Customers are saying

Customers highly value the Moto G (3rd Generation)'s camera quality, battery life, ease of use, and screen size. Many also appreciate its affordability and water resistance. However, some users express concern regarding the limited internal memory and storage space. Adding an SD card is often suggested to mitigate the storage limitations.

So far, so good! I really like it becuaee its much faster than my last hoone which was an LG Volt. That phone was good but after a few months, the speed was not up to par and then I would have to restart it to get or sebd messages and calls. So far, this Moto G has had no speed issues. If course, its only been a couple of weeks so who knows in te long run. But I've been able download every single app that I had in my old phone to hear and speed hasn't really altered. Even this intensive heavy gameis able to run okay. On the other phone, it will freeze my phone and cause it to restart. There's a lot to get used to with this phone. There's no phone sound profiles, so its hard to get used to adjusting all if the sound volumes. The LG Volt, you decrease the volume and everything else decreases with it. This one only does one, a big problem with me. Takes more work to go in and adjust everything during different time of the day. Also, it has a sleep setting. This is a bit of a hassle because even though it allows calls to go through, its after two simultaneous calls. My old phone, I turned everything off except my alarm and calls. The lollipop OS is hard to get used to but I'm getting it. I wish the messaging app would pop up in the corner and allow me to type and send a message like the Volt. MMShad a hard time receiving over Wi-fi. I'm not trying to send it via WiFi but just have it turned on. My old phone had no issues with the Wi-Fi always being on, this one, I have go turn it off if I want to download the message. The hone screen also needs getting used to, there's no continuous scrolling and more of a left to right scroll than your main home screen in the middle and you can go left or right. So it starts off to the left and you have to keep scrolling right. Not too big of an issue but really annoying. The screen customization isnt as good, you can't have a different lock and home screen! And I can't find the option to keep the pic still rather than scroll along. Oh, were also back in options with ringtones. You have to copy your song to the ringtones folder, like you did in other limited phones! Also annoying. I downloaded a file manager and it won't let me choose the song that way either. And the messaging app is limited, no themes on there, can't apply your own bg pic like in the Volt. Camera is good but sometimes I feel like even with the 13 mp it takes the same quality pics as my Volt and has less options. The front camera takes OK pics, for 5 mp , its not bad. The Volt has focus options and did a terrific job at focusing, this ones OK. Maybe I need to find the work around for this as well. I'm not a pro at phones but not an amateur either, maybe I just have to find the work around for these problems and all will be fine but I also don't like having to download extra apps for it either, maybe I'm just spoiled with customization abilities from my Volt but I feel like some of this stuff is basic I phones nos and it was left out of here. I'm a big customization fan, so will I buy this phone again? Idk. The question is whether I like speed more than customizing. Hopefully another phone will come out when I need it with both aspects thats not expensive. This cost as much as the Volt. They lack what the other has, Volt is speed and power, Moto is customization. All in all, I do recommend this phone, just heed the warnings. I don't regret buying it even after everything I discovered. The screen is larger but not too large. It's water proof and has been easy to clean (I dropped it in my plate of rice and curry). I haven't tested the waterproof capability and don't plan to. If it happens then we'll see. There are also some cute cases in eBay for it which I got excited about. They had plenty for the Volt but was only recet that they came out with more variety. The Moto has some more variety but less options if that made sense. Another big plus.

Had the phone about three weeks and so far it's been a great phone. Got this for my wife she thinks it's great likes the size and speed of the phone. I have a Samsung NOTE 4 and I'll tell you it works as well as that phone and the size is similar. The Note has 32GB as compared with the 8GB of the Moto but you can ad more gigs if you need it. Price I think is really fair for what you get. Great for email, text , social media ,good camera and the phone is water resistant. I highly recommend this phone.

Its no the best phone when comparing to the latest smartphones like apple or samsung but for the price it is amazing. Most apps work seamless and large games have a short loading lag occasionally but overall its a great phone. Restart the phone to clear the cache/memory and be sure to insert a micro sd card to extend the hard drive space. Lots of affordable options for cases and accessories. If you dont want to spend $700+ for the latest phone or have a much large phone bill, this is for you!

For $70 this phone replaced a $20 Kyocera Event for my Virgin Mobile account. I refuse to get caught up in the whole phone race, so waited until I could get this at half the regular cost. I wanted a high-quality camera, better sound quality, and a bigger screen. It imported my contacts and photos quickly, and it synched easily to the Bluetooth in my car. I have had the phone for just a month, but it seems to hold a charge for a good, long while. I can check my gmail, text much faster with the way it gives me word choices, use maps and websites without it getting hung up. A bonus is the ringtone that makes me laugh whenever I wait too long to pick up. I did my research and got exactly what I wanted---and more. My only complaint is that the charger plugs in on the bottom of the phone, which is really just a personal preference.

Everything about this phone is better than the HTC EVO3D I've been using for the last 3 years. Screen size, battery life, sound quality, calls, running programs, etc.... I'm also using it to control my home entertainment center with Wi-Fi! Great bargain for this much bang.

Good phone for someone who wants a small phone with new android software. Good battery life and the price is right. However, 8gb is way to low for average use. I did buy a 32gb card and have been putting all my data there but still limits me on space and continually get storage error messages. 32gb would have been better from the start as a base memory.

I really like this phone a lot overall. Its pretty fast, both cameras take good pictures and it's a good phone for the price. However sometimes during calls I don't receive notifications and also while I'm in calls it won't let me use my web browser. I don't know if it's a problem with my carrier or the phone itself but I will be calling them. I thought I would just let possible customers know and watch for it.

Great screen size. Love the feature to turn on the camera by twisting and the flashlight by chopping. Durable (Dropped 3 times already <UURGH> zero damage). Hope to never test it's 'waterproofosity'. Most impressive is the speed to both touch and processing. Love. (Wife wants to replace her new Kyocera phone now with this--but it's finally my turn to have the best phone in the family!--much better than that puny iPhone 5 my daughter has). Easy to switch from wifi to data and select recent pages and setting screens. Great pics and the Zoom on the movie setting is ultra responsive. Speaker is not loud, but is clear. Easily pairs with bluetooth--don't need a settings app--the main ones are all available on a menu with a slide of the finger. Droid! I'm set.

I love the phone. Screen size is just right. Photos are perfect. Clarity is great. I was looking at another phone, prepared to spend mega $$$s, when the sales tech recommended the Moto G. So happy I trusted her instinct on what I actually needed.

I bought this Moto G 3rd gen to replace my old LG Optimus which still worked but was a bit outdated and with a much smaller screen. First off, I use my phone primarily for music and texting. I never use up my talking minutes but so far when using it for calls I haven't had any problems. One issue I have noticed is when playing music with Google Play. Sometimes the music goes in and out of pitch and I haven't tried another mp3 player app yet to see if it still happens. Otherwise, I am happy with my new phone.

My old LG Volt suddenly died and I needed another phone immediately. I bought the Moto G 3rd Gen. The camera is very sharp, with 5MP for the rear camera so it takes good selfies (13MP for the front camera). The phone works fine. What I don't like are the lack of customization for individual contacts. You can't give a separate ringtone for a specific contact. But for $99, I can't complain about the phone.

When you buy this phone there are a few things you need to know. First, on your pull down menu there is a blank icon you would normally see as a blank personal picture. The way you would personalize it would be by going to your contacts and noticing, "my local profile", just above your first listed contact. Click and edit. Should water get on the speakers it will affect the sound quality temporarily try to dry water ASAP. It should go back to the original sound quality as before. Should you invest in an sd card, remember, for applications, some memory cannot be saved on sd card. This depends on the apps permissions/functions. Total space/memory is 4.54 GB when you buy it. This is due to the necessary memory needed for the phones functionality. Without an app you cannot delete or change sd content. I personally find this infuriating. (Virginmobile customers) Also, this phone comes with the virgin mobile music player they want you to buy music not use what you have for ringtones and alarms. I suggest finding a different app you like to use your music the way you like. This is a service provider issue not a cell phone manufacturing issue. (virginmobile customers) I can say Its not full of bloat ware at time of purchase. The mic, speakers, camera, format is user friendly and of good quality. I still want the S7 but till then, not a bad phone to stick with.

For the money it is the best and most capable of options available With Virgin Pre paid sevices. Motorola durability and technology is always top notch and if it is damaged or killed its cheap enough to buy another one. Good camera quality and power. Ease of use. 5 stars all the way

My old phone stopped working on the charging so I replaced it with this phone. So far so good. It's easy to use and takes nice pictures. The only thing I don't like is that it comes with a lot of apps that I don't want and I can't remove them. I think you can just turn them off. Other than that I'm pretty satisfied with the phone.

I wasn't expecting much going into this purchase. I needed a replacement phone quickly, and this one was on sale at the time. For a prepaid smartphone, it's a good deal. It's responsive, has a good camera, and feels pretty solid in hand. Of course, you're not really getting 8gb of storage. Both the OS and Virgin Mobile's stuff that come pre-loaded take up a good chunk of space. I think i had an actual 3.5gb of available storage out of the box. But, if you're supplementing with a microSD, then it's a non-issue. You'll need to go to Amazon or eBay for a case, though. I couldn't find any cases in any store.
