Western Digital’s Black 512GB NVMe SSD drive outperforms SATA-based M.2 2280 SSD drives like the Samsung 850 EVO, at only a slight cost premium. While I think it’s a good value for those looking to finally break through the SATA performance barrier, I find it a little odd that WD is using its well-respected, performance brand to offer a “value” product.
