Great idea but you just can’t fight basic physics.

I really like this humidifier. It has modern look and no filter is required. The water is boiled before vaporized so you don’t need to worry about bacteria or mildew.
But after using it for couple days, it has to go back to the store. The mineral buildup just kill this thing. It gave me error R2 and won’t vaporize water anymore. Think about it: what get left over after you vaporize all the liquid — salt!! Human have been using this principle to make salt for thousands of years!! Even you have water softner to replace the calcium with sodium, it is still mineral. Only way to get this thing to work and last is using distilled water.
I have open space and about 1000 sqft. I use about 6 gallons a day to maintain comfort humility level during winter time. That is about $6 a day if I buy the 5 gallon bottles. $180 a month of water for humidifier is a lot of money.
I really like Vornado product but not this one. I will replace it with a traditional fan type humidifier from Vornado. I can afford $12 filter once a month.
