Love the tweaks to the UI and the new drone/rc car. Definitely made the game more challenging while also making it more fun!

Watchdog 1 was a terrible game, but Watchdog 2 was way better. Get it and you wont regret it.

This is was an absolutely fantastic game. If you liked the first one...even if you didn't like the first game, I highly recommend this one. It's another dramatic turn around for an Ubisoft series that didn't start off so hot (see: the first Assassin's Creed). The characters are more likable, the story is more intriguing, the game world of virtual San Francisco is stunningly gorgeous, the driving mechanics are vastly improved, and the hacking is a lot more fun, plus there is a TON of things to do usually covered by clever puzzle solving, which adds that little extra to it.
If there was anything I had to take away from it, was that high powered weapons weren't needed. The game doesn't penalize you in any way for using them, which completely goes against the narrative. Maybe Watch Dogs 3 can look into a game where non-lethal means is the only objective (or have some kind karma system in place for using them).
Either way, I recommend this to anyone. If you liked the first game, you'll LOVE this one. If you didn't like the first game, then this is the second chance you need to give the series.

A Rework more than Sequel

I did play the original and quit after 15 hrs and it just got redundant with the alot of side quest distractions. Eventually it wasnt engaging enough to care about finishing. This game had several main and side quests but the story was much more relevant and felt alot better. The camera could use a little more tweaking but the various ways to play this game (ideally stealth) make it a lot of fun. The melee and sneaking around with drones and robots are welcomed additions. The trophy list is also very reasonable and the multiplayer focus is minimal.

Just about everything is better in this sequel to Watch_Dogs 1. The hacking is more involved, there are more toys to play with, and it feels great to outsmart and prank your enemies.
Most of the problems from the first game are gone. Particularly the driving mechanics, and the horrible story. The only thing returning which are problematic would be the police AI system.. which as usual seems to always know where you are, even being able to spawn right in front of you, just outside of your field of vision.
That said, the game as a whole is a far more fun and adventurous experience. Even the more lighthearted story is a welcome addition. They don't take themselves seriously in this game, even though the subject is something they want you to think about. They don't shove the themes of this game down your throat, as if it was the only thing they cared about.
I've been having a great time, both online and offline. I do recommend it, and I'm surprised (and pleased) to think that.

I can't believe the amount that was improved on since the first Watch Dogs. Where to begin? The driving feels so much better along the lines of Saint's Row that allowed total control over the vehicle (stop on a dime, tight turning, etc). The hacking is completely overhauled in that now you have multiple options when selecting items to hack (overload, distract, set up a trap, etc). The characters are juvenile but so likeable. They're very much little anarchists that are fun to be around. I love the social media aspect and how that levels your character up the more followers you have. The game looks fantastic with lots of lush environments and detail in all the shops and interiors you go in. No bland environments this time around! Oh, and I hopped on some co-op missions with my buddy...more fun than I've had in a loooong time just goofing around with each other. Totally seamless drop in gameplay. An Ubisoft game that actually got the co-op right!!! I can't overstate how much this game deserves your attention.

Excellent Follow-Up to WD1

Watch Dogs 1 was a highly anticipated game that unfortunately to many players, did not live up to the hype. I felt that WD1 was graded a little unfairly because of the hype and felt that it was a decent open world game.
WD2 is an improvement over the original though in almost every way. There are many interesting internet culture references and this game I would say is very meta. The story is less cliche than the original WD1, but it is an enjoyable game. I'd recommend it to most people who enjoy a decent urban sandbox experience.

This game is a masterpiece. Watch dogs 2 is highly underrated and I consider it to be one of the gaming greats. A story you get invested in, lovable characters, comedy, action, a surprisingly accurate depiction of San Francisco, decent graphics, advanced NPC interaction to the player and to each other and yet again highly underrated multiplayer modes. This game is quite extraordinary with realistic characters with real seeming emotions unlike other game characters. This game also features much diversity as two of the main characters are black, there is another main character with autism, a transgender character and there are LGBTIQ+ flags hanging everywhere. Watch dogs 2 is a huge improvement on the first game with updated graphics, a less dark tone, more charisma in the main character and in all the characters for that matter, a more enveloping story line and many MANY more hacking abilities. Overall, this game left me feeling satisfied and I felt genuinely sad when I finished it as the main story was over and I could never again fully experience the joy of playing through the missions for the first time. 11/10, an absolute masterpiece.

This game genuinely and pleasantly surprised me. It improves virtually everything about watch dogs exponentially. The characters, the story, the voice acting, the driving, the gameplay, the hacking, the realism of the city, side content, etc etc are all far superior to that of the original. I'm really hoping ubisoft stays on the track this game has set

It's hard to put into words how much more improved Watch Dogs 2 is next to the original game. Like most people, I hated the first game and I almost completely skipped Watch Dogs 2 because of it. I have to say, I am really glad I didn't. This game is the polar opposite to the first one. First of all, the main protagonist in the game is a lot more interesting and upbeat versus Aiden Pierce in the first game. There is LOTS of humor in this game, but still some serious moments where it is appropriately leveled out. Tons of really fun and interesting missions, with a huge array of side content, so there's never really a dull moment during the gameplay experience. Not only that, but the variety of the missions are great as well. The game never felt boring or repetitive the entire time I was playing it. The game being set in San Francisco adds much more excitement with all the cool scenery. The game includes tons of upbeat music and even some cool interactions between civilians on the street. The story was amazing, with the right pacing and tone. It didn't feel rushed at the end like some games do. I also love the fact that you have a remote control car and drone to use. You can use these items to mark enemies, go through vents to get to areas you wouldn't be able to access normally, and even use them to hack certain items. There are so many cool details in this game, it's hard to name them all here. Overall, Ubisoft did a really amazing job with this one, and I couldn't of had more fun playing it.

The gameplay and storyline is ok. The main character is a hacker. Ubisoft has tried to design the game in a way that it would feel nerdy and sophisticated. However, in my opinion that has made it less user friendly at times. The open world is nice and driving around and exploring SanFran is fun. But having played GTA and Mafia, I found this game slightly less satisfying than the two.

Watch dogs was a fun game and I like Aiden. This game improves on it but at the same time has taken some steps back.
The addition of an RC and droid opens up the world to many possibilities. Get the droid as soon as you can. It helps on so many missions.
There's lots of upgrades as well. Too many, but as you continue the story you'll fill it up. My personal favorite is the gang attacks. Get someone else to do your dirty work.
So the negatives
The cover system is bad. Sometimes you are in cover and want to get out or move, but you might get stuck. Driving and hacking behind is still an issue but you can control cars in front of you which is great.
The story and characters are ok. Has some nice moments but it also has some cringy moments. It tries to be meta. Nothing really stands out besides Wrench. The rest of the characters are just ok. The story seems to be purpose less in a way. There's no definite goal unlike Aiden, which was revenge.
The online is less annoying. It has improved and added some new modes.
Overall the fun overshadows the flaws

I recently purchased the physical copy of this game which I owned digitally, a very pretty game, which my only complaint would be not alot of side quest or activities to keep you occupied after you explore the whole SF city and complete all story missions, but what is there is enjoyable and different then games like GTA V, due to there hack ability with the characters cell phone. Definitely worth getting as I have said before if you enjoy open world games.
