This soundbar puts our pretty good sound for not having a subwoofer. It is perfect if you want upgraded sound with good base but either don't have room for a subwoofer, or if the subwoofer would be sitting on a carpet. I originally had mine sitting on top of a glass entertainment stand, but there was too much bass vibration. So, I found two black foam pads, and put one under each end of the sound bar, getting it off of the glass. Problem solved. I have it connected through my Roku device into a Samsung One Connect box, and can control the volume with my Roku remote.
One issue to note. Most streaming services and shows do not broadcast Dolby Atmos.. For Netflix, you must subscribe to their premium UHD plan to get Atmos. And, that is then only for movies and shows that are encoded in Atmos. So, if you are looking for Dolby Atmos sound, before buying this sound bar, be sure to make sure that your streaming source and smart device are able to support it.

Warning! Known Side Effects To Occur With Use.

If you are looking for an inexpensive soundbar without a satellite woofer and has "pleasant" sound. This is NOT the soundbar for you. Purchase the Vizio V-series.
Unpacking. Vizio packs it well with easy to understand instructions laid on top. Surprisingly (unlike so many other brands) they include the HDMI e-ARC cable. The e-ARC cable is a two-way cable so it receives signal and sends signal. In my case, the AppleTV box connects to the soundbar, then the e-ARC connects to my Vizio TV.
It is virtually plug-n-play. One trip to the TV settings for Audio so the TV knows it has the e-ARC connection. Done.
WARNING! Side effects DO OCCUR with use. Especially the first time... say with the latest Top Gun: Maverick movie. You will experience INTENSIVE satisfaction from the Dolby sound. You will feel the need to groan in a low growl of immersiveness when you feel the built-in subwoofer rubble while the midrange and high range feels the room with sound from every corner. You will become an acoustical addict — to the point that there really isn't anything else you should do but get your sensory overload every week night or weekend watching movies and seasons of original shows.
Bestbuy and others, placed the M-Series All-in-One bar on sale for $149. I purchased it online and had to wait a week for it to arrive. I was tempted to cancel and order the V-Series which was approximately half the price on sale as well. I thought otherwise and kept my $50 savings on the M-series. BEST ELECTRONIC PURCHASE DECISION... EVER!
The build quality is excellent. Vizio provides everything you need for connecting to your TV. If you connect to the Vizio TV, it can be controlled with the same remote. Vizio has made their electronics work like an Apple Watch is to the iPhone - super easy. I use the AppleTV remote for all basic functions. However, if you wish to customize the sound then you will need the remote provided with the soundbar.
Overall. This is the best complete and compact soundbar — even at the regular $199 price. But keep a look out for sales. If you can't wait... don't delay. Buy it... throw away the receipt because you will not be returning it. ;)

I bought this to replace an ageing 5.1 sound system in my home office where I have a 55" HDTV. Its compact nature is a big plus. Now, there are no wires running along three walls in the room, no large subwoofer taking up floor space, etc. The sound is very impressive. At moderate to high volume I've had no distortion and the sound does fill the room which is approximately 460 square feet. Best of all for me is the high quality of dialogue in movies. I watched the movie "DUNE" last night and was blown away by the quality and presence of the soundtrack. I recomment this with one reservation. When powered down but left plugged in, the center of the soud bar remains quite warm to the touch. Solution? I use a switchable power strip with it and simply switch it off when not in use. When I turn it on and turn on the TV, the Hisense U7 recognizes the sound bar and defaults to it. The programming to switch between movie, music, etc. is straightforward, but no visual indicator on the remote costs it one star on 'ease of use'. It was on sale at Best Buy for $150 which I think is an exceptional value.

I'm no audiophile, but this sound bar provides amazing sound given its price. Although it doesn't have the rip-your-face-off bass of sound bars with discrete subwoofers it does have really decent punch in the bass ranges. It provides clear dialog and I suspect it would let a lot of people turn off closed captions when they stream British murder mysteries. Music played at background levels is clear and crisp. I'm new to Dolby Atmos (or whatever), so I can't really comment on the sound features that it is supposed to produce, but it does provide great presence in my den.
Its set up is plug-it-in-and-turn-it-on easy (get an optical cable if you don't have HDMI ARC on your set), the form factor is sleek, and the status LEDs are unobtrusive. Be sure to give the easy-to-understand instruction literature a read through to learn how to use all of the features.
This is a great choice for an entry-level sound bar and it won't break the bank.

I was skeptical of getting a soundbar because of past experiences with them, but based on video reviews from sound and tech professionals I decided to give this a try. In my humble opinion this is the best sounding soundbar under $200, the built-in subwoofer gives some great bass and the Dolby Atmos sounds terrific

Surprisingly good entry-level all-in-one soundbar

This is a very good choice for an all-in-one soundbar at a budget-friendly price ($150-$200 range). It works with both HDMI ARC and HDMI eARC ports as well as the older optical port. The center channel helps to bring out vocals/dialog and the bass levels are surprisingly good even though it doesn't have a standalone subwoofer. Wjile not the best-looking, this soundbar seems solidly made and the low profile fits in well with most modern LED/OLED TVs. And the overall size of this soundbar makes it a good choice for smaller rooms.
Cons: (1) Even though it is labeled as having Dolby Atmos, the actual effect of Dolby Atmos on this soundbar is negligible at best. Don't buy this expecting to hear that effect; there simply aren't the required upfiring speakers to really generate that sound. (2) The bass while good on this soundbar can sound distorted at high levels (or even at the normal level). I actually turn down the bass level a notch or two to compensate for this.
Despite these shortcomings, if you don't want to spend a lot on a soundbar system for your TV or don't have enough space for a multi-channel setup, this M-Series soundbar is a good one to consider.

For a relatively inexpensive Atmos soundbar, this certainty is pretty good. Low profile with very good sound quality. I have had some issues with getting this to stay connected to my TV, but that may be a TV issue. Super intuitive with great volume and bass control. The soundbar does vibrate more the bassier you make it, but the levels are easily adjustable. Overall, I have no regrets buying this soundbar, especially for the price.

Downsize Upgrade

For what it is, this sound bar is good. I moved into an apartment and needed to downsize from a Yamaha RN303 and vintage Wharfedale Valdus 400 towers (dual 8s!!), and just wanted “better” than the tv speakers. That’s exactly what you get here. Voices and sound effects come through clear, and while the bass isn’t room shaking, it provides plenty of oomph for its size to make our movies and video games enjoyable. Music isn’t going to be amazing, but definitely a step up from small Bluetooth speakers. The “virtual surround” does widen the soundstage a bit, but at the cost of some fidelity. Overall sound quality is good, though at times it can sound veiled or murky, but that’s to be expected of such a small, budget unit. The EQ settings can help tame some of that, I have mine set with bass around 75% and treble at 90%. I’m not blown away, but definitely satisfied and would recommend to family/friends.

I wanted to give this a 4.5 of 5, but there's no option to give 'half' stars, and I can't in good conscience give it only a 4, so... I'm giving it a full 5 stars. For what it is, I think it deserves a great rating.
If you're specifically looking for a stand alone soundbar without a separate sub woofer speaker, then I believe you'll be very hard pressed to find a better option than this. Compared to stock tv sound, the difference is out of this world. I also think it sounds better at louder volumes, instead of the sound quality diminishing at louder volumes as with some things. Also, I've seen a couple other reviewers say they dislike the appearance of this? I disagree with that sentiment. I think this soundbar is very stylish and attractive.

Vizio Delivers High Quality & High Value

This Vizio soundbar received numerous reviews indicating it was a quality unit. We bought it to use in our den in conjunction with our TCL 75” series 6. That TV has decent sound but like all these, the speakers are not conducive to good audio. Thankfully the Vizio soundbar has fixed those issues. For an “all in one” unit, the sound quality is impressive. We needed improved dialogue within shows, and there is an EQ setting for that…or for a number of other needs (movie, music, etc). Good bass, midrange and treble…all adjustable. We love it and especially the price…great value.

Overall this is a great soundbar for the price and if you’re low on space and want to avoid a subwoofer. Despite no external subwoofer there is some nice base that is clean as long as you dont turn up the base too much. If anything i has to turn the base way down as out of the box its a little heavy. I havent tried the mounting but its supposed to adjust automatically. I got this on sale for $150 and I’d its easily worth that price. $200 is pushing it but any sale price is worth it and will provide clean sound for movies, games, and regular tv viewing.

I bought this for my parents as they don't have the right space for a full 5.1 surround system. This soundbar produces an amazing soundstage that truly feels three dimensional. It added so much more depth, not just volume, to their Vizio tv. It was a breeze to hook up. I like all the EQ presets, especially Dialog, so you can hear voices so much better but I prefer Direct to get the true sound of the source. It's also great for streaming music from your phone and sounds good with the Music EQ preset. One downside is that it's hard to get the battery cover off the remote. Overall, it's a great value and I would buy one for myself if I didnt have 5.1 already.

After thinking it over I decided to go simple for the second tv but still wanted good sound including base and other up sound. Bass is good, volume is good and there is some surround that surprised me. I am very pleased for what it is. It is not my full surround system with the main tv in the family room nor was it expected. My only issue is that it doess not always turn on with the LG tv which I think is tv software that gets "temporary error " on last step setting Vizio to be controlled like that. No problem controlling sound once it is on.

The product is 4 starts. This was very easy to set up and the sound quality exceeds my expectations for a single sound bar unit at this price point. We have listened to movies, sports and even the evening news sounds good!
My only complaint is not on the product but the shipping. It shipped in the box that you would get at the store - no plain brown wrapping. It was a gift for my husband. He found it first. Surprise ruined. I'm so used to ordering on Amazon and having things come in a plain brown box that this surprised and disappointed me. Do better, Best Buy, or at least make it more clear and I would have had it shipped to my office or father's house.
