I got this to watch Blu-ray movies on my TV, so that the center channel was audible. The bass on this is horrible and had to set to the lowest EQ level. But this was not meant for a HiFi type setup, just the TV in family room. Was just more convenient than a full Stereo setup.

Worth getting for improved sound from TV good sound

I was skeptical about purchasing this sound bar. I had recently purchased the SB2920-c6 and I was impressed by the sound that it produced but the only reason I bought it was because this was sold out at the time purchase. Once this one came back in stock, I was debating whether or not to purchase it, for $25 more than the 2.0 sound bar, it was a no brainer, except for all those bad reviews. After searching endless for professional reviews of the SB3830-d0 and finding nothing I was limited to the user reviews and most of them were low scoring. However most of the reviewed gave it low stars for the difficult initial set up or the sound bar powering off. I have none of those issues. The setup for the sound bar was really easy and straight forward. At first I couldn't get the smarcast app to connect to the wifi from the sound bar but then I noticed a link at the bottom of the phone to connect the sound bar via bluetooth instead. Did that, paired up and then the wifi connect no problem. It then set up my sound bar to my home wifi and updated with the newest firmware. Once that was done it was time to play with the settings and put this thing to the test. I am blown away at how good this unit is for the price. I live in a 2-bedroom apartment and this can fill up the entire apartment with sound at that's only at like 30% volume. The bass is good, its not going to shake the walls or vibrate your floors but the bass is clear and I have a separate powered woofer for that anyway.The unit as decent clarity but the sound is more powerful than clear but I love that about the unit. The HDMI-ARC feature works perfectly, with the exception that the device doesn't turn on or off when the TV does. The smartcast system is amazing and the app has some pretty nice features. Its basically like having a more advanced remote that you can use for the soundbar but one that you will likely never lose. The chromecast feature of the soundbar works really well and streaming Google play music work well, a lot better than bluetooth. I never ran into any of the issues during my movie or during my music stream and set up was really easy. I would recommend the sound bar, especially if you already have a powered subwoofer.

This is my first purchase of a Vizio product as I was always told that Vizio products are not good but to be honest I was very impressed with this soundbar.I got this on sale at Best buy and for less than $100 this is one of the sounbar with HDMI ARC connection. Setup was easy and I was able to control the volume of the soundbar with my TCL Roku tv remote. When I power off the TV the Sound bar powers off only after few minutes and not immediately but that is no big deal. I would definitely shop around for more Vizio products in the future. Overall this unit produces nice sound and very happy with this purchase
