily. One warning- do not expect HD quality from your home recordings. The overall quality of the transferred images depends on the quality of the original tape recordings, not the software. You can transfer files to your computer as DVD files, a mpeg or an avi file.

VHS to DVD deluxe 8 for windows works great. It's perfect for transferring your VHS tapes to DVD and for saving your DVR recordings to DVD also.

This product is not perfect, but it is also very good. I installed on windows 8.1, and it worked as intended. I used it to transfer VHS-C tapes to DVD. The quality is the same as the VHS tape so do not expect some kind of magical upscale. I like how it allow me to save it as a video file or to a DVD. The program does sometimes become unresponsive but a quick unplug and replug fixed it. Again this is rare and the product has helped me greatly keeping memories in a digital format.

I've already transferred 6 videos to DVDs and the program is so easy to use. And it's clear when you watch it.

I downloaded the web version of the software, but was not able to unpack it in order to install (Error: 0x80004005). Installation from CD worked with no issue. The software is easy to follow (Easy Wizard Mode) and I was able to backup a VHS tape easily.

Have not used the converter yet. Still getting together my old tapes. Found that in my area it costs about $20.00 per tape for a company to do it, so this will save me about $2000 dollars! Instructions seem to be pretty straightforward and so far not confusing.

Kind of a clunky software interface, but if you are not in a hurry to start and take your time fiddling around with the various options, you will eventually figure out the best way to get the quality you find acceptable. I did find that I needed to use a USB 3 port on the computer for the best results, but that might just be my hardware (ASUS M32 series, 4 GB, Win10). I tried two different video cables and found one of them produced better results than the other, so I will assume one video cable was better than the other, but I know of no test I can run that would prove that. Using the USB 2 and the poorer video cable resulted in artifacts in the digital copy that weren't in the source video, degraded sound (low frequencies were reduced) and video freezes and chop in the digital copy. Using the "better" video cable and USB 3 port resolved all those issues and resulted in a decent copy. Don't think you will get anything better than the source material in terms of resolution or color rendering, you will just end up with a clean copy of low grade taped AV. How did we watch those tapes back in the old days anyway? LOL.

Setting up the VHS to DVD was extremely easy. I attached my old VHS camera, turned it on and the Software immediate presented the process. I made my choice and started transferring the product to my PC. When completed, I did a few simple edits to the file and transferred it to my DVD. I will have many gifts to give to the members of my family and grandchildren.

This was a great purchase. My husband is having so much fun re-living all the memories of our trips, reunions, birth of grandbabies. Our memories can now live on a lot longer.

Easy setup, works great. We have hundreds of hours of family videos. I finally found a product that does what I need transfers easily without a great deal of geek knowledge. Anyone can set it up and be ready to go in minutes.

We are in the process of converting hundreds of VHS tapes . So far, it is working beautifully. The quality is great and it's simple and convenient to use. It holds a lot of tips.

Extremely user friendly. Takes the complex factors with regard to analog to digital video conversion and makes it very simple. Good product. Only thing I'd change is not to put a time restriction on the video length up front, in cases where you don't know how long your video will be, as in times of live recording.

This product came through for me, I am now able to download all of my video from my camcorder to my computer. Excellent hardware and software. Worthy purchase!!

This device is extremely easy to set up, and the software is very intuitive. I've had nothing but great results using this to archive my old recordings onto DVDs. I highly recommend it.

If you have a boatload of VHS home movies and you want to put them on DVD you will like how inexpensive and easy this is.
