    Yes. This "TV" is different but it is amazing. The picture quality is extremely good with the local dimming (be sure to change the display into Calibrated mode for more accurate and bright colors). The SmartCast feature works just like ChromeCast which means you can use and Apple or Android phone to get access to thousands of apps (more than other SmarTVs) and the apps are always up to date and not the clunky versions most TVs have... once you are used to this it is extremely slick and definitely the way all TVs should be in the future... I dont have to worry about the TV being out of date since the apps are interfaced from your mobile device (which makes navigation and search better too). Audio quality is only OK on the TV but you should be buying a soundbar or using other speakers anyway. TV ships with a simple remote so you can change inputs, switch picture modes, change volume without having to use a mobile phone.

    I have a few Vizio products and love them. I have a 65 inches Vizio which is awesome, two surround sound systems and now Vizio 55 inch tv. So the problem is, the remote is garbage. It only has basic functions like volume and channel. That's it. No kidding. If you want to be able to adjust the screen or access any other feature, you have to download the Vizio App on your phone and control it from there. I really hate this aspect. I needed to adjust the picture size and couldn't do it except to download the app.And then the app is constantly pulling up things on my phone throughout the day. I had to deduct 2 starts for that. The tv should come with a fully functional remote for older people, like who we bought it for, who don't have touchscreen cell phone or tablets. If you don't have access to wifi you are out of luck with this tv. You won't be able to adjust anything but the volume. That was a really stupid idea. Besides that the TV is fine. Good value for the buck.

    Vizio offers great product for the money

    This is my second Vizio Tv. Very pleased with the quality of the picture for the price you pay. I'm having to get used to the idea of using my telephone as the remote control for the TV. The TV comes with a basic remote. You power the TV on/off, control volume and channels and change source with the remote that comes with the TV. But all menu and setup controls have to be done with a smart phone. They say that is the direction all TV manufacturers are headed. Once it is set up, you get used to it. Don't really see much advantage to it.

    Good hardware made unusable by smartcast

    First off picture and latency for games is just fine, although I haven't tweaked it all that much due to the menu system only being accessible via a phone app. The standard remote only allows you to select input, channel up and down , volume and to pair with phone. The phone app is rightly rated 1 star on the App Store and is completely broken. Took 5 attempts to connect Bluetooth with phone placed ( as directed) next to TV. You can try to connect via wifi, but this fails after you try to get it to connect to your home network, making you have to restart the process. Once connected, the menu on the phone is slow, repeatedly drops out, needs reconnecting every time you tab out, and needs settings sent 4/5 times before they register. A complete waste of time to save a few buttons on a remote... Tip: go for a model before smartcast or you'll be sorry.

    Your standard Vizio but not "smart"

    I normally only buy Samsung brand TVs, but decided to try and save a few bucks so i went with this Vizio. (Not sure if this says anything about the quality but the screens on the first two sets i purchased were cracked) In the end i returned it and spent an extra $170 for a 60" Samsung which i am extremely happy with. PROS: -I did like how quick i was able to sync the TV to my iphone and use it as a remote. -I was also able to cast youtube and other apps easily from my phone to the TV. -lightweight CONS: -The picture quality was standard Vizio quality, which is not crystal clear but what you'd expect for a budget TV. (based on Vizio's marketing statement "Experience superior picture performance powered by full array LED backlighting with 10 Active LED Zones" i was expecting better.) -this is not a "smart TV" in the normal sense. there are no apps on this TV. you are expected to open an app on your phone/tablet and cast it to the TV. -feels cheap in quality

    NOT A SMART TV

    The sales rep failed to mention the Smart TV is different then a Smart Cast TV. When i took the TV back he was unaware there was a difference. You can not use any apps on this TV has to be casted through a mobile device. When I took it back to exchange it was an ordeal even though i took it back 2 hrs after i bought it. The same TV with the smart app ability is apparently being discontinued shortly and had to be ordered so i now have to wait 2 weeks to get the new one...not a great experience.

    nice TV if you want a new TV every year or so

    I bought this Vizio TV and was thrilled with my purchase. We have 3 other Vizio TV's in the home- all have been great. this picture was amazing until a little over a year from purchase, the screen went Black. Visio gave me trouble shooting ideas but they don't work. Im told it would be over $300 to get it repaired if it can even be done. NO thanks.

    The television performed as expected until it bit the dust after 2 years. The picture was good, all of the HDMI connections were great, but then the screen went black and VIZIO doesn't stand behind this product. I will never buy another VIZIO anything.

    My Wife Loved it!!!!

    I purchased this TV for my wife who is recovering for surgery and had 5 weeks of bed rest. I hoped that the built in WiFi would allow her to pass the time a little quicker and she loved it!! It was super easy to use set up and in just a few trys she mastered all the bells and whistles.

    You must download and use the Vizio Smartcast app on a smartphone or tablet to set up the tv. Your smartphone or tablet will then work as your remote. This is how you will access apps like Hulu, Netflix, iHeart radio, etc. Once you have your smartphone or tablet set up as the "remote" you then leave the Vizio Smartcast app and open a new app like Netflix that you wish to use. After you choose something to watch, you will send it from your smartphone or tablet screen to the tv screen. The real remote provided in the box with the tv only controls settings, volume, channels, and power. This makes things 10 times more difficult. I would much rather have the old traditional remote.

    I bought this TV because I needed a larger TV for my living room space and wanted a Smart TV so I could access Netflix, etc. I guess I wasn't really in the loop on Smart TVs so I figured they all did the same thing. I didn't realize that the Vizio only had access to certain apps, therefore limiting what you can watch. HBO Go? Nope. CBS All Access? Nope. If I realize my choices would be so limited I would have opted for another brand. Spend the extra $$ and pick a better brand.

      Thanks for your feedback. A few things to help you. The first thing is that the SmartCast App is only needed to connect the TV to your network or access advanced settings of the TV. Second is that you have access to any of the thousands of cast capable applications available in the Google Play Store or the iOS App store. All you need to do is download the app you would like to cast, log in to the service, if necessary, and tap the cast icon on the application. Once you tap on the icon you select the Name of the TV and it should automatically start the app. Think of your Smart Phone or Tablet as a powerful remote.     You know, I loved Vizio, and stuck up for them all the time, throughout many TV's and many years. After my 2 year old, model E550i-b2, just randomly started turning itself off, I was very frustrated. Let it sit for about an hour and then you would get about 10 min of TV time. Why am I forever done with Vizio? Because this is not a one of a kind problem, in fact it seems to commonly happen to people, and it seems to happen right when your warranty is up. Disgusting. Do not buy Vizio if you want longevity ...

    This is not a smart tv

    I was debating between this television and a 50 inch television. When i saw that this said smart phone remote, I asked if the apps were loaded on the television as well. The best buy employee said yes, they were. I didn't like the idea of having to stream stuff to television through phone. I was told that the phone to tv streaming was photos and videos and stuff, and that apps were through television. So i bought it. Get home, can't figure out how to load apps, so call customer support. They say the apps are no longer loaded on television, and that all apps have to be streamed through your phone........which completely and totally makes this NOT a smart tv. I am giving serious thought to returning it, but might be able to deal with streaming through phone. Will definitely not buy a vizio again if this is their idea of a smart tv. Picture is awesome, sound not so much. definitely look to another brand.

    55" Chromecast TV

    Chrome cast is not what I expected...I'd call it a 1/2 smart tv. As fo the TV it's self the diplay is perfectly fine but it is very annoying that the words do not match the video (peoples lips). The sync of the audio and video is very intermittent no matter how I connect the inputs. A couple extra dollars for a better TV would have bee worth it.

    This tv is the worst purchase I've made . Why in the world would yall create a tv remote without a menu or setting button? Why do I have to download a app just too adjust the settings? Why do I have too buy a tablet or a extra device just use this other than using my phone. This tv should be taken off the market. I am returning this tv first thing in the morning.I was very excited to get this tv for my wife so she can watch Netflix in comfort of our bedroom and now she is very disappointed also.

    Built in Chromecast is garbage

    What a waste, spent extra money to get the 55 inch and the 70 inch and neither one of them will connect to devices easily. Sometimes you have got to try and cast 10-20 times before it will take. Other times it wont at all and even fewer times it will connect right away. I just tried to connect to both using my phone, PC and tablet; none of them are connecting. Plus the remote is horrible. ZERO feature remote, you are supposed to use your phone but most of the time it wont connect. I have had to pair my 70 inch ten times in the last week and again today when I tried to search it the TV wont even come up again. My plug in chromecast wasn't great but it was 100 times better then this built in piece of junk. Don't waste your money, my kids generic brand smart TVs work way better than these junkers and their FUNCTIONAL remotes make them a whole lot easier to use too.

    Terrible, awful, no good piece

    I read the reviews before purchasing and thought surely it won't happen to us... I was wrong! So wrong! Worst purchase we've ever made. The warranty only covers the tv for a year, and of course it went out on us 1 year and 2 months after we purchased it. BTW- I called Vizio just in case they would make an exception and they said the warranty expires 1 year after BEST BUY buys the tv FROM VIZIO, NOT from when YOU BUY the tv from Best Buy! The lady I spoke with also said the power something or other (I was too mad to listen) was going out and that's why it shuts off randomly, won't turn on sometimes, won't connect to the Internet, and the volume won't work half the time. She said once these things start they just get worse because it's losing power and it might not be worth the money to repair. What a waste of $600!!!! I will never buy a Vizio again!!!!!

    Disconnected from Internet every 10 seg

    Don’t reflect the light but disconnected from Internet every 10 seg or every 10 minutes but if disconnected in 10 seg turn off the tv and go to sleep because that night he don’t want to work haha.
