Love the picture on this. Definitely worth the extra bucks to upgrade to the M series vs the less expensive E or D series. The remote has room for improvement, but I use a Logitech harmony so it's not a huge inconvenience. Built in Chromecast is great, I look forward to the upcoming voice control options with my google home mini as its functions are somewhat limited, controls Netflix via Chromecast but not my google play library which seems a bit backwards

I had been looking at and browsing television sets for a few months. We had a 65 inch LG 3D Television from 2012 which I was never really happy with. So I decided to downsize a bit and picked this open box item up as well as the Vizio 5.1 sound bar system and WOW! 700 bucks for a home theater system unbelievable! Bright, vibrant, very detailed television set. And the sound system is exceptional!

I used to be a Sony fan for years until I cam across Vizio. I have bought over 10 Vizio TV's for various rentals. The quality is excellent and the durability tremendous. I can interchange speakers, plugs, TV mounts. Every changer, speaker works with other Vizio TV's. This TV is excellent quality and is easy to switch into chrome-cast and cable. The picture is clear and of excellent quality. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the TV. I will continue to buy Vizio TV's, speakers. I don't even consider others at this point. Like living in California -why would you want to go anywhere else.

Great television and color depths. Picture is rich for the price. This is a great budget tv, the downside to Vizios is of course the lack of sound quality; it’s terrible IMO. Be ready to plug into your home theater system or a good sound bar.

This is a great Tv, it take some time to fix color setting once set it gives great color. I took a few days before I found the UHD setting once I turned that on the color and clarity was fantastic. The picture doesn't exactly show the great picture quality

The price on this TV system is great! It's HDR and smooth picture once you calibrate it. My PS4 Pro now looks BETTER than my previous 4k TV. HDMI 1 is the only one with HDR/ARC compatibility other 3 HDMI ports are 4k. It is native 120 refresh rate and it does not have that "opera" feel to it. Has a nice menu look. There are apps built in like Netflix, Vudu, Amazon.... 4k streaming is smooth and nice. Great picture! For the audio I have it plugged to a Vizio Surround system and it sounds great. Chrome Cast built in (it picks up 4k streaming), so if you are a Chrome Cast user like me it's a perfect marriage. TV is slim and easy to wall mount. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND whether If you already have a 4k TV in search of an upgrade for the HDR and Dobly Vision features or just looking for your first 4K TV!!!!

Open Box - NOT "Satisfactory" Condition

Bought what was described as an "open box - satisfactory" model. It was discounted pretty significantly from the clearance price online. I got it home only to find out it has significant screen burn. This would not qualify as what "satisfactory" is considered according to Best Buy's terms. This at a minimum should have been "fair" condition or either not able to be sold.

Best Vizio TV ever! Clarity is outstanding!

The TV itself is OUTSTANDING! First of, when it says 4K They Mean 4K! I previously had a regular HD 50" smart Vizio TV and I just felt like I wanted to upgrade the size and def a little and got a 55 inch and let me just say, it's A BIG DIFFERENCE! I trust Vizio not only because it's a reputable brand and a great product at a reasonable price, but because their products actually do what they advertise to do. You obviously get what you pay for; but with Vizio I would say you get more. One of the few things I will point out to is that the bigger the screen size dimensions and higher resolution you get, the more pixly and awful standard cable (SD) will look. It's not something noticeable when your from a distance but when your up close, the clarity might not look phenomenal. But that's just standard cable . Other then that , my PS4 and xBox One look stunning on this bright, vivid, 4K TV! Especially when watching 4K Blu-Ray Movies And Netflix (streaming 4K) etc. The only thing that is a bit lacking is the remote control; kinda of basic, plain and unimpressive. No matter what, the picture on this Vizio 55" 4K UHD HDR TV is absolutely outstanding!

I bought this tv for my son’s apartment as he recently graduated from college. This tv replaced the 32” Vizio he had purchased when he was in college. Setup was super easy, the color is fantastic and the ease of use makes it a great buy. Both movies and sports look great on this set. The soundbar and sub really make this a theater like experience! There are other manufacturers that claim they have great pictures and a better price. If you purchase based on price alone and get a cheaper tv from a different manufacturer, you will be disappointed with the consistency of the picture across the screen and the jutter present during motion scenes and sports on some other brands more affordable TVs. I bought a different brand, same size and features, for our home last year. By the next day, it was back in the box and returned. This Vizio is a great tv at a reasonable and affordable price.

Compared to other 55 inch TV's of the same price, VIZIO offers 4K with HDR, thereby offering a better picture quality as opposed to no 4K that other brands offer at the same price. While initially I had read that the sound is not great, I actually found the sound to be pretty good, though I feel there's more of bass than voice. It was REALLY easy to install and pretty light weight too, that you could do it all by yourself, though they recommend 2 people for installation. A built-in chromecast saves you a further 35$ and the ugliness of having something hanging from your TV. Great TV overall. Would definitely recommend.

An amazing TV for the money, the employees lied..

I consider myself to be obsessed with good picture quality. As other obsessed people know this makes it hard to find a good display for less money. I have a 65in LG OLED in my living room and was having a hard time deciding on something nice but more cost efficient for the bedroom. At first I bought both a LG (led/lcd) and a Samsung KS8000 and neither were even close to being satisfactory in a darker room. Both TVs exhibited major backlight bleed around the edges of the TV and both had poor screen uniformity (cloudy image). I do have to admit that owning an OLED TV will make you very sensitive to both backlight bleed and screen uniformity but both of those TVs were a major let down even with my lowered standards. After researching budget TVs on multiple sites (Rtings.com and cnet.com) I found that the Vizio M- Series was the highest rated/best performing TV for under $1k (mine was $699). What really sold me was the local dimming backlight array they used instead of the standard edge lit style lighting. So the first Best Buy employee I approached and told that I wanted the Vizio immediately told me not to buy it. He said it was the most returned TV, was made in China and had poor image quality. I asked him what he suggested and of course he recommended a $1500 Sony. This is even after I told him I wanted to keep the price under $1k. I shrugged him off and said i'm going to look around for another minute. After doing some more research I stood with my original decision and approached another employee and asked to get the 55in M Series Vizio. Once again I kid you not he told me not to buy it. He insisted that it is the most returned TV, "does not have smart tv apps or functionality" and has poor picture quality. Then recommended a Sony or Samsung for double the price....I said just get me the TV and i was on my way. Overall this was the worst experience I have had at a Best Buy. He told me to wait up front for the TV so I did for 15 minutes only to walk back and find it sitting up against a pole with no one around. Anyways... After getting it home and set up I quickly calibrated the image (based on cnet and rtings.com preferred picture settings) and popped in the 4k Planet Earth II UHD disc. My wife and I were both blown away with what we saw. Of course it is no OLED but holy cow does the picture have excellent black levels and pop. Backlight bleed is non existent and the image is very vivid and sharp. In summary two employees tried to stop me from getting the TV and one of them straight up lied about the TV not having any smart functionality such as apps. If you are looking for great black levels and image quality I highly recommend the 55in Vizio M-EO for $699. It simply cannot be beat for that price.

My living room tv suddenly failed last week, so i needed a decent 4k tv without breaking the bank. I looked online and found this Vizio. it was just under $700. it has a 55" 4k screen with Dolby Vision HDR and hdr10. first off the tvs picture is excellent. It also seems to make my sound bar much improved over my last set. the bad stuff the smart features of this tv don't work really that well. I couldn't stream 4k from Netflix or VUDU it would either downgrade to 720p or it would crash. The phone app that can be downloaded to control the tv isn't the best software. its got alot of bugs. When I hooked up my Xbox One I could stream from VUDU and Netflix in 4K HDR no problem and the picture is great. as long as you don't plan on using the smartcast features I could easily recommend this tv

Has great picture for the money! It is the 120 native hz tv. Easy to setup, remote is nice. Only downfall I think of is only the one HDMI port (1) supports both 4k and HDR. The rest of the ports are just 4k. But you can easily solve that with a HDMI switch that supports 4k and HDR.

My real complaint with this TV is the lack of a TV tuner and the remote. I already knew this going in but didn't realize the TV tuner market is a bit limited on your choices, especially for matching up with a 4K TV and what you would pay for one. On the remote, I don't get it and I've seen similar complaints on other brands so this isn't just a Visio, they all have decided re-invent the wheel. What annoys me the most is the Visio remote has no color separation and shapes to differentiate the choices. Its pretty much all black buttons of the same shape for the power, source, settings, etc. Good luck in a dim lighted room which button to hit. The other thing is the remote feels evenly shaped so figuring out what is forward or back by feel is another complaint. Though my old Samsung remote was long and narrow, I could tell without looking at it what I was doing because even the bottom was unevenly shaped (batteries on the bottom so bigger there), power button was round and red, as well had a light up feature on it. No such thing here on Visio's. The number pad is at best the easiest thing to see. Otherwise, to me, the picture is great and had compared this to a Samsung of similar size, model year, and specs, as well as price. The only difference between the two is Visio had a better refresh rate (much more important) and the Samsung had a better picture. Since I already know what to expect with the better picture and lessor refresh rate, wasn't that happy about it with the other TV I bought for another room and read enough reviews and comments that it looks bad, which it does, I went with the Visio. My recommendation is if your looking for a high quality 4K TV, wait. Even when looking at the $2K+ TV's didn't result in good feeling that this technology is ready for both longevity or the picture quality being boasted. If you absolutely need one, stay under $700 (not on sale) for a 55-60 for at least another year. To me, the Visio was just as great as the more expensive TV's but for less. Time will tell if any of them will last long. My last TV before giving out was a Samsung Plasma and had the capacitor didn't go, I would of been on year 12 with it problem free.

This Vizio TV has great picture quality for its price and size. I use this TV as my main / living room TV. My area is not ideal as there is sunlight during the day. I have shutters but doesn't completely block the sun, so it still shines through about 20-30%. This TV, on calibrated or vivid picture quality setting can offset the glare. Vivid is too bright for me, so I watch in standard mode (Energy star) or Calibrated. Picture is fantastic. I'm able to test 4K resolution with HDR and looks awesome. Even standard Blu ray looks great. To get the best out of picture, I have Xbox One S attached to HDMI 1 - as it's the most up to date HDMI version. The Xbox One S can stream and play 4k blu ray. I just use standard HDMI cable as it's not required to have expensive cable to transmit 4K signal. From when I bought this TV, it was only $599.99 which is great price. Yes, there are better quality TV's out there, but this is good enough for me. It kinda hurts my eyes watching 4K all the time so I do limit my viewing time. This TV doesn't have a tuner, though. I don't have cable nor HD antenna so it doesn't bother me, but might be important for others. I didn't care about the sound quality as my TV is connected to my trusty Bose system (not just a sound bar).

Bought this the day after Christmas for $699 and so far I have nothing to complain about. Picture quality is top notch and I haven’t even played with the settings yet. But the main reason I bought this TV was because of the 120hz refresh rate. I wanted to be able to play games like FIFA and Fortnite with minimal screen lag. I’d have to say this has been the best gaming experience on a large TV I’ve had.

Excellent picture with hdr Dolby vision. One the few TV's of this quality for the price. If I was to be crtical I would complain that there is no coax input for antenna, the TV legs are not attractive(look like coat hangers), and the remote is kind of basic. Other wise great budget TV for 4k
