This Hard Drive works Great!

Its massive capacity, solid transfer speeds, and small lightweight design make this a great purchase. I purchased this during the Black Friday deal, so the 5TB version was just $90 compared to the normal $130. I will buy this same external portable hard drive when my current one is full.

Good performance so far in busy backup system

USB 3.0 speed is good enough for my backups. It just does it's job as part of my multi-level data backup scheme (1TB SSD, 4TB HD backup of the SSD for 10 weeks, 2 4TB of archival storage, along with 3 4TB for true offline backups of the 3 4TB drives mentioned above). This drive replaced the oldest 4 TB drive I've had for 4+ years that started to slow down and give errors. Purchased on sale for 99.99 and glad I got it.

Packs a punch even though so small

Owned for 9 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i started off with a smaller one of these at 2tb then went out and bought another one at 5tb and then this one i bought for my husband for christmas. it stays plugged in all the time and works perfect as an extra drive on the computer. it writes fast, it reads fast, and its lightweight and easy to move with you. we love it and it stands with the western digital name at being one of the better brands for hard drives.
