it works great for the purpose. I got it for my mother to use, she recently broke her ankle and has to keep it elevated about 80 to 90 percent of the day for the first couple of months until cast removed. After that she can gradually get back to normal use. She was in a short-stay rehabilitation center after hospital and they had cordless phones in the rooms. That is were I got the Idea to get one to swap with her corded phone. I got this phone about a week prior to her release Set up was real easy. I added phone numbers that I though she might call in the phone (after she got home I added some more). It has caller ID so she can see who is calling (she did this before) This works great for her since she can keep the phone right next to her so when people call she doesn't have to get up every time. She really likes having the phone handy since she isn't able to walk around like she use to "YET", as she likes to says and she is getting there. Her only negatives were that it had a different sound compared to her other phone when it rang. I told her that I could switch back to the other phone any time but it wouldn't be cordless. she said you don't need to do that it's ok.

When my old cordless phone died I decided to replace it with an inexpensive model. This is a home phone for me and wouldn't get heavy use, so a basic model seemed to be a good idea. However, after a week or so I ended up returning it (thanks, Best Buy). The phone is OK for the price, sound is fine and features are adequate. If you're looking for a very basic cheap phone this would be an OK choice. My primary issue was the display, which was weak to the point of being nearly unreadable to my 50+ year old eyes. The font is also quite small. I had to hold it directly under a lamp to see it at all. It looks nothing like the display shown in the web page image. It's possible I had a bad model, or this just may be the way it works. The good news is that Best Buy will stand behind the product if you have a problem.

I've had a traditional corded phone for years and I hated being literally tied down to the base because I couldn't extend the cord very far. I finally opted to purchase a cordless phone for convenience, as well as practicality. I also wanted a phone that had caller ID built in. This phone meets my requirements. I love the directory feature, too, and have just set it up. The ring is not too loud, but is loud enough to hear (and you can adjust the volume - for both the ring and in-call). The only thing I don't like so much is the phone has a delayed reaction when you are punching in numbers. It was difficult to get used to and I would punch in the same number twice thinking it wasn't registering, but then I would have too many numbers. I've gotten used to it now. Also, the batteries in the phone took about 12 hours to charge completely when the phone was brand new, out of the box.

    Squishy buttons and feedback delay

When I push the buttons they are squishy and I can't tell when it accepted my input. This is exacerbated by a delay in the tonal beep that normally accompanies dialing. I push the button and shortly there after I hear a beep. When entering numbers quickly you must go on faith that the numbers were accepted. This is especially disappointing and annoying when using a menu system and entering credit card numbers as you can't be sure it took the last number. It slows me down and I have to press a number, wait for the beep, press a number, wait for the beep, and so on. I've been limping along for months with this phone as it was a backup, but I've begun using it more and can't stay silent about my frustration and disappointment.

This phone has a lot of features for a basic phone. I use it with my Google Voice ObiHai without any issues. The only thing thing I've noticed that I wish it had was a speakerphone function. Otherwise, I have no complaints thus far, and it is working well. The reason for the 4 stars as opposed to 5 is primarily due to the bang for the buck. It is a relatively inexpensive basic phone, but lost among all the other provided features are what I would consider basic ones such as speakerphone. It is excellent for its price range, but overall as a product, I'd say it deserves four stars (perhaps 4.5) as opposed to 5. If your intents and purposes for the phone are simple like mine, then this phone is a terrific, quick & easy buy. I would recommend it.

I purchased this Vtech because i needed one fast to test out my landline. This phone i primarily for my children who are 5 and 10 years old. In a world of cell phones, it was not easy to even find a wide selection of landline phones. I grabbed because it was inexpensive and not bulky. It's also not a heavy phone as i recall having some heavy ones back in the days. When i started to input the few numbers it's going to have for my children to call, it was not user friendly. I takes so long to input the name and numbers. good thing there is only one button to scroll through the directory so my youngest is able to look for our numbers. So all in all i gave it a 4 because it does what it was suppose to do. my children can use it to make phone calls.

    CANNOT be wall mounted

    Posted
    BadlyMisled

Do not buy this phone if you intend to wall mount it. In spite of the fact that the box and the specs say it can be mounted on a standard bracket, it cannot. No bracket is included with the phone. The mounting studs on a standard bracket are four inches apart. The slots on this phone are 3 1/4 inches apart. I checked Lowes and Home Depot looking for an alternative bracket and have been told that four inches is and always has been the standard. That is all they carry. I called Vtech. First they said it couldn't be mounted. Then they said it could. I asked how and they had no answer. Very disappointing to be so misled.

Our cordless wall mount phone died after many years and we needed a replacement for the tile back splash under our white kitchen cabinets. We had a difficult time finding a wall mounting phone that fit properly under the cabinet. This one fit perfectly and the color looks great. We were very surprised at the clarity, even in the back yard. The handset is lightweight and I find it comfortable. It doesn't have a speaker phone, but we didn't need one. It has caller ID and also a voice mail indicator which appears as an icon on the display rather than a flashing light, and a handset locater button on the charger. Very happy with this purchase!

This cordless phone is absolutely a phone. I got home phone service with my cable bundle, so I figured I should probably purchase a phone to use said service. This phone works and makes and receives calls. In your home. I got it to work in my yard, too. Reception is clear for at least 50-100 feet, through a half dozen or so walls. At this point, I think it's kinda strange to have a house phone, having gone years without anything but internet service and a cell phone, but I don't regret picking up this phone. It's oddly nostalgic. Anyway, it works. Don't be afraid to buy it.

I have a similar model which was purchased 10 years ago and I am so happy with it (it's still being used in the kitchen), that I bought this one for use in the garage when my old "corded" phone finally died. The only difference is that the other model has an "in use" light on it, so you know if someone is on another phone. But it's not a big deal to me, so I give this phone a 5-star rating because it does what it is supposed to do and its predecessor is so reliable. No fancy bells and whistles, but I wasn't looking for any!

I was looking for a very inexpensive phone that can be used in the garage, so heard while outside away from the ringer of our indoor phones which are all linked to one main base with satellite bases. This has proven to be the perfect fit for our needs; under $20, has a wall mount, and top it off, it came in white which shows up perfectly against the dark garage stuff (if put down it is easy to find) no problems at this point (a couple months old now) No static sounds or buzzing in the ear piece. So far, so good :-)

I mostly use my smartphone but some cases i only give out a landline to people or businesses. This works perfect. I don't need too much; just a caller ID, cordless, and decent battery life. Funny that over the years I've always opted with Vtech. I bought one set years ago of a different brand and it lasted through spills etc but the battery was awful. That's when I almost always used a landline. Just wish this had speakerphone. It comes in handy a lot. As I said, it serves my purpose and low price!

You have to have an electric outlet close to the phone outlet or buy a long phone cord to go into the phone outlet( extra cost). It has black cords with a white phone & looks awful in my kitchen since the phone outlet is on one wall and electric is on another. There seems to be no speaker phone to this portable phone, so calling some place and having to push this button and that button is difficult to hear & push at the same time. The only good thing about this phone is it was less than $16.00.

I bought this so I could take conference calls at home and not burn all my cell minutes. I didn't need anything fancy, but found that this phone felt cheap -- like something I would easily break. But, I could have lived with that. However, I needed decent sound quality -- at least as good as my cell phone, but found this to lack clarity. Maybe I got a lemon; I'm not sure. But, I returned the phone and decided to double my budget.

I have not had a home phone for years. But after trying to negotiate with the local cable service they told me if I had internet and cable tv it would cost more money than if I had the bundle of internet, cable tv, and home service. So I am saving a few dollars having the bundle. So I purchased an inexpensive phone for the home. The phone is light and feels a little cheap. But it is what I was looking for. It does the job just fine and no problems with this inexpensive wireless home phone.

I was looking for new cordless telephone for my mother. She's a bit older since her last telephone purchase and wanted something she didn't have to fuss much with. She also wanted a telephone that was easy to read. This telephone suited her needs and is inexpensive too. Its also light enough to carry from room to room. The battery holds a charge for quite a long time too, so it does not need to be returned to the cradle for charging. Overall its a good telephone for a good price!

Not bad for the price. Buttons are a bit flimsy, no speaker phone option that would have been a price booster but worth the extra bucks. This was the only phone without an answer machine also ,I was not in need of one and since most service around these days included voice mail I was surprised I was unable to get a better quality phone with a speaker phone and no answer machine. This Will turn out to be a device where the battery will cost twice the amount of the device.

First, for the price, this is a great buy. The only thing that is mildly bothersome is that this is one of those phones with a slight delay between pushing a button and the corresponding tone. When dialing a number this isn't bad, but when using an automated menu one must be patient so as not to miss a tone in the menu. As stated, it's a very minor complaint, but it is exactly the kind of thing that someone who uses the phone a lot will wish they had known about before buying.

This was bought as a replacement for essentially the same model that saw its power supply transformer die...and the replacement cost for the power supply on Amazon was almost the same as a whole new phone. All the features you need are still there, but the little red indicator light to show you the battery was charging is gone, a shame. If you need a cheap phone (we use this on our bed headboard shelf) this will fit the bill.

The phone is not great but good for the price. My only gripe is the fact that it doesn't have a voicemail at least not that I can figure out how to work if it did but also the volume low is too loud for my Apartments so I kept it on silent which defeated the purpose of owning a house phone. I think the phone would be more worth it if you can control the volume a little more specifically than three different volume settings.
