Restoring from local storage is generally far, far faster than pulling your data down from the cloud, hence an external drive should be your primary hedge against disaster. Unit is compact, fast and didn't cost a lot. Easy access for all my pics.

I have been buying a lot of external hard drives over the last decade. The two brands i buy the most is western digital and seagate. I have had a few issues with the seagate external hard drives. I have never had an issue with the western digital hard drives. I still use the one i bought 10 years ago. This new portable hard drive is so sleek and fast. It’s by far the best one that i have ever bought. I cant believe it is four terabytes for such a small portable hard drive. Get it when it goes on sale. Don’t twice about it. It’s worthed!

We purchased this hard drive as a replacement for an old drive that we used for several years. We love that it is easy use and is basically plug and play. Western Digital drives are reliable and we feel confident protecting our data with them. Thanks!

I needed easy access to my documents and pictures while not in front of my PC. I travel so I keep pretty much everything on an external drive for safety. At 4TB this is more than I will ever use but the price when I bough it cheaper than some of the smaller drives. I bought a second one to use as a backup drive. I like the speed an size of the unit for traveling. I take a lot of photos so the size does come in handy as well.

This drive is great! It's small enough to fit in my pocket, and has tremendous capacity. This is perfect for mobile storage and editing.

For 4 Gb hard drive, you cant beat the price. Also very small footprint (about the size of a pack of cigarettes). And easy set set up.

Comming from a Seagate 2TB portable drive i found this drive for $99.00. A real bargain from Best Buy. I ordered it and proceeded to pick it up same day. Windows 10 picked it up straight away. I have had no problems with it whatsoever. Backed up my Steam Library, Movies ,music, and pictures with room to spare. At the price for a portable that can be attached to usb3 i am able to access its content with multiple devices including my laptop, Tablet, TV, and even an LG smartphone using an adapter for its Usb C connection. When portable storage can be had at such a reasonable price its a no brainer. It does come with backup software but i have not used any of it so i can not comment on its functions or reliability. I also can not say what speed the drive runs at but it is most likely 5400rpm. It does not starve. For power is very efficient using Usb 2.0 3.0 or 3.1. Excellent product!

This hard drive is the best size for backing up your computer programs and easy to store. We use a different one each night of the week to back up and the hard drives fit nicely in a small plastic container. 4TB of storage on a hard drive this size is difficult to find. I cant think of one negative thing to say about this drive. We have used them for years.

I bought this so that I could do a backup of my iMac as I was having some issues. It has plenty more storage than what I needed at the moment. I will be able to store other stuff on it as well. No issues or problems other than formatting it for the iMac, but still very easy. Of course a few days after it arrived, it was on the deal of the day for quite a bit of a discount.

Amazingly large HDD given the price. I've had problems with WD in the past and this doesn't make me totally soothed, but I have been using it for months now and it hasn't posed me one problem. If there were anything to complain about it would most definitely be the slower transfer speeds, but that's asking a lot when used for time machine. Oh and yes it is perfectly compatible with Mac today!

This External Hard Drive was very easy to format to my MacBook Pro. It easily connected with my Time Machine, and is backing up like a champ! I like the compact size and shape of this device. I've also dragged and dropped additional files into this hard drive and have plenty of space for much more. I would definitely recommend this hard drive to others.
