It’s 70 inches and it’s 4K. But it’s barely a smart TV. Most apps are missing from the Vizio platform and the image quality is TERRIBLE. Blacks are getting crushed left and right, big splotchy grey/black areas abound. Artifacts EVERYWHERE. I’d never buy another TV from them again if I can help it. Absolute trash.

TV has developed lines in the screen after just 8 months of normal use. going through any menu or watching content, lines will show from top to bottom where colors merge. Also. when watching HDR content, backgrounds will brighten and darken randomly. Very underwhelmed with the quality. Have to pack and ship it back to Vizio for service. Still not sure how I'm going to pack up a 70 inch TV, I haven't kept the box, After a month I threw it away.

I got this set before I got the PS5 with the intent to replace a previous generation Vizio tv. I was looking for a good value set with next gen options and this was the best value per price I could find at $649 at the time of purchase, however there are some downsides to this set I found out after buying it. THE BAD: first is that this is a "Black Friday" holiday set, that being said, it does not come with all bells and whistles from the M-series. First downside it's that it comes with the V-Gaming Engine instead of the ProGaming Engine that it's included within the same lineup and this is a big deal breaker as it does not support major functions you may want on next gen consoles such as HDMI VRR and AMD FreeSync also does not offer 4 HDMI 2.1 but 3 and so far I can't find any information regarding local dimming for this set. It seem it has them as I can compare from the previous sets but there is no real information about it anywhere. The set claims to be 120Hz however after tinkering with it with my computer and my PS5 I cannot support those claims, as both PC and PS5 seem to be capped at 60Hz I contacted Vizio support and their representative told me that they are aware of this and they are working on a firmware update to set the refresh rate at 120hz with the PS5 however they did not mentioned any time frame for it's release. The Good: Again this is a VALUE set, with a good panel for the price, colors are really accurate after calibration and has decent darks for the price, it won't blow you away but for $650 a 70" there is not much in the market to compete with. refresh rate at 60Hz it's still decent for next gen consoles and screen tearing its low on high paced games input lag is also OK, not great.. the tv recognize the 2.1 HDMI input and give you RGB HDR 10 with decent colors, again not great but decent. To go above this set in quality you would be seeing +$1000 price tag attached to it for sure. advise: if you are looking for a set for a Xbox x or PS5 I would recommend to go with the M65Q7-H1 if you don't mind a 65" set at $599 right now it comes with all the right tools to make gaming a better experience.

      Hello Hecmig,

Thanks for your detail review! Regarding the refresh rate of this TV, the native refresh rate does NOT fully describe the TV’s motion clarity technology. The “open cell” or “native” refresh rate describes only the glass panel’s ability to refresh the image on the screen, without taking into account the benefit of the scanning backlight. The “native” refresh rate for this TV is 60. VIZIO’s TVs have a Dynamic Motion Rate, which better describes the TV’s ability to achieve motion clarity through the use of its glass panel and scanning backlight. The Dynamic Motion Rate for this TV is 120. VIZIO

    Best Bang for the Buck

This is the absolute best bang for your buck TV. If you’re reading this review at the time of the sale ($649) and are on the fence, I’ll try to relieve the anxiety. Pros: 1. Great color, deep blacks, white whites (Dolby vision content looks amazing) 2. 70” is the perfect size (for me anyway, I didn’t want anything bigger or smaller) 3. There are a lot of settings you can tweak to get a bright picture 4. For next gen gamers; this TV comes with 3 HDMI 2.1 ports 5. Input lag is extremely low Cons: 1. It’s capped at 60 Hz at 4K but my Xbox did allow me to switch to 120 Hz at 1080P 2. You can’t connect Bluetooth headphones/speakers 3. Built-in speakers aren’t the best (I picked up a Vizio V-Series 5.1 soundbar which sounds amazing at the price) I originally purchased a Samsung 65” TU7000, another budget-friendly 4K TV along with their Q60t soundbar and I just wasn’t happy with that setup. Once I saw this TV I decided to pull the trigger, and couldn’t be happier.

I’m not sure what people are complaining about. The smart features work great. The TV looks amazing and the remote looks similar to the remote of all the new TVs. Note: if you haven’t bought a Tv in a while and like the big bulky remotes, you will not be happy with the remote of any brand. ALL TVs are going to more streamline remotes that have similar features to Apple TV, fire stick, and Rocku. The good: There was absolutely no lag on my TV when watching internet programming. I have a 300mbps internet connection. It is possible that some of the people experiencing issues may have internet connections that are not fast enough to support 2160p content effectively....especially if other family members are on the internet at the same time. This TV is crystal clear. The colors are vibrant. There are multiple settings to choose from if you prefer cooler or more vivid settings. The sports setting looks great with football games. There was absolutely no pixelation when watching the action. The TV also comes with tons of free tv channels like Pluto, etc. With my whole house antenna, I was able to get 89 over the air channels in San Antonio. With my old Samsung, I was only getting 61. Connecting a sound bar was seamless. I love that this TV has a feature that allows you to see the volume when controlling an external speaker with the tv speaker disabled. For example, I can turn the volume to 22 and I know that my sound bar will be at the perfect level I like. Previously, on my old TV, I didn’t get a volume level when using external speakers if the TVs speakers were disabled. For the bad: I was bummed to see that this Tv does not allow you to upload additional apps such as HBO max. Initially, I was just going to connect a Roku to it. However, after trying the smart cast feature, I was blown away with how well it worked. The picture was flawless and without pixelation, even when casting 2160p content. I’ve never been a fan of casting, but the feature worked so well I elected not to install the Roku. My second complaint was that the TV doesn’t have a TV guide. It only shows the programming info for the channel you are in. Vizio, people love the TV guide and you should really include it in your TVs! My third complaint would be that the TV is not do a great job of upscaling 480p content. Maybe it’s because of the size, but my The Samsung in my family room seems to do a slightly better job at upscaling. For the most part I try to avoid programming that is not HD so this doesn’t bother me, but I thought I would mention it in case that is an issue for some. Overall, I am extremely happy with the purchase. For the price, it’s a steal.

Have only used it for a couple of weeks. For the price the tv has a really good image quality. There is some glare from the lights of the ceiling fan but that is easy to remedy by turning fan off. It does take some initial play with the picture settings in the different modes (sdr, hdr, Dolby) to show the colors as close to intended (will never match oled but cannot ask for that even for more expensive quantum TVs). SmartCast isn’t the best for the smart features but I already had a roku. Calibrated dark seems to be the best picture option to work with in my case, but I did make some additional changes to the settings of the calibrated dark.

Got the M Series for an amazing price of $599 which was the deciding factor when I got the TV since I wanted a 70/75 inch for less than $1000. Watching TV is great and it has a pretty good picture. Streaming movies or apps offer also a decent picture quality. However, watching 4K movies offer only a limited performance since this model is a BestBuy only model which lacks the local dimming. The picture is also fairly dark and lacks some color. The 4K BlueRay disk performance was pretty poor when watching Planet Earth. It looks a lot better on my Samsung NU 8000 from 2017. The remote is bad and that seems what everyone is saying. You cannot download apps to the TV and will be forced the cast the phone apps to the TV. The interface is ok but it is slow and the remote needs more sensitivity. The sound is not an issue as I linked it to a 5.1.2 Vizio Soundbar which is awesome. It linked perfectly via ARC and supports Dolby Vision. Overall I was considering a Samsung Q60 or a TCL 6 Series but both models run around $1300. I always loved my Samsung NU8000 which has a better remote (One Remote) and the same or better TV and movie performance. I expected a little bit more and probably to much from this M Series but given the $599 price tag it still deserves a 4 star rating.
