Customers are satisfied with Wasteland 2: Director's Cut's engaging gameplay, which many compare to classic Fallout titles, and its compelling story. The game's price point is frequently praised, especially when purchased on sale. While some players found the text size challenging, the positive feedback on the turn-based combat, character creation, and extensive content outweighs this concern. Overall, players appreciate the game's old-school feel combined with modern enhancements.

Old school CRPG, deep game

This is an overhead, turn-based CRPG set in a vast (you guessed it) post-apocalyptic wasteland. It has a western feel to its sense of style and art direction. It's very gritty and tactically intense. Players use a party of four to quest through a fun, enthralling story, or even create their own party from the deep customization options. Players will uncover new areas by simply traversing around during the experience. It started a bit slow and quite difficult, but quickly became rapidly engaging and addictive, due to the heavily turn-based, tactical nature of the game. My only small gripes are its learning curve at its opening and the speed in which characters run around the areas being a bit slower than I'd prefer. However, the ridiculous amount of ways to approach situations (lock pick a gate, physically knock it down, steal a key, etc.) makes up for any of these in the greater span of this game's identity. It's a must-play for fans of the original Fallout, Divinity and even X-COM.

This game is taking a while for me because I'm a terrible hoarder. The variety of items that you can stash is cool. I like the turn based attack features, especially since I'm coming from a PC platform. It reminds me a bit of StarCraft with the playability.
You have to be smart with the positioning of your characters and how you interact with your environment. This game makes you think.

Great game with old-school fun and difficulty

Great game that evokes Fallout, the original Wasteland, and the new XCOM games. Has and old-school difficulty in not holding your hand in telling you what to do, but is one of the best games of the year, if you enjoy this type of XCOM+Fallout gameplay and environment. Also, the game has tons of content, 80+ hours at least.

This is a very hardcore and old school traditional RPG, in the veins of the original Fallout games, which were, in fact, heavily influenced by the original Wasteland game released about 28 years ago. The camera has an isometric point of view and the gameplay focuses on strategy, character management, and the consequences of your actions. Death is also permanent, so if you lose a squad member, they're down for good. While not the prettiest game around, if you're looking for some RTS and old school action, this is the game you're looking for. Consider it an amazing blend and mix of the Xcomm series and Fallout series. Definitely would recommend.

Great Game spoiled a bit by crashes

Really enjoyed this game, great story and decent graphics. Has a similar vibe to the Fallout franchise. It's just spoiled a little bit by the occasional crashes that pop up. I'm sure the developers will fix this, but right now it's an annoying issue for a console title

Really like this game. Think of it as the spiritual father of the Fallout series. Its a great game, with a nice story and you are free to play out the story as you see fit. You are allowed to make a lot of choices to do things: like which people to help or not help, how to open doors (keys or rocket launcher), it can be a tough game and it doesn't look anywhere near as good as Fallout 4, but it has a nice charm to it and it was designed by a relatively small studio. The only issue I've ever had is its crashed twice in a week or two of playing and needed me to unplug the PS4. This is something that may not affect people, but I would expect it to be fixed by the developer.

This great game is awesome if you loved Fallout 1 & 2 like I did. This game was basically the basis of Fallout 1 & 2 which are in my opinion the best Fallout games that have ever came out. Old school top down with a high def remake. This game is certainly adventurous and I will take up a lot of your time and a lot of strategy. There is nothing wrong with going back to the basics especially with such an awesome game is fallout 1 & 2 were made by interplay/Black Isle Studios which had made the best PC games possible! Run out and get it and at 40 bucks its a steal especially when Best Buy frequently has it on sale for cheaper

Apocalypse Turn-Based "Isometric" Strategy RPG

If you like turn-based strategy games (Fire Emblem, X-Com) then you will probably like this game. If you don't, this will unlikely make you a fan.
Good Stuff
-Great setting (Fallout without 50's feel, more like Mad Max)
-Deep character creation (attributes, skills, perks, even "quirks")
-Deep and exciting combat (using cover and position, weapons jam, detailed death animations)
-Voice acting when it happens
Stuff to Consider
-Camera angles and controls are wonky
-Text-heavy game (expect to read a lot)
-Small text even on "extra large"
-Unintuitive menus
-Random encounters can be cumbersome

If you are hungering for a turn-based strategy game that's set in an apocalyptic setting, look no further. Wasteland 2 is a great game with massive depth and mind-boggling customization. It's very reminiscent of an old school turn-based tactical game, similar to the older Fallouts. You can't beat it for the price, especially if you purchase it on sale like I did.

This is a wonderfully crafted rpg with many, many options for replayability on an already extensive campaign. I've been playing for about 40 hours (leisurely) and am still in the early stages of the game. You will want to restart after playing through for a few hours to fix your beginning mistakes, but that only increased my addiction to this game!

I was a big fan of Fallout 1 and 2, and was really looking forward to this because of that. I mostly like the game, but the controls are a little bit unintuitive.

Awesome game for the PS4. It definitely has that post-apocalyptic vibe from the "Fallout" series with some of the feel of X-COM: Enemy Unknown. It has more RPG elements than X-COM, just so you know. Great game and loads of content!
