I should have known to stay away from WD SSD's, Their HDD's are ok but this died just after the return window..

Should have changed from hdd to ssd years ago. Reinstalled Win 10 Pro onto this ssd, perform a couple updates, and now the pc boots up as fast as my Mac mini m4 — 20 secs or less. This ssd is fast!!

I outgrew my WD 500GB SSD Blue drive. This popped in and up/running. I used CloneZilla to move over to the new drive. No problems thus far. It's amazing how much faster a SSD vs. HDD. I hope WD keeps up the quality control.

I personally like WD (Western Digital) and have been buying their products for a long time. It seems to be one of the best American companies on the market. I've had several WD drives for quite a while now and haven't experienced any failures. They work well. For me, reliability is more important than speed when it comes to storage devices. That's why I choose WD or Samsung, depending on my budget and needs. I think they have equally good quality. Overall, they have good recommendations and a good reputation.

Works as a drop-in replacement for an existing SATA hard disk drive; if you want to speed up an older laptop or desktop without spending too much money or re-installing everything, you can clone the old drive to this one. The only change you'll notice is a speed boost. If you're building a new PC, I recommend an m.2-factor SSD instead - but as an upgrade to an older PC, this drive is excellent value for money.

I have an HP turtle, I mean Envy. When it was new, it was fairly quick to boot up. Over time, it turned into a turtle. It would take forever and a day to boot up. I've tried re-formatting the hard drive and setting everything back to factory defaults, but it still ran slower than the drive-through at P- well, let's just say I think I could renew a passport quicker than it took for the computer to boot up into Windows! I got to thinking maybe the hard drive was to blame, so I decided to upgrade it. The Envy came with a mechanical-style sata drive. I removed it and replaced it with the WD Blue SA510 SSD sata drive. This gave my computer a huge boost in performance! It boots right up now. No more waiting. The drive doesn't come with a mounting bracket, so I had to buy one separately. It was very simple to install. The price was decent, AND..... Best Buy actually had it in stock, I didn't have to order it and wait for it to arrive. It works great.

My mom's nearly seven year old laptop did not qualify for an upgrade to Microsoft Windows 11. Since she does not use her laptop too often, I did not want to purchase a new laptop for her. With that being said, her laptop ended up being the first computer in our family to have Linux Mine installed as a daily driver. The WD Blue SA510 SATA SSD 1TB ended up being an inexpensive purchase, and installation was very simplistic with the iFixit Essential Electronics Toolkit that I purchased the same day. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase.

My computer has not run like new since I had it. My disk was full and they replace it; it runs like new and the speed it fantastic. I can log it and not take 45 min to get in, great job

This is a really good SSD for an affordable price. I had to replace my son's SSD in his laptop and have never had an issue with it! It does not have an aluminum housing, it is made of plastic but it does seem like a high quality plastic. I would definitely recommend if you're looking to replace an older SATA mechanical drive thats failing.

This drive is great for speeding up and old laptop or for external storage. Very reliable and newer tech than comparable crucial MX500 SATA drive. Very good write speed. Time to replace old 3.5 inch spinning hard drives. This one never gets hot and makes no sound.
