I bought this hard drive for an extra backup. It works well. Just plug it in and the computer recognizes it. I have my own backup script so I don't know about the backup software that come with it. I have always been happy with Western Digital Hard Drives.

For this price this is a great backup drive. Low price, simple to use and does exactly what I wanted. Now I can backup my data files and know it is quickly accessible if I need it. Not terribly fast but that is not very important for backing up.

I had to back up my old files from my desktop before switching to a laptop and this external drive worked great. It is very easy to use and small so it does not take up too much space. Very happy with purchase.

I purchased two of these1T external drives wondering if they had enough memory. After coping 6,000 plus scans of photo's, negatives, and documents I had only used a small amount of their capacity. The drives were easy to set up and use.

This is a very fast, simple to use portable hard drive. The USB 3 makes transferring data very fast. I was able to backup all my data in no time at all. It's also very compact and fits in my laptop sleeve. Great item for the price.

I learned a long time ago how important it is to back up important data. 1TB is more than enough space for my needs. I love Western Digital drives. I have always found them to be reliable and this one is no exception.

I'm glad I purchased WD Elements 1TB External usb 3.0 portable hard drive. Needed more storage for photos and videos. Easy to used. It's small and easy to carry.

Great price with a small and compact footprint. Makes a great backup drive. Had to be reformatted for use with Mac.

I have two computers in different parts of the house. I have all my files stored on an external hard drive next to my main desk top computer. I wanted the same setup with my downstairs laptop. I copied the upstairs external drive to the small WD 1 TB USB 3 unit and it works fine whenever I want to look up something from the past with my laptop. I wouldn't be able to store all that information on the laptop's rather low capacity hard drive.

I got this on sale just to keep some extra files from slowing down my computer and to use partially as a backup. It is super compact, carries a great amount of storage, and came at a great price.

Plug and play to windows PCs. Plain Jane storage that I needed and it was on a daily deal sale at a great price for 1TB! No issues experienced.

My second one of these. Back up pictures and important information from computer. Feel better if having extra copy plus can take with you to view at different location. Quiet and easy to use
