Price wise, this is a deal.
I immediately used all 4 ports where 2 of them was on External HDDs and all worked just fine with no sacrifice on Bandwitdh or performance that it claims it could carry out.
So far the card has worked as expected.

Works perfectly, but wish I knew the new USB 3C standard was coming and would have waited for it. Not recommended because this card now is the older type standard.

I just plugged this is to the mother on my desk top and that was it! Once I booted up Windows found the drivers and it was ready to go! I noticed a significant difference in transfer speed as well from 2.0 to 3.0 usb.

Overall, the PCI installation was simple and it worked great after initial setup. The card was inexpensive and provided four fast USB3 connections.

Since I was doing a computer builder figured that I could just buy a case that had more ports instead of installing this

PROS
+Plug and play (no drivers required, at least on Windows 8)
+Easy to install
+Comes with a 6" SATA power Y cable (SATA power female to SATA power male and Molex power female)
CONS
-None really... unless you don't like blue or something.
I've got this thing running in a home server with 3 portable hard drives plugged in (ie: they all draw power from this card). Transfer speeds are much faster than on the USB 2.0 ports. Installation was simple, just put it in any PCIe slot of a powered down desktop. The white Molex connection is optional but highly recommended if you're going to be powering stuff like portable hard drives or charging your phone. I went for the gold and plugged in all my hard drives without installing any drivers, and Windows detected everything. So far so good. Bonus points are awarded for the nice 6" SATA to Molex splitter cable (in case your PSU doesn't have that already).

Works well

Works as advertised to upgrade to usb 3.0. Speeds noticeably increased though not necessarily to the extent advertised, though this may not be the product's fault. Only issue was short power connection; I had to purchase extension to reach my power source.

Poor USB 3.0 Expansion Card

I had two USB 3.0 HDD which were damaged by this "USB 3.0 Expansion Card".
If you already bought this card, TEST IT WITH A HDD WHICH IS NOT TOO IMPORTANT FOR YOU.
I spend few days to recover my data from one of my 2T HDD and even after formatting the drive plugged to this expansion card, I could not copy back even 11G of data getting a message that "no enough space on HDD" and still not working.

Don't get this unless you have a backup of C:.

Installed the card & driver -- Windows immediately reported power surges on each port & no USB device was recognized by the card.
Contacted VisionTek support & they said send it back for a replacement ... and oh BTW, remove their driver after removing the card. WRONG--no USB port worked & their uninstall process clears all restore points. Fortunately, I had a recent backup of C: but of course apps had to be re-installed.
Received a new card but I emailed their support asking them to convince me that their driver would not have the same problem. No response so I returned the card to Best Buy for a refund.
Will try a different vendors card but will do another backup of C: first.

Can't Hook Up Power
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The unit plugged in easily, but the power cable supplied is only about 3 - 4" long and I can't connect the card to my computer's power for the USB ports to be powered.
Also, the Quick Start Guide was missing.
I called the VisionTek support line and they said sorry but didn't offer to do anything to help me.
Just be aware.
