Customers are saying

Customers love the easystore 4TB external hard drive's massive storage capacity and ease of use. Its reliability and competitive price are also frequently praised, along with the included USB flash drive. While some users noted occasional noise or heat issues, these concerns were less prevalent than positive feedback.

Seems like a good drive; I've bought several over the years, and (knock on wood) haven't had trouble with any of them yet. More reliable than the seagates I used to buy. Nice that it's like a flash drive, with only one port to plug in. Very compact size to store as well. I use it for file backup, rather than for playing games or movies from, just because it seems like it could get overheated if used too long at any one time.

No issues. I like how small it is and the bonus usb stick has been very useful and easy to use. Plenty of room for my photos and important files. Not big enough for a system backup though.

The brand pretty much tells everything. I trust this brand. I bought one last year and I really like it, which leads me to buy another one this year. It’s portable. It’s compatible with my Mac. It’s also quiet when it’s working. I also like the large capacity of this one.

This Digital Digital Easystore 4TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive is a pieces of Solid Rock product I have purchase years ago. I still works like a champ when I am using it for my daily tasks at home. I need a lot of hard disk space to store images, video files and this piece is really fitted all I need. I would recommend anyone to have one of these products when anyone who has a lot of electronic information to save. Also it is super portable and light weight. A bonus of the 32GB Easystore USB Flash drive is very helpful and useful for me, and I have been using it all the time. The 4GB is a standard size for my own needs and I would only buy external hard disk for 4GB or bigger. Thank you WD for making these big-size hard disks and take care of us as consumers.

Regular price is $129 but I got this on sale for $79. For the price, it's pretty good but overall just on okay external drive. Pretty compact but doesn't look very rugged and since this still uses a traditional spinning drive, performance is what you would expect – just fine and not mind-blowing. It helps that this is USB 3.0 instead of 2.0. The 32gb stick is a bonus although I haven't used it yet. I would recommend only if on sale (under $80).

The Easystore 4TB hard drive is outstanding. It is compact and attaches easily with the provided USB cord, which also powers it. Four Terabytes is ample disk space for lots and lots of future photos from a current mirrorless camera (24mp), plus a backlog of photos from years past and three of my older backup hard drives. The bonus 32GB Easystore flash drive is lots of fun. I've been using it to show photos on the big-screen TV. (Most current bigs-screens have a USB port to play slideshows and music.) The only problem I had with the EasyStore external hard drive was that it is so small I had a hard time finding after misplacing it once! But it is handy to take along as a backup for critical photos while on the road. And with Western Digital quality, I'm confident in its durability.

This backup drive was excellent value during Black Friday sale. The product came with a flash drive, as well. I cannot say enough good things about this Western Digital drive. Performance is outstanding and storage of 4 TB cannot be beat for the price!

Portable size with enough memory to back-up several PC’s. 3.0 USB is quick and backup is very easy. I use this to back up individual music (wave) files for editing and mastering at a later time. Highly recommend.

So I am currently using this hard drive to store videos, photos, songs, etc across all my various computers in my house. And it is working great and as advertised. It includes WD backup software but I did not set that up since I have another external HD for that. I just wanted reassurance that my invaluable photos and videos were located on something other than my main computers, and this HD is serving that purpose well. Plus, it included a 32 GB flash drive that I was able to use to backup work files! Definitely a exceptional choice if you're looking for a reliable and good-priced external HD.

For a 4 TB drive this thing is tiny. I was pleasantly surprised when I picked it up at the store. Easily portable and fits in your hand. So far works greats. Fast transfers and brand is well known for being reliable.

Great Product, I've purchased this before, works great for all my backup needs (I also have a 2TB for my PS4) but this one I couldn't pass up since I am scanning ALL my photos, and the price was 79.99 for 4TB and a stick thrown in for good measure!!!! Can't beat it. When these are on sale around 99ish GET ONE! You need to back up your important files. You'll be glad you did. If you're a gamer, 4TB will let you install EVERY game on the planet LOL (just about) I have a 2TB and have ALL COD's from Ghost on up, all Destiny's, Fortnite and both Star Wars, and probably 27 games total and am only using 40% of my resources.

This is the perfect portable hard drive to help me transition to all digital and consolidate my music, movies, games and photos. Its compact size makes it easy to take with me wherever I go and it zips away in a little case for storage. The large 4tb capacity should be more than enough for the average user and it is relatively cheap for those of us who need multiple drives for each medium. The 3.0 USB makes transfers fast and the WD brand gives me confidence that this will perform well over years. I purchased 5 and they are performing well as expected and I will be sure to come back to the Easystore series for future purchases.

    HD needs more instructions

Got 4TB WD HD at great discount price with Easystore 32 GB usb stick. Why does a plug-USB backup HD need mroe instructions? * Did that title catch your eye * ;-) Well, it comes without specs on paper or online in minimal cardboard box, and there's little for troubleshooting help. Since I'd like to have mine plugged in 24/7 to my simple home file server, I'd like to actually know operating temperture and mean-time-between-failure (MTBF) rates, and USB power requirements. Does it work with Windows (of course), Mac (yes, but has to be reformated to HFS), Linux (yes, probably want to reformat). The bonus Easystore 32GB usb stick seems to be a rebranded Sandisk Cruzer drive, and was a nice extra pushing me to purchase. I wish it had instructions, but it gave me a few issues to realize it came formarted in FAT32. It had to be re-formated (to NTFS), before could copy files over 4GB in size. Minor headache that windows doesn't warn you about when copying large files to a drive formated in a manner that can't handle it (cryptic crash and error after wastes a lot of time). I now realize the FAT32 format is typically better for USB sticks, as if abruptly removed, your fles are less likely to be corrupted, versus the journaled NTFS format. However, sometimes, the user wants to move big 4gb files, and windows won't tell you why it's not working, until it crashes long minutes into a big file copy. Again no instructions. I'm not even sure if the supplied WD file encrytion software works with NTFS. The online manual that came on the USB stick does not mention compatible drive formats, in its 50-some page PDF file. Overall, after figuring out why a Windows 4GB file limit was hit, then the drive and memory stick has been performing admirably for the first month of use. I'd recommend it, but a little first-time instruction would help, for setup to Windows, Mac, or Linux drive format.
