Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the E-Series 70" Class TV's excellent picture quality and affordable price. Many are first-time owners of such a large screen TV and are very pleased. Setup is easy, and the smart TV features make streaming movies simple. While the remote control is small and the TV is heavy, these drawbacks are minor compared to the pros.

TV had great picture and worked fine until about 13.5 months of owning. LEDs started to go out randomly. The LEDs going out really did not bother us since they are so small and there were only about 10-15 spots on the TV this occurred. What really upset me is that at about 13.5 months of having the TV a "dark" spot about 8" in diameter appeared. This is not a burn mark and we have multiple TVs so we do not use this on all the time (Maybe 8-10 hours every 7 days) Since the TV went out of warranty at 12 months VIZIO declined to help. I am guessing if I got the geek squad protection I would have been taken care of. This will be the last VIZIO product I buy.

Prior to purchase, I examined a number of brand-name units. Clearly, the Vizio E-Series was the best combination of price, size and features. The only question was whether it would deliver on its promise. It does! I've owned Vizio before and have always been pleased. This model is no exception. Only negatives: The acceptable viewing angle is less than other brands of this size; beyond about 30 degrees from straight on, the picture begins to wash out. But this is typically not an issue in most viewing situations. Also, the sound is not great, but again, this is not a serious issue because in most cases a 70-inch unit will be paired with some type of dedicated sound system. Speaking of sound, here is an example of a sensational feature: The line-out for sound contains a setting for 'variable,' which allows you to control the volume of an external sound system with the TV remote control! This is an unbelievably wonderful feature, and rare among television sets. Experts advise that you should always go with size. In other words, you should purchase the largest unit that your budget will allow. This television is the absolute answer to that approach. The size per cost ratio cannot be beaten, and the overall quality is excellent... all in all, a tremendous value!

A great deal for the price and it is huge!

Overall what a good deal. The size is the main reason I bought it. Had a 60 inch Vizio, almost exactly the same although from reviews this is better picture quality aside from ten inches is a big difference. Main mistake people seem to make (me included exchanged the 60) is not going with the biggest tv you can get! What I'm saying about the internet being a little slow is pretty much the same with other smart tvs, and its actually fine, if you want to make it faster buy a roku to go with it. The sound is pretty good for flat panels, but a sound bar is a great help to add later on. Very happy with this purchase! Just got it, hoping to wall mount eventually.

Wanted an LED TV with a 65-inch or bigger screen, built-in WiFi, and a VGA or DVI interface for my home-theater PC(runningWindows XP Media Center Edition). Did not find one with all these features at the price of this one. DLNA-compatibility is a nice feature. The Pandora app is developed well, although I will rarely use it to play music through this television's speakers in my living room. Having a QWERTY keyboard on the remote control is a wonderful and unique feature and the YouTube app is outstanding. On the negative side, VIZIO needs to update a lot of these apps. For example, the first video the YouTube app shows as one of the recent videos is "Charlie Bit My Finger", which is several years old by now. Same issue with the Yahoo Sports app. You have to be a paid subscriber to HuluPlus in order to use the Hulu app(unlike the Hulu website where you can watch episodes without the need to login with a password at all). I'm not a Facebook user, but my wife logged into the Facebook app with her account and it is not very user-friendly to navigate or customizable. Most of the other apps require a paid subscription and/or simply aren't very useful. I bought a 22-inch VIZIO television a couple of years ago and it has a television Guide feature that will actually show you what is scheduled to play on a particular channel in the next couple of hours. The Guide button on this 70-inch TV seems to only display what is playing at the current time on the particular channel you are currently tuned-into.

    My 70" Vizio

I really like this tv. At first you may think the size is to big but it's not. After getting it and getting used to it you may find yourself wondering if you should go bigger. It makes you wonder why you were considering a 55" for a little bit cheaper price. It connects to all features flawlessly. Netflix has frozen on me once. The remote also has a keyboard on the back which makes it easier to type. You do have to point the remote towards the bottom left of the tv. The tv volume is pretty good by itself without a surround sound. I have one but its not needed. The tv is heavy when in the box and is a two person job trying to get it in the door. I haven't had any problems other reviewers are complaining about and bought the extended warrany just in case. Give this tv a try. You can always return it if you don't like it that much. Just because your reading this means your considering it. Enjoy.

The TV was easy to setup, and instantly integrated with my Verizon Fios remote. Setup of WiFi was made easier with the QWERTY keyboard remote. After setting up WiFi I plugged in Ethernet cable, and it instantly switched off WiFi. Picture quality and sound is good. Although this is a "Smart" TV, the USB connection will play pictures/music, but not movie files like my Smart BlueRay player will.

I replaced my 73" Mitsubishi DLP television with the 70" Vizio Smart LED HD TV. What first attracted me was the low price. Let me just say right now there is no comparison, the Vizio beats it by far. The picture quality is tremendous and the sound is great. Very easy to setup only took minutes, the keyboard on the back of the remote was a great idea. Blu-rays and games on this TV are fantastic, will never buy a DLP TV again.

I am happy with the huge picture quality, clear, sharp picture ,vibrant colors with minimal adjustment ready to go out of the box. We have a surround sound system so I can't comment on the sound quality. Easy set up using HDMI cables hooked through a DirecTV cable box I have noticed a split second black out when changing channels I can live with this. This set is very, very heavy & you need a strong & stable stand. Requires two big men to lift it in place unless your a weight lifter.

This TV has been on the market well over year now and still holding in at $1600 retail. Great picture, sound is ok, but this is a smart, 1080p 70" LED TV for $1200 on sale!! Insane value. I personally broke the bank and found it open box!!

Bought this tv after much research into similar sized Sharp tv's, and not regretting it at all. Note: I run audio through my home system, so have not used the built in speakers, so I gave it an average score there. Calibrated tv after purchase picture is now sharp, bright, with a good contrast level. Overall a very good picture, and better than my older LCD panel by quite a bit. The picture does not meet the same level as some of the Samsung large screens, which I use for reference, but I also got it for thousands less. The Vizio remote works fine, I like the fact that it is dual sided, but disliked the fact that it is not a universal remote. I programmed my receiver remote to do most of the functions of the vizio, so I do not use it all that much. The reason I purchased this was size, and boy is it impressive in that regard. Got it home and hung it on the wall, and it looks great. Slim bezel helps too, this thing looks like all picture on the wall.

For the money this TV satisfies all of my expectations. I love the clarity of the HD picture, it is beyond what i have experienced with other brands. The ease of the remote makes it very simple and user friendly. Having the internet options right on the TV is awesome. Love my new Vizio!!

Great size and design. I only really have 2 complaints: 1. Sound is pretty bad. I recently had to purchase surround sound as I was catching myself having to turn the volume up more than I should just to be able to comprehend certain voices/tones. This may partially be due to the 20+ ft ceiling above the TV 2. Picture quality is "OK". Some scenes look spectacular while others can look pretty bad. I came from a 50" LG plasma which looked really good and had much better blacks. Given the LG is about 5 years old now I was expecting a bit more from the Vizio.

I like this TV because doing a size vs cost analysis this is a good buy. I came from a Panasonic plasma with excellent THX certified picture quality. But that TV was twice for what I paid for this Vizio. Good Stuff: 70 inch is a good size for watching movies and TV in HD. Tons of picture/color settings. Sounds is good too. It connects to internet via either wireless or wired both. Smart apps include all the popular apps Netflix, Youtube, Amazon Prime, Pandora and facebook etc. Remote is good and the keyboard on the backside definitely helps when using sites like facebook. Bad Stuff: Compared to the screen, its base is tiny. For that reason, this TV when touched even slightly rocks and sways like a drunk. Seriously its so bad that you think that the base would give in and your TV would crash on the floor. I am keeping my kids away from the TV until the day I cuold put it on the wall. If you are thinking about putting it on a table then please make sure you are okay with the this joke of a base. Colors fade when TV is watched from the side. if you are off from the center of screen of anymore than 45 degrees you can notice that colors start washing out. It gets worse at you move into extremities. Conclusion: Only thing I am worried about this tv is the base. I am happy with everything else but just wanted to point it out anyways. As some people like to know every detail. If you like big tv and are on a budget then this is for you. It offers a big screen, smart features, tons of picture tuning options, excellent picture quality in a light package. I recommended this to my father in law and he got one as well.

This TV is awesome! We use it for business and personal. We can connect it to a laptop, pull up a client website and shoot testimonial videos in front of it and it looks spectacular! The HD picture quality is out of this world! My son has the Xbox One and the NBA game looks like you're watching a real game! It's got tons of widgets, but mostly use Netflix and have it also hooked up to Direct TV and an Apple TV. I would recommend it to anyone!

A great tv at a great price. I went from a 65 inch projection tv that was still working well but wanted to regiain my living room. Easily mounted the Vizio on the wall and gained a whole new floorplan. Easy to set up with the features i wanted. Actually the tv does more than i know how to do but i am working through the menus with only a few problems. Has a great picture, the remote seems to be easy to navigate with, and compatible with all my "devices". The price is a plus and so far i am very happy with the purchase.

I have been looking for a 70" for quite some time. BestBuy sent me an email ad about this TV- I checked it out in store and immediately purchased. It has all the features I wanted ( Smart TV, 120hz, Razor thin and lightweight. The picture? Stunning-spectacular-unbelievable- and it's still set on the factory settings- I haven't even changed any settings. I don't know if i will need to- if it gets any better picture, I'm afraid I will never leave the couch. HD and Blu Ray look fantastic. The sound is not excellent- I rated it good because I'm biased. My TV's are wired into my personal sound system- receiver, speaker system with subwoofers, etc. They can't make sound like that come out of these TV's. I'm genuinely impressed with this TV.
