Hard to go wrong at twenty bucks per terabyte. My only complaint with this drive is its default sleep mode mode. It spins down almost immediately so if you are frequently accessing files, there is a very annoying lag before anything happens. Fortunately you can download 'WD Drive Utilities for Windows' and turn this feature off. Access should then be much more responsive. Personally, I would like to see this option turned off by default.

This is a must have! I have one on every computer, it keeps them fast.

I purchased the first unit and plugged it into my newer computer running windows 10. I noticed the drive light always remained lit and when I would try to shut down my computer the drive would not let it until I unplugged it. I waited one hour one time to see what would happen and it still did not shut down. Then when I started to copy files I found it to be very slow. Eventually it locked up my computer and I could not access it after that. I returned this drive and got another and when I plugged it in I noticed the same thing, slow file transfer and the drive light remaining on. I took this drive and did a complete format. It took a long time but the drive has been running great ever since. I recommend a complete format to get rid of any preinstall software and the drive should work fine.

I initially bought this for my Wii U. However, the console would not recognize it so I used it as a backup drive for my computer instead. It works well, and I don't notice any lag in opening files. I like the fact that there is so much storage on this little thing

I needed a larger storage drive for my home media server. This worked out very well. I own hitachi , WD and sea gate earlier. Segate kept plying after 3 years so I have to switch and go for WD 5 TB. Got this in offer and liked it so far

I bought this to add storage space to my pc. It works very well for that purpose. I get a consistent 116 mb/sec transfer speed which is pretty good in my opinion. For the price getting 5 tb of space at a decent transfer rate is a steal in my book.

This is a basic no frills mechanical drive. It is specially packaged for Best Buy, but some specs are similar to other WD drives. The case is not as nice as other drives and a bit larger overall. Just started using, so not sure how durable the drive is compared to others. The price point for the amount of storage makes it attractive, but not sure if I would trust is as a primary backup bouncing around in a backpack.

Great storage for any gamer I would definitely recommend it since your console will fill up pretty quickly with a few games and updates I already have a 4tb for my xbox one x so I decided to get a 5tb for my ps4 and if I get a new console I can use it on it

Ran out of space on my PS4 so I needed tonget an external drive. Great price at $113.99 but hours earlier the previous day, the same drive was $87.99. They would not match the price but itbwas still a great deal. I'm ticked they don't offer military discounts!

Great external drive, connects and transfers files a good speeds. I like how well it connects and is easy to use on my smart tvs to watch my home movies and look at pictures. It's also good for on the Go with how small it is

Been plug and play so far. No formatting needed, didn't need to install their software either. Transferred my games from my old computer onto this when my new pc came in. Had it for a month and a half now, so far so good.

Very easy to use. Very small and it can even be used with a smart tv. Super big plenty of room for videos and pictures. Really pleased with this item. Sale price was great.

5TB for a great price! I usually need an external hard drive once a year and December is a great month to remember to buy one, plus the sales are a great in December. Always need a backup for important files and pictures that would be missed if gone.
