First off let me say it was an open box savingis a ton. But, when it was installed it didn't work, only yhr bottom oven worked. Viking came out and fixed it but the repair person said it is common that the door sensors go bad after they are removed. Does take a long time to pre heat but the heat for some reason seems way better than previous ovens veggies toast consistently as well as everything else

Frustrating Purchase

Not sure we made the right decision on this purchase. Here's the reasons:
1) Both the lower and upper ovens were not calibrated - one was about 20 cooler than the oven dial and the other was 70 degrees hotter than the dial. We had a service call and they re-calibrated but it still seems inconsistent as we are frequently burning some things and undercooking others. We bought two thermometers to measure for ourselves and they never agree to what the oven dial reads.
2) There are blue LED rings around the knobs that blink as the over is preheating. Once it is ready, they stop blinking and the oven beeps. Well, the LED rings stopped working about 2 weeks after we had installed, so unless we are in the kitchen listening for the beep, we have no way to know if either oven is still preheating. Had a service call for this as well - the LED panel is fried and we are now waiting for that part.
3) Compared to our previous oven, this one takes FOREVER to preheat. We asked the technician about this and he said it takes 20 minutes to preheat 1 oven and 30 minutes to preheat both at the same time. Can't hardly believe this.
4) The outside is an uncoated stainless so it shows fingerprints terrible. Didn't think about this until after we purchased. Our old unit was stainless as well but had some kind of coating that helped keep fingerprints to a minimum
5) Other than that, I guess we like it.

I don’t use the toaster oven or the microwave anymore. Preheats in 45 seconds. Makes me look like a great cook. I’m hooked on viking

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS !!!!!!!!
The french door double oven worked for just over 1 year. Then it started taking more and more time to come up to temp. It also would not stay at pre-set temp once the french doors were opened and continued to loose temp.
I paid $715 to have it fixed. seems the computer board had failed or was never any good to start with. This repair ony lasted for 7 to 8 months. Then same symtems returned.
I was able to contact with VIKING CUSTOMER service. They basically told me to go pound sand. End of line they would give me a new computer board, no installation, no guarantee that was the problem
Basicaly no help what so ever. Viking customer service is a bad joke on the consumer. They do not back the product you spent all that hard earned money on.
