Great open world game, but not perfect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've only scratched the surface of this game, but there's already a lot to love about it. Online hacking is really fun and scary at the same time. You get a rush when you're hacking another player, but you feel instant panic as soon as you find out someone is hacking you. Chicago is represented fairly well, though I've been there many times and notice everything that's wrong about Ubisoft's interpretation all the time. As a game, it holds up just fine, but it's not like really being there. I gave 4/5 stars just because the graphics are a real letdown from what we saw at E3 the past couple years. They just don't look any better than PS3/Xbox360 quality most of the time. The city definitely looks better at night, but that's because the darkness hides so many of the flaws. The close up character animations are just flat out bad, though. They look terrible in cutscenes, which is disappointing. That said, the game really is more about the freedom of being able to manipulate the city and the people in it, and that is a ton of fun. Digital Trips are really a great highlight of the game and a nice break from just running around the city with a phone and a gun all the time. All in all, this looks like it will be a fun game to play for a while.

Good with potential to be great.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Watch dogs is a good game with potential to great. The hacking is fun and the side task doesn't take away from the game. The open world is also good touch. The only downside is the driving, it's really bad and backwards. Your enemies can shoot you out their cars but you can't, makes no sense. But overall it's a good game.

Great game entry in this new generation of gaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great game in the genre, which has a lot of exploration, a lot of side missions, and, so far, an interesting storyline. The only problem I have with the game are the controls for driving cars, its like trying to steer a boat. Other than that, so far so good. Recommended for anybody who likes great sandbox games.

Looks good, Plays good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. An open world game with lots of things to do. Graphics are excellent but some aspects of control (driving) could be better. Overall I am enjoying the game but I keep getting the feeling more could have been done with this game considering the pre-release hype. Overall will rate it 4/5.

Open world is truly open
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Watch Dogs is under a lot scrutiny due to it being too much like GTA. Well let me tell you that it is nothing like gta, let's just say it's more realistic and being so there are many more things that can be done. How about being chased by cops and turning the whole cities power out with your smart phone, while you either run or shoot at them. What about when you break into a car or draw your weapon and citizens notice and call police on you in which you then have the call? This game is utterly amazing, play it for 4 hours or more and you will feel the same.

awesome game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In my short time with watch dogs, I've enjoyed it quite thoroughly. The graphics are great, the gadgets and weapons are fun to use, the hacking of various things around the city is easy and the leveling system is a nice way to gain various abilities throughout the game. Only complaint so far is the driving feels a bit stiff. Not too bad but not quite as good as say, gta 5.

Great next gen game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally I received my copy of watch dogs. I couldn't be happier. The game is great, fun to play, and easy to get into. Driving seems off but not everything can be perfect. Story gets u involved quick and the gadgets are great.

Show the power of next gen
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is probably the first game I've played on the PS4 where I really noticed the vast improvement in graphics and just simply how powerful the new machinery really is. This game, to put it simply, is stunningly gorgeous. There are just so many things on screen at any given time, I'm amazed at how well the system can render it all. Anyways, graphics is stunning. Gameplay feels very reminiscent of GTA (that's a good thing) with special powers and abilities. I haven't gotten far enough into the story to comment on it but so far, it's quite engaging. The only thing I've noticed is that sometimes the missions can get a little repetitive as is the way these types of sandbox games can be. Still that's a minor complaint to an otherwise fantastic game.

Fantastic Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I know there was a lot of hype leading up to this game, 2 years to be exact, but I do believe that it delivered. Watch_Dogs feels like your typical Ubi titles, like AC, Far Cry and splinter cell and it pretty much is a melting pot of all these franchises. The open world has activities on every block which leaves you completing 5 side missions before you even reach your waypoint to the next story mission. The mechanics are a bit complex and don't expect it to be a clone of Assassins Creed either. The game is in a large city with a protagonist thats skills are in hacking and shooting so don't expect him to able to climb skyscrapers. As someone who has lived in Chicago at one point in my life, I have to say I was very disappointed with the way the City was designed. Other than the 80% accurate south loop, the designers took creative freedoms with the rest of the north, west and south side of the city. All in all, the title is a fantastic open world adventure leaving players with more freedom and activities than they would know what to do with.

day one dlc again but still a good game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far it's been really fun. Not as much to do like gta5 but it's still a nice game by itself without comparing to the open world king. Cars steer kind of weird but you get used to it. Hacking everything is a blast. Only problem is the graphics were not as promised but that was expected and the immediate dlc that of course is just regular content that is taken out of a new game only to have us pay to get it which brings the game to the price they really want us all to pay which is not $60. It's pretty standard though so can't complain too much about that. Four out of five isn't accurate though on the rating here, more like 9 out of 10.

Great game!! but not a new revolution in gaming
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Gameplay : Plays like traditional run and gun, duck and shoot, third person action game. The stealth and hacking mechanics are great. 9/10 Graphics: Looks great, when it gets dark the city looks awesome. Walking looks smooth, running is a little weird, but nothing to get worked up over. Animations are fluid and for the most part natural. 8/10 -Overall- Great game, lots of play ability, side missions and extras all over. Overall a great game, but not a next gen revolution in gaming as we thought it would be. Graphics are good, but not the best we have seen from the ps4 so far. I did'nt like driving. 9/10

Fans of open world sandbox games will like this.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you're looking for a long GTA-style adventure to sink your teeth into, then this is it. There is a lot to do, plenty to explore, and numerous side missions to play. Personally, I wouldn't exactly call the graphics next gen, but they get the job done, and for the most part, are more than adequate. The one-button hacking function works really well, but it takes some doing to learn how to consistently control your vehicle when driving. Response is sluggish at best. Overall though, there is much to like about this iteration of Watch_Dogs, and I expect things will only get better in future installments.

Great Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Watch Dogs is probably my favorite game to date on PS4. It's a great open world game with lots to keep you occupied for hours and hours. The hacking is a nice addition. The only think I don't enjoy is the driving and not being able to shoot while driving.

IDK...I'm Liking It So Far!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game is absolutely great! 10 hours into the game I'm absolutely hooked into the story line which I will not divulge to much into obviously. Unlike some reviewers, I can actually relate to the main protaganist and some of his allies. The level up system provides that constant push to complete both side quests and main story lines. Upgrading the hacking tier has been my primary focus so that I can continue to hack the environment to aid me in my missions. Spying on the multitude of random generated characters in the world has been really interesting.

A fresh modern take on the open world experience.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After playing Watch Dogs on my PS4 for about 10 hours I feel I can give a fairly decent review on the game mechanics at least. The hacking is a fresh take on the open world experience. The side quests have that usual Ubisoft feel to them, albeit they do get a bit repetitive. The driving is not as responsive as it is in GTA V. The cops are far more fun to mess with/escape than GTAV. All in all I would say pick this game up if you like Ubisoft games like Assassin's Creed and Far Cry, as it has the usual fair here. Great game for the summer.

Worth the Extra Time
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was sad when they delayed it right before PS4 and Xbox one launched, but I can see it was well worth it. PS4 version has so far run like a charm. Smooth game play with crisp graphics. Engaging and entertaining story line so far. I will add that the initial load time every time you launch the game is more then I'm used to. I'm pretty sure this is because once it loads, there are no load screen for anything. It's smooth and seamless from zone to zone, cut scene to game play. So far its been a good addition to my gaming collection.

Ignore the hate - this game is unique and FUN
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's a really great game. It's an open world game set in Chicago, Illinois. The city is run by an online crime prevention system that your character, Aiden, can hack. This includes lights and cameras! The graphics on the PS4 are solid and the visuals are pretty great, too. If you like open world games, such as Grand Theft Auto or Red Dead Redemption, I recommend you give this one a shot. Start of a new franchise
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As far as new IPs go, Ubisoft's Watch Dogs is the beginning to a promising new franchise. With a variety of side missions and in-game objectives, this title offers gameplay for hours on end. Hacking your way past enemies is more enjoyable than the old-fashioned run and gun, so it feels unique when compared to other open world games. Hopefully Ubisoft doesn't resort to the annual money grab release like other series, because Watch Dogs has the potential to be the next great series of AAA titles.

It's pretty good, but temper your expectations
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This game suffers from WAY TOO MUCH HYPE and of course some people will be disappointed. But if you take it for what it is-- a basic open world game with pretty graphics-- then it's an enjoyable game. I expect a lot of the issues with this game (wacky driving mechanics, too much shooting, unclear morality, repetitive mission structure) could be ironed out with a much superior sequel. Anyway, especially because there's a game drought right now, this is a good way to waste some time :)

Doesn't live up to the hype, but still a good game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are expecting the E3 2012 trailer then you will be disappointed, but to say this is a bad game would be a serious overstatement. While this game may not live up to it's enormous hype, it is still well-worth the time to play it if you are looking for a quick "GTA-esque" fix. One thing that I absolutely love about the game is how detailed Chicago is in the game, it may not be exactly be true to the city but it's definitely a sight to behold. The map is bigger than GTA IV's Liberty City but not quite as big as GTA V's San Andreas. Messing with the hacking ability can be fun, whether you are stealing from bank accounts or causing neighborhood-wide blackouts. The story is rather cliched, if you've played your typical revenge story then you will get the gist of the plot. This game could have had so much potential for multiplayer but ultimately comes up short. There are deathmatch-style modes or GTA-style free roam, but the bulk of the multiplayer is essentially invasions scenarios that play similar to Dark Soul's invasions. The driving can be a bit wonky every now and then but you will get used to it quickly.
