    Way to Shine

First things first. I did not have enough room under my eve to fit the spotlight. As you will see in my pictures that I had to add a cord and change out my eve electrical box to an outlet (yes, I know it is not an outside cover plate, that will come) Once wired up and sealed I was able to mount it to the side of my house. The mount is two screws to the house and one threaded screw form the spotlight to the hardware. From here you must fasten your Google Camera mount with 2 more screws, then twist on your magnetic camera base. Once mounted and power is turned on, that is it. All you must do is aim the lights and wait for dark. There are no settings for the motion sensitivity or length of time the light stays on. I was a bit surprised at this and thought these features would be missed, but in my case, no adjustments needed. At night, the spotlight turns on after it detects movement from 13 to 33 ft away. The light turns off after 30 seconds of no motion. All in all, it works as it should. I really like it. Lights up my driveway nicely for visitors. (The light is 2400 Lumens.) The big bonus for the Google Nest Camera is that it is now powered all the time. I find I get much better detection and recording this way. Your recordings will also look much nicer with the lamination of the spotlight versus night vision. Durability is not yet determined as I have only had it a few days. Hopefully the LED’s last a long time. The unit has only a 90 day manufacture warranty. Options – You can purchase a separate anti-theft mount that you can secure to the light to prevent theft if you feel it is needed. I would recommend to any Google nest Camera (Battery) user that wants some extra light for the camera and supply electric power to your camera.

Excellent alternative Floodlight for Nest Camera

Review of Wasserstein 3-in-1 Floodlight Charger and Mount The Floodlight that works as accessory to the Google Camera Battery is well made and sturdy as hand on upon opening the package. It has convenient charging connection and a second motion detector, and fits well with the parts that comes with the Google Camera. For installation also comes the necessary 2 screws, small screws, screw cap, crossbar, 3 wire nuts, 1 Eva gasket and manual in English, Spanish, French, and German. The process of wiring it is not different to others, but only attaching the camera is unique baed on the Google Camera Battery itself as it require use of wall plate and magnetic plate that comes with the Google Camera Battery. Once placed all together, it fits perfectly as if it were a single piece. Upon installing it and getting ready to use, at the end notice there are two motion sensors, one form the camera itself and the floodlight. As per Wasserstein technical specification: 1. Multifunctional security system, secure nest cam in place, power continuously, and bright illumination; 2. Enhance visibility and the light provides 2,400 lumens wide angle LED lighting; 3. Motion Activated, motion detection from up to 33 ft away; 4. Built for outdoor with weatherproof IP65 rating and built with high-rated rugged material for harsh weather conditions, 5. Designed specific for Google Nest Camera Battery. In overall, it works nicely and detect motion as intended as per first few day of usage. Some might argue two sensor be not optimal as they are not synchronized or integrated to the Google Home application for single process causing some differences in between detection and lighting. Only dislike I would notice are the charging cable is visible and then it doesn’t come included the Anti-Theft Mount having to obtain separately. As last note, for conscientious buyers this combo is a bit more affordable to the the one body version of Google Nest version with trade off consisting of described above.

Great additional option. Turns nest camera to a high powered night camera theft deterrent system. Pros Adds nest cam to motion lights Great bright lights Motion sense activated Allows for anti that Wasserstein to used as well Allows for charging of nest cam Cons Big foot print needed. Won't work in a tight spot like under roof eaves Requires electrical experience Back is not circular and is oval shape so it does not fit on a regular round box Other than that. I would recommend this product based on pros.

Cutting to the chase. This is best for those that already have a reachable light fixture that they don't mind dismantling. Or if you already have an old floodlight fixture that t you don't mind replacing. The wiring is pretty straight forward, but if you're like me, and don't want to get shocked or even worse, please find a professional to install this. I'm not very crazy about the color, because I feel like it's going to get dingy really quickly. It has great range for spotting motion and it is plenty bright. Affixing the nest cam magnetic base is is really easy . Just a few little screws and it'll be gripping the floodlight like me with a chocolate bar on cheat-day. Once it's connected to power, all that's left is to plug in the charger to the camera. There you have it. A floodlight ready to to blind anyone unfortunate enough to be looking in its direction when moving within range. I just wish it were easier to install, considering how simple to use the Nest cam is. So it would've been great to have it's own power cord or source of power. I don't widely recommend this as it does take some skill or a professional( recommended) to install. But if you're needing to replace a current floodlight fixture, go for it.

OVERLY Sensitive to Motion. Mounting screw issue.

Honestly, the form factor/design and brightness of the light are great. Install was easy enough but either the length of the center screw on the cross member Wasserstein supplies for the j-box needs to be a bit longer or the length of the hole itself a bit shallower. The gasket depth plus the mounting block makes it extremely difficult for the screw cap, which I guess could also be a bit longer, to reach the center screw. It took a lot of effort to get it to work. It should be designed with more room to work with. I took off one star for that. The biggest issue is the sensitivity. It is EXTREMELY sensitive and triggers to flying insects, even mosquitos. This was a massive issue as it became a nuisance to my neighbors. There is also no way to calibrate the sensitive settings so it is worthless as a light unfortunately. The it only acts as a charger for my best cam but I purchased it for dual functionality. Perhaps if you didn’t have any neighbors around it might be acceptable but even then a security light should alert you to more credible sources of movement, not insects or leaves. Two stars for the light brightness and charging.

The Wasserstein 3-in1Floodlight Charger mount is a very powerful light. I did have some trouble mounting it as it was a “tad” bigger than my old (probably 2000 model) floodlight. Once I got the old light down and this one wired in, it went smoothly. As far as function, this thing is extremely bright, far, far, far brighter than the old version I had. And its simplistic, which I really enjoy. No bells or whistles as far as setting go. Our home is a ranch style home that is 75’ in length and this is mounted basically at the half-way point. The older GE light could barely light up 10-15 feet in either direction. This Wasserstein is amazingly bright and the “zone” of the lights almost extend to the very edges of our home. I left my extension ladder up on the day I installed it and took some time “tweaking” the lights which are simple to do. When someone approaches (Wasserstein says motion detection is up to 33 feet) it comes on and really allows a lot of light for whoever is approaching. I have a lot of deer/fox/coyote in our neighborhood and they have caused the light to come on. Which, in my opinion is a good thing, because now I am picking them up on my outdoor Google Nest camera, which IS NOW CONSTANTLY POWERED (YES!!!) because this light stays on for roughly 30 seconds. I didn’t give it five stars, and I may be nitpicking here, I thought it would be the same size as the one I replaced, and it took some work to trim out a piece of siding to make it look aesthetically good. If you are looking for a REALLY bright, and good spotlight, purchase the Wasserstein 3-in-1 Floodlight charge mount for Google Nest. T

The Wasserstein Floodlight is one stout unit and Bright, not day time bright but dang near. I setup the unit in my back yard to record the garge entry plus my Husky's area. My dog is in love with this light at night, she runs around like crazy now at night instead of hiding on the porch. On to the product itself, packing is nice and includes all the hardware for install, no running to the hardware store unless you do not already have a light fixture, i replaced an old 20w bulb fixture with this one. Install was super easy and the design makes it so fast to install, in 20 degrees during the big snow storm I was able to install it in legitly 15 minutes. You are probably wondering why I didnt wait, all I have to say is 4 girls that play sports, i dont have many free days. The camera now stay easily charged and the lights helpbsee everything at night, and I mean everything. The sensetivity is great, to the point an ant farts and it turns on. My wife and I really like the looks of the product as well, we plan on adding another to the driveway as well buy may look for a darker color so it blends in if they have one availabile. Also, almost forgot to mention, the lights have really nice articulating design, pointing them werenyou need and want. And for securing the camera, the Wasserstein Floodlight has a built in security cable. To be honest, i could cut it in 2 seconds if I really wanted that camera, so mount it high like and other camera setup. I am really liking the products from Wasserstein, I now have mulitple and all have been great products.

I have been impressed by the product. The installation seemed straightforward but I needed a longer ladder from my buddy to reach my existing fixture. But once he was up there he did the installation himself and either way we both agreed that it was really easy. The instructions are very clear so if this is your first time, it should be fine. However, replacing a fixture will be much easier than installing a new line and you would need professional help because of the voltage, so keep that in mind. The product design is wonderful and the everything fits well together. Let's hope that it retains the color with the passage of time. Performance is good as well. It is plenty bright (very) and is sensitive to movement. What else can we ask for? Also, with constant charge it keeps the Nest watchful and will not require me to go up and down to charge it. Highly recommended.

I wish i could give this negative 5 stars. Please, take my word for it. I am a professional installer. The box it came in is worth more than this product. You can physically cover the ENTIRE motion sensor and thia this will still make the lights go on 1000 times a night. After a few weeks. The unit will burn out. Spend your money on the actual Google Nest Floodlight. I reviewed this on Wasserstein's website. They deleted it.

      Hi,

We’re sorry to hear about your experience with the product and we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. This floodlight is motion sensor activated. Motion sensors are often affected by humidity and hot and cold temperatures. Motion activated lights become more sensitive in colder temperatures. We'd like to know more about the problem that you encountered with the product. Please get in touch with us via email at [email protected] and we will resolve the issue.

    Bright Lights and Bright Idea

Before buying this, note that it doesn’t include the Nest Camera and I don’t believe you can make it work with other cameras. If you already have a Nest Camera, this is a must-have. It not only gives you a motion sensor floodlight, but it also adds a charger to it. Installation was easy for me because I already had the wring. I have done this type of install many times and have no issues with it, but if you don’t already have the wiring available and you don’t like running power cables yourself, a pro is recommended. Bright lights with a good motion sensor make this a must-have for the Nest Cam. One thing that many users, myself included, will find missing is an option to keep it on for longer intervals. You’re stuck with what it offers by default. This is an issue with most floodlights, but manufacturers should have started to add some smartness to them by now. This is the smart IoT devices generation after all. I’m not that young anymore but I like smart homes and wish even my floodlights had some “intelligence” built in. The only other thing about this floodlight that may bother some people is that its footprint is a bit overkill in my opinion, but it’s just a matter of perception and it doesn’t get in the way of functionality. A great additional feature is the charger for the camera. This gives me peace of mind, especially when I’m away from home and can’t recharge the batteries. I would say the charger was a bright idea, but it would sound like a pun although not intentional. Overall, it surpassed my expectations.

I bought this intended for mostly the flood light feature and what a disappointment. I follow the instructions on how to install this, from color matching the wires to heat shrink wrap to make it clean. Once I turned it on, the switches the settings to record 24/7 but the flood lights don't even turn on. I attempted to rewire it again, still no luck. Placed a return and had to order through another retailer since Best Buy doesn't have any more in stock. This next time was there was no power whatsoever. Not a product I would waste my time with.

    Swivels with brightness

This is my first Wasserstein Floodlight install. It is made specifically for battery powered Google Nest Cam and it comes with magnetic mounting and charging cable built-in. It has very bright LEDs and good motion sensing. It is so bright, I wouldn’t recommend looking directly at it. What makes it great is that both lights can swivel, so you can point them at different angles or directions. The one thing is not optimal about this floodlight is its mounting base, it is not round like most regular flood lights - it is an elongated oval shape, therefore it will not fit in an existing round fixture mounting plate. So unless you’re mounting on a flat surface, you will have to get creative especially if you have vinyl siding, regardless it's a good value.

    Clunky Afterthought

I was really excited about this product when I got it. I really love my Nest Cam but had always thought for my use it was best suited as a floodlight cam. So this product sounded great, I could use my existing nest cam and pair it with my nest cam. But after getting it setup I’m a little disappointed. The setup: Setting it up is fairly easy. It does require you to use wire nuts and handle bare electrical wire. If that makes you uncomfortable I recommend calling an electrician. Once you get it mounted, that’s really it. This product is really nothing more than a standard motion activated flood light with a nest cam charging dock. What I liked: It was really easy to set up. Took no more than 15 minutes. The whole thing feels pretty high quality. The lights are bright and the motion activation works pretty well. What I didn’t like: The whole thing just feels kind of hacky. The nest cam and floodlight don’t interact with each other in any way other than there is a cord to key your nest cam charged. You can’t turn the flood light on and off or disable it in an app like other floodlight cams. The design of this floodlight really limits its usage. If you have a vertical reciprocal to mount on the side of your house it will work well. But if you have a receptive under the soffit of your roof the floodlight struggles because the motion detector will now be facing straight down. Because of this the range of motion detection really suffers. Also if your reciprocal isn’t flush with the house the shape of the base means things are unlikely to line up and it just looks bad. My biggest complaint is the total lack of security for my nest cam. There is nothing but the magnet mount keeping my cam on the floodlight. This means someone could easily snag it if they wanted. Overall, this product is ok. I don’t think it’s something you should consider over the 1st pet nest floodlight though.

This is a great addition to your Google Camera! Out of the box you can tell this is a solid, well made, quality product. This does require a wired connection, so be sure you’re comfortable installing that, or hire a professional to do it. I installed it myself and from when I took it out of the box to fully installed it was about 20 minutes. If you’ve ever installed a floodlight, this will be very familiar. If you haven’t, the instructions are very easy and will guide you through the process. After I got it installed, I waited for nighttime to see what this product could do. Right off the bat I was amazed at how much light this put out (they claim 2400 lumens). It easily lit up my driveway and front yard with ease. I then tested the motion detection part and it was easily able to pick me up anywhere on my property and kick the lights on. For perspective we have a 4-car driveway and roughly that same size for the yard in front of our house as well. It also integrated perfectly with the Google camera as well. It was able to provide power to the camera and make sure it was charged at all time. Overall, this is a no-brainer if you are looking for a floodlight to pair with your security camera. It works great, and it a high-quality product!

Good charging mount - OK floodlight...

This Wasserstein product has a few unique advantages - One, it works with the standard Nest Cam (Battery) product flawlessly, and integrates it nicely into an existing wired setup. Two, it works PERFECTLY with Wasserstein's own security mount for the Nest Cam. I previously reviewed the security mount by itself and found it pointless in non-hardwired scenarios as disconnecting the cam to recharge was as difficult for the owner as it would be for camera thieves. This mount solves the problem by providing the Cam with continuous charging AND built-in integration for the security mount. It also adds good floodlights to the mix, although some who are replacing regular incandescent or even high-power LED floods will note that this is NOT as bright of a pair as what they're used to, but I found it lit my driveway well enough to let the cameras capture better color video at night. Thats what really matters. If you seek to replace a floodlight that provides functional lighting to a space, this might not be the best solution, as it works entirely off of motion sensing and doesn't provide the kind of luminance that traditional floodlights do.

Very easy to setup as long as you have basic wiring experience. If you can install a ceiling fan, you can install this. I installed it completely in less than an hour. The light is very bright (I'd estimate it around 1000 lumens) and is triggered by motion. It's a welcome accessory to my Google Nest camera. The build quality is very good and Wasserstein supplies all you need for the install minus the drill and ladder of course.
