Vornado 80X is the dc powered (quietest and lowest energy use) compared to their Model 80 that is ac powered. This 80X has a digital display and shut off timer along with a kickstand. Vornado has a winner with this DC motor powered Model 80x.

One AC condenser not working properly. Tech found a broken coil that was leaking freon. Ironically, I had purchased the outstanding fan while waiting in Geek Squad. Purchased the Vornado fan to use while cleaning out the garage. It is powerful, yet so very quiet. Different levels can be obtained dependent on the flow needs. Didn't think the kickstand would be advantageous, but was I ever wrong. Best fan I've ever purchased.

I bought this to replace a Wind Machine which was just as good at half the price, but it only lasted 3 years. The Vornado is well built, has a solid stand, a bit smaller foot print than other box fans, plus a 5 year warranty which is why I decided to purchase it. I like the sleek design but it seems a bit expensive, but if it lasts 5 years it will be worth the higher price. Lastly it is comparitively quiet.

I have several other (more expensive) Vornado's including 3 "large" ones (732DC, older 723L, older 710L). This one literally blows the others away in terms of raw wind speed and air volume. It is also considerably louder (on high). However, with it turned down slightly ([75-85], it puts out more air (speed & volume) and draws less power than the 723DC at full speed and sound volume is much more reasonable.

Amazing Fan. Blows very cold and expands across many rooms in an open area. I did not need to use it as a window fan and that was the best thing. The back doesn't get hot, so its just constant cool air coming out of it. It blows very far in a straight line, though cooling down the room was actually by pointing the fan to a corner in the room. I started off at 70 speed and never had to increase it.

Perfect on hot days having drinks with friends outside, giving a nice breeze and also helps deter the mosquitoes

Moves air better than your average box fan. The adjustable speed makes it decen in a small space.

Very quiet, easy setup, and I really appreciate the removable grill; it makes the fan very easy to clean.

I would buy this box fan again in a heartbeat. Other box fans I've had are just to whimpy to bother with. The Vornado is extremely effective.

Easy to use and cools down the room. Would I re-purchase, yes! I am purchasing another.

My A/C went out and I needed another fan. This one is great.
