I use this ext hard drive to backup photos and videos from my wife's various mobile devices. We have constantly updated sizes of sd cards and they keep getting full and hurt the performance of the devices. So I decided to get all the data off the devices and save it on this portable hard drive. It works well but it transfers data a bit slow. With my experience, it was anywhere between 10mbps to 25mbps on average. When there are multiple gigabytes of data to transfer, it can take quite a while... but the device never stumbled or stuttered. Not until after I received the device did I realize it was a 5400rpm hard drive. For "high speed USB 3.0" as it says in the description, that isnt completely correct. However the price should have been the biggest hint at was I was getting so I am not going to penalize it more than 1 star. That is why I gave it a 4 star rating. It is SOLID but Slow. It is a USB 3.0 at USB 2.0 speeds. It could have been the drive format that the mobile device needed that caused this I am not sure.

We purchased this hard drive for use with a Channel Master DVR. It is what that company recommends and it works just as it should. We have used it for 4 months and had no issues with storage or accessing stored content.

First off, this works with Windows Vista, even though the packaging doesn't say so. It is smaller than I thought it would be so it will fit in a pocket. It transferred all of my data very fast without any problems. It also lets other computers read it fast. At $40, you can't beat it.

The small, lightweight hard drive is a convenient and portable way to ensure my laptop data has a backup.

I use it for my Macbook Pro Time Machine back ups. It works fine so far. It does its job. Easy setup. The free shutterfly photo book is really good value.

I bought this as external memory for my PS4. It has served its purpose well so far.

I bought my Elements 1TB External USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive for my scanned old photo prints and rid my place of all my photo storage bins. So easy to use and categorize my downloaded pictures. Love it!

I got this to back up all my pictures. It's got plenty of space and is quite small so it fits in my safe nicely.

I bought this to replace an old 250GB WD MyBook. I couldn't be happier. This is a huge upgrade as it is powered through the USB (instead of having to plug into the wall) and the transfer speeds are much faster. I have not used the automatic back up software yet.

This marks my 5th. WD portable drive. The price was right, and I've always had great performance from Western Digital. I do a lot of audio and video editing, and, subsequently, need a reliable portable drive for extra storage. WD has never let me down!

Got this to add storage to my Xbox One. Works well so far and got it at a great price on sale. The light on it continues to blink slowly even when the Xbox is off. It's not too bright so not a big deal. I might buy another when it goes on sale again.

nice little hdd . usb 3 fast transfer speed . make sure don't give too much pressure to the hdd concoction . we have lot of customer bring external hdd for repair because the push cable too hard cause the connection damaged . .for the price go for it

I love this product. It is small, holds plenty but I do have some slight issues with the backup process.

Very happy with this external HD. The price was awesome, and the 1TB is more than enough for it's use to record with Tablo. It plugged and played into Tablo first time, recognized, formatted, storing recordings great.

Got this for my PlayStation four. Ran out of storage space and this was the perfect thing for me. It works really well And I have no issues with it so far. I also bought another one for my Xbox one. So if you need Storage this will do the job.

I have used quite a few Western Digital hard drives through the years and have always been impressed with the quality. This one is no exception. I needed less than 1TB of storage on a dependable device and this product served my needs perfectly.

I am using this on my Xbox One- I transferred all my game files and save files from the internal storage to this to free up the internal storage space. It works perfectly and games seem to load faster as well. Definitely would recommend this!

Pretty standard external, so far so good. Hopefully lasts for a while

Works great on newer PS4 firmware to enable external storage. It's a bit slow writing games to the hard drive, but reading from them seems just fine. I have one on a standard (fat) PS4 and another on PS4 Pro. Both seem to work just great!
