We all need more storage space. Files just keep getting bigger. Having used other Western Digital external storage solutions over the last decade, I was pleasantly surprised by the lack of needing a dedicated power cable and small form factor of this product. While I use it with my desktop it will find homes with laptop users. Plug and play it-it is great out of the box. I just wish it came with the little rubber mounting brackets to keep it hooked up vertically.

I purchased this item because I was sick and tired of the poor internet service I get where I live and my pictures not uploading automatically to my iCloud. I went back to "old school" and decided to upload all my photos manually. Small in size HUGE in space. Easy to use, just plug and play. Have used and trusted WD products for years!! Glad I made the purchase!

It's hard to beat the price and quality for this much space. Simple, small, and easy to use and carry around. It's just an external hard drive, so nothing too exciting here, but it does what it should, it's quiet, and it's powered by the USB port. The build quality appears to be great. I doubt you can go wrong. It came pre-formatted as NTFS, so if you have a Mac, reformat before using for the best results.

WD external drives are excellent. Easy plug and play, no hassles. 4TB drive at Black Friday price was a steal! I've always used WD products and have never been disappointed. This drive will probably back up both my computers and also have plenty of room to copy important files, etc.. I have 2 old WD hard drives of pics, Files, videos, etc that I used when upgrading OS. I always back up my backups! ? Don't forget you can also carry these and plug into any computer 3.0 will also work with 2.0 systems.

This is perfect for Xbox storage. I could only fit about 5 or 6 games at a time on my Xbox One hard drive (500GB). This is awesome. With 4TB of space I should never have a problem with storage. Installed in seconds with the Xbox to format it for me. (Walked me through the simple steps once I plugged it into my Xbox.) The games play great, no difference to be noticed. Now, my husband and I can each have our favorite games installed and ready to play! I recommend this to all of my gaming friends.

I bought this to use with my Playstation 5 to hold all my PS4 games. It works flawlessly. The PS5 can play games directly from this external HD without having to download to the PS5 Solid State Drive and plays them with no problem or lag. Easy Install. Just plug it into one of the USB ports and the PS5 recognizes it. Note that I use this drive to only store and play my PS4 games.

Easy to use. No loading any excess software to your PC. Light weight and compact to make it easy to travel with. Overall this is a great product and way to back up crucial data that could be lost. The 4TB is enough space to basically last you a lifetime.

Ok I purchased this drive for my Xbox one. It is easy to set up. Also a must product for the Xbox I have a 2T drive that I have been using since external drive have been usable the transfer times are solid. I have used this product for music storage as well where I swapped it between laptop and pc. For the price massive size. It's fast enough small enough to put anywhere. I can't think of a bad think to say about this product.

Great Potable Hard Drive. I have more than enough room for all my photomicrographs. The portable drive is fast enough for what I need and the price was right. When I think of what I was paying for my DSDD Floppy Discs back in 1980, it's a real bargin. The fact that I can carry it to meetings in my suit jacket is an even better deal.

The main features that attracted me to this product were the portability and the large amount of storage capacity. I considered competing products from other manufacturers, like Toshiba and Seagate, but decided to try this one out and LOVE it! I highly recommend this product to everyone. It also works great with the Playstation 4 in case you need storage for that.

HDD load Streaming Dvd player HDD viewing by far is the best to view your movies. Streaming is ok but not as fast and the poor cosin is DVD and even worse Blue Ray. Finding the disk inserting the disk holding your breath for the move to start well by that time the popcorn is eating and the drink is empty. Streaming is ok but defently not as fast HDD Usb plug in is the future. I have folders on the top level of the HDD A-G folder then H-L folers all top level no Vedio folder no sub folder. Best Buy or tons of other companies for $1 will load your DVDs and/or Brays on your HDD then I just move them where I want them. 1 Problem Samsung TV one of my older TVs would not recognize 4Tb so I went into W10 drive manage and portioned this HDD into two 2Tb drives. I do not load tons and tons of games but 4Tb at less than 90$ there is no better way to store data. The only thing better is the 5Tb WD HDD

Didn’t know they had mega deals on HDDs on Black Friday! Got one for $79.99 which was the best deal there was for a 4 TB portable HDD. It is pocket sized and works through connectivity via USB (no wall plugging needed) which is great if you’re constantly on-the-go. I’ve yet to try out the USB 3.0’s speeds, having mostly USB 2.0 storage devices.

WD is the trustworthy maker of quality drives for as long as storage has been a component of computers. In my 38 years in business using WD drives I have never experienced one fail. The price and performance of my 4T External is just as exceptional.

This drive is simple to use and come with reasonable software tools and backup/sync software. The drive includes software: WD Backup, WD Security and WD Drive Utilities. We use this with Windows, but it also works with Linux or Mac out of the box. This drive is faster than the last generation and with 4TB, tons of space for all you need to store. Also nice is that the warranty has been increased to 3 years. One negative is that the USB cable is fairly short, but the previous drive we have comes with a similar length cable.

I use this portable hard drive for the daily backup of my desktop's two internal hard drives. The transfer speeds are great and its footprint is very small, especially given that it is powered through the USB connector. Was plug and play (no formatting required) and once in place, never had to look at it again. Highly recommend.

Using this for my PS5 since the PS4 games take up so much space and it has so far met every expectation, especially since I was able to get it on sale. The size both physically and storage wise is perfect and allows me to keep playing old games I love.

I've owned drives from WD before and those were good performing products and so I was specifically looking for another WD drive when I came upon this unit. It has 4tb of storage which is more than enough space for most people and usb 3.0 for fast performance. The unit is quite small compared to external drives and its portability makes it quite convenient to use. I'm using it with my xbox one which its compatible with and it connected almost immediately with no issues. There was also no excess programs on the drive that i had to remove prior to use. I probably would not have purchased this unit at its retail price but with that said it is a solid, quality device that is definitely worth the sale price I paid for it.

I have purchased this hard drive (4 TB model) for my PS4 Pro as extended storage since the feature became available within the last year, and everything works as intended. Its small, compact size rests alongside the PS4 and turns off when not in use upon shutting the system down, since it's powered solely from the console through the included 3-foot long usb cable. As is with most hard drives due to partitions or system storage, you'll never get the full storage space as advertised, which amounts to 3.68 TB after formatting, according to my PS4's storage menu. Installation was easy: simply plug in the hard drive to one of the PS4's usb ports and then follow the on-screen instructions. I used one of the PS4 Pro's rear usb ports, to allow the front ports to be used for controllers or any other accessories, as well as to allow the hard drive to rest out of the way in the back half of my tv shelf. I greatly recommend this hard drive for any gamer that's looking to expand their PS4's storage capabilities. I can't confirm or recommend for Xbox One owners since I do not have one, though I wouldn't see any reason why it won't work, as the installation procedures are similarly straightforward. I did purchase this hard drive when it was on sale for $100, which is a definite bang for your buck if Best Buy ever has this on sale for a similar price in the future. I would even go as far as recommending at the $200 MSRP, though keep an eye out if this ever gets marked down soon (Black Friday, maybe?). This is a definite must-have, especially if you have a growing collection of games (either downloaded via PlayStation Network/Xbox Live or installed from physical discs), or even if you have a handful of larger games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Final Fantasy XV, or practically any Call of Duty or Destiny title with all of their downloadable contents or updates combined. You also won't have to worry about uninstalling the free games that you would get for being a Xbox Live Gold/PlayStation Plus subscriber anymore, either!
