It's 5 TB of external storage. Always keep a backup! The performance is good. It's probably a 5000rpm laptop drive but you don't care about that. These are reliable and I've owned a few as XBox/Playstation storage. With games topping over 120GB per title, these do the job. For your PC, this makes a worth wild investment.

The 5TB WD external harddrive is an excellent asset providing additional storage for instructional videos stemming from Zoom presentations generated during the pandemic. Resources were readily located online and employed to assist in using the drive on an iMac. Based on past usage of the brand name product, this drive has so far proven again to be very reliable and was very competitively priced.

A good size hdd. While not a 8tb, 5tb should be enough for most people especially when considering it's form factor. If your like me and buy these every once in awhile you will quickly run out of space to store these drives in a drawer or some other simaler place. It's the main reason I prefer these smaller laptop portable ones over the bigger ones that require a power brick.

Easy to use - so far reliable and faster copy time than other competitor products. Have mostly used to copy personal documents and photos and hope it stays on for sometime.
You can either use the software to create back up or directly plug in and copy contents. Worth the price and would definitely recommend a friend. I bought it during a offer but still worth the money

When was the last time you found out if your backup system actually worked?
Well, I did. Twice. Two different machines, a month apart.
Worked FLAWLESSLY. We got everything back. No problems. No issues. Get this. Sets up in five minutes, works without any struggles or worries. Tech support awesome.

Second time purchasing Western Digitalexternal hard drive. The first time I purchased a 2TB hard drive to expand my Xbox storage. This time I purchased 5TB to backup a computer I'm thinking of replacing just in case the internal hard drive fail. The device can be held in one hand. It's extremely light weight compared to other external drives. It's a simple USB connection to use the device.

Amazing!! It great for storing all my YouTube videos from nearly a decade ago. Ended up buying a second one for recordings and media for channel and streams.

This is my 3rd of these portable drives. They’ve proven to be reliable drives which I’ve been using to keep backups of data, photos and video. The drive provides plenty of storage and provides peace of mind knowing I have reliable backups of my information.

Great value for a very well built portable external hard drive. Tons of storage on a very compact drive. A bit slow but then it isn’t a solid state drive. All-in-all, very happy with the product.

This External Hard Drive is available at great affordable price. It's good for having all your important documents and data backed-up. 5 Tb of Data is very good and great for backing big documents like all your music and mp3 and all your videos and mp4. It includes software for managing your data and backups on PC and Mac.

Very compact, easily sits on top of your XBox. I was very happy to see that it came with a USB 3.0 cable. I'd purchased a different one a few years back and had to go get a cable. Formatting is super easy, just plug it in and follow the on-screen prompts. From plugging it in to ready to go couldn't have been more than 3 minutes. Now my son can download games w/o having to juggle them to make space.

I purchased this unit on sale for $80 to use as extra storage for my Xbox Series S. It does run older original Xbox and Xbox 360 games from this unit, but not Series S/X titles. I mainly use this for downloading titles, and then copy the titles back and forth from the Easystore to the console.

With files getting larger and storage constantly running low on external drives this little, yet large capacity, drive comes in handy for many purposes. I do a lot of family photo and video movies of events and then compile them together for each year for archiving on blu-ray disk. A work space like this is great for this purpose. I trust WD drives much more than others and look forward to years of use.

Best value for money! Data was intact, despite i/o failures.
WD tools installers are on disk, on first use I used it to initialized the HD to exFAT format. When transferring data, encountered I/O error twice in 3 days when copying went over 20 minutes on macOS Big Sur, on Late-2013 Macbook Pro. I erased the harddisk and returned it, but noticed that the I/O error did not occur when secure erasing for more than 16 hrs. This kept me thinking, so I bought it once more same day I returned first purchase. Then same issue with second disk; the disk content disappears, and on force eject, fails to mount com.apple.Diskmanagement.disenter error 0, then on manual mount takes a minute but comes back with all data intact.
Then I just thought of trying this with my 2006 Dell Inspiron, old core2 2GB hardware, took a day to install Arch Linux on the laptop, and add exFAT support, after Ubuntu 13.05 also hung copying after 2 hrs. However on Arch Linux on Dell, it has been more than 2 days of copying (16 Mb/s), but there has been no issue.
I am glad I gave it benefit of doubt, bought it again, though I had to take trouble of installing a lightweight linux on my old laptop. I don't know why the I/O error occurs on Mac, but work perfectly with my Sandisk 2TB, and WD 1TB all exFat, or incompatibility between macOS Big Sur and exFAT/WD Easystore.
Positive points for me are the big space, and that the data was intact despite disappearances.
