This dedicated PS4 external hard drive is excellent for increasing the storage capacity of your PS4 console. I have an older 500GB console and had run out of room on the internal hard drive. This 2TB external was the perfect solution for increasing application data storage on my PS4 so that my son and I could play new games. I highly recommend this product. It was very easy to setup and use after watching a couple of YouTube videos.

Excellent capacity and easy to install. As large as PS4 games are and the space needed for them and the saves, I don't understand why Sony put out platforms with such meager storage. It would be so much cheaper and easier for them to put it in at assembly, but whatever. All hail the mighty dollar and markup.

Bought this drive and man was it a great choice. PS4 recognized it immediately and been working great since the instant I plugged it in. It does load games a bit faster than the internal storage as well. It also looks great and is small for portability. Definitely recommend to everyone looking for USB powered 4TB drive!

So far, this has been a reliable USB drive for my PS4. I recently ran out of storage space, and the WD 2TB hard drive has provided more than enough backup space to store all of my games and save files. I would definitely recommend this to anyone in need of additional backup storage.

The drive works flawlessly. It has no noticeable lag. It took very little time to format and set up. It's compact size makes it easy to hide. Definitely a worthwhile addition if you are storing a ton of games. It's almost absolutely necessary if you subscribe to PS+ and download a game or two every month.

It's been almost a month since I bought this drive, and so far it works perfectly! It's given me the space I need, and is a compact size with a cable long enough to keep it beside my PS4. When transferring games, you cannot do anything on the PS4, so if your impatient, I recommend transferring smaller files at a time rather than doing it all in one go.

I initially was going to upgrade my internal HD for my new PS4 Pro however you would need to re-install the original PS HD if you wanted to trade your system for credit at most legit retailers so I thought that an external HD would be the ideal solution. The WD Gaming Drive works well. Only criticism I have it that it does not have a power/data access light. So you do not know when the PS is accessing the drive. Also, I noticed that you could hear the platter spinning from time to time. I would move the drive and it would stop.

Always difficult to find a gift for an 18 year old, about to graduate from high school and go off to college. He likes playing games and this external HD allows him to play without stopping and backing up. Since he is going away to college the case seemed like a logical extra he can use to store and protect the HD on the move.
