It's ok but not fast enough to keep up during fall and winter even in Los Angeles

Not as bad as some reviewers say. Charges my nest cam during the day

Wish the cable was longer. Have not mounted because of that issue.

It doesn't charge the doorbell while its on but once the battery hits around 40% it holds steady for a few weeks!

For a few bucks this takes the worry out of keeping an outdoor Nest cam charged.

Just what every wireless doorbell should come with. A few months ago, I spent about two weeks out of town and didn’t realize that my Nest Doorbell battery was running out of power. About two days after I had arrived at my destination, it just went dark. No communication. It created a lot of anxiety. I know! How did we survive before smart doorbells were invented, right? Fortunately, I had security cameras installed, so the anxiety was manageable, but it was awful to have something that I’ve learned to depend on, and it was down because the battery charge ran out. Easy to install, feels well built, and the cable long enough for my need. Just before I received this Panel, it was rainy and cloudy. But the days have been clear and sunny ever since. So, my experience has been under an ideal condition for solar panels. I honestly can’t say if it is going to perform well enough in cloudy days, but so far it has given me hope that I will never need to charge it again. We rarely get many weeks without sunshine. So, I believe that even during those rare weeks, the battery will have enough charge to wait for sunny days. My only concern here is that the 4W rating doesn’t seem accurate. I measured the output power on a very sunny day, and it was just about 1.9W. That could mean that charging during not ideal weather may not be enough to prevent it from ever needing to be charged on regular power outlet. It should, however, decrease the number of times you need to remove the doorbell to recharge. Not ideal, but still very good. But again, I’m making assumptions here since I have had cold but sunny days.

So far, the Wasserstein Mountable Solar Panel for Google Nest Doorbell is working as promised. I froze installing the unit being 17 degrees out but in all honesty, I spent more time hiding the wire than actually installing it to work. I found a section on my overhang that sees sun almost all day from sunrise to sunset. Being winter, you obviously know sun is short, especially in NE Ohio where we barely see sun from October to May. Even with limited sun, after 4 days installed, my battery is 100% by 11am every day so far. It seems to keep it charged very well, just make sure if it snows to clean it off real quick. The look of it is nice in white, but definitely stands out against a brown porch. The cable is long but I would have really benefited from another 4 feet in length. If you do not have an enclosed porch, make sure you know the cable will be long enough before you purchase the solar panel. This is a great purchase and so far all the products from Wasserstein have been great add ons to the NEST family of products.

Got this for my Nest Doorbell, wanted to make sure I didn't have to take off my doorbell to charge every once in a while. The solar panel works great, no complains, simple install of the 2 wires, I was concerned which wire goes where. The base or stand for the solar panel looks bulky but does the job.

Great product this solar panel keeps my doorbell fully charged. It has been a snowy winter and the panel is partially covered with snow but it still keeps it charged. The panel is small enough that it. Won't look bad if in the line of sight.

This doesn’t work so well. Get the powered camera instead of the battery

I wanted to add a Google Nest Doorbell to my entry way, however a previous home owner swapped the doorbell with another camera doorbell provided by their home security. This was all removed when we purchased the home and they repaired/patched the location where the original doorbell was. There were a couple options but I felt that the Wasserstein Solar Panel could save us having to install any additional wiring or needing to remove the doorbell less frequently (which already wasn't too bad) being that we live in a sunny location with little rain. Installing the solar panel was simple, I removed the doorbell, mounted the solar panel to the fascia and guided the wire down and attached to the two screws on the back of the doorbell. The solar panel feels sturdy enough, the body is plastic, which attaches to the adjustable mount, there is a rigid design over the solar panels themselves. Overall the solar panel is a nice convenience, works well from my experience so far! This helps me with having one less device to worry about charging, currently my Nest says Plugged in with the sun out today, curious to see how my battery status looks once we reach the summer months!
