It performs very well and this, in addition to another model we own, helped us get through the recent bout of near-zero temperatures while our furnace decided to take a multi-day break and stopped working.

The heat setting is very loud and the fan blows loud then gets quiet over and over. It does not seem to be able to maintain a temperature that is set. Its not great for a small room at night.

Posted .The Velocity 5R is one of our most powerful heaters and is louder on the high setting. It is Auto Climate and will reach the temperature set, then cut to half power to try to maintain the temperature. When the temperature drops, it will engage again on high.
